1 OCTOBER 25, 2018 Meet Kay Smith of Stand In Your Personal Power Consulting Today we d like to introduce you to Kay Smith. Thanks for sharing your story with us Kay. So, let s start at the beginning and we can move on from there. I m what you call a late bloomer. I was the freckly, pigeon-toed redhead who wore braces in school; I definitely was not part of the popular crowd. And the insecurities and rejection I felt as a kid carried over into my adult life. It wasn t until after the age of 50 that I was able to overcome my fear of getting noticed.

2 The first a-ha came after I took a 4-day workshop on how to dress for my unique energy. It was amazing the difference in how people treated me. So I became certified as an image consultant. The second a-ha came after I did a 5- day workshop, Psychosomatics and Body Analysis. I learned the meaning of certain physical features and how they relate to our characteristics, our gifts, and our challenges. This helped me to understand other people before they even said a word. With this certification, I was able to help others in their relationships as well as in their business communication. This helped me branch out into helping people with Branding for their business. I can see a person s natural gifts and help them express that on the outside in their image as well as in their marketing materials. The third a-ha came after I did a 2-day Bio-Energy workshop where I learned to clear blockages in the energetic field of people. The neck pain I had suffered with for years completely vanished! Now I help people clear their chakras and step into even more personal power. Has it been a smooth road? I certainly never planned to be a transformation expert. I grew up hearing phrases like never let them see you sweat. Or fake it till you make it. I totally bombed the first time I got up to talk about my image consulting business at a wives club. People laughed when I talked about their energetic vibration. But times are changing, and now people are more open to the fact that how we feel in every moment influences what we attract. So let s switch gears a bit and go into the Stand In Your Personal Power Consulting story. Tell us more about the business.

3 The difference between what other stylists do and what I do is this The stylist will choose everything for a person based on their own personal opinion. I leave my personal opinion out of it. My system is more like homeopathy. Whatever is your natural vibration, we add more of THAT on the outside in whatever you re wearing. I m known for my amazing before and after photos of clients. All I do in these dramatic makeovers is help the client bring out their own natural beauty. There s nothing fake about it. All makeup is natural and fresh looking. So a client looks younger and vibrant and feels naturally like them self. Hairstyles and clothing are based specifically on that person s Energy. I met a friend for coffee one day. She was wearing a reddish top. I blurted out That color almost works for you. (I m a Fire Energy, and we don t always have filters.) She said, It better work for me. I paid an image consultant over $1,000 to have my colors done. I said, Well it s close, but the features in your face are telling me something different. Then I suggested she come to my workshop so she could understand what I was talking about. I told her if she didn t love the way she looked, she could have her money back. Well, she DID come, and she brought her 22-year-old daughter with her. Which was great because she trusted her daughter s opinion. At the end of her transformation, her daughter said, Wow, you look ten years younger! But the best thing that happened with her new look and her new colors was that she had been looking for another job as a consultant for two years. She updated her photo on Linked In with her new look, and all of a sudden, three companies wanted to interview her. The power of color is one of the easiest tools you can use for getting noticed. But it needs to be the right color for you.

4 How do you think the industry will change over the next decade? I see myself becoming more of a Branding Expert. People don t buy what you sell or what you do. They buy you! You need to be working way harder on the brand of yourself rather than the brand of your product. I also think a person s presentation skills are hugely important. It s easy to hide behind the computer and texts. But if you want to go further in business and have a greater impact, it s the face to face meetings that are of immense value. And it s the only way to develop the Know, Like and Trust factor. I also see people tuning in more to their sixth sense or intuition. I help people enhance their intuition by helping them clear their energetic blockages.
