12 A thesis... is more than just a topic. Pull "Reading" is a topic. "Reading is important because it takes you to new worlds," is a thesis. Pull is your argument or main point about a topic. It's something that others could possibly disagree with and that you are able to back up with information. Pull is like a giant umbrella. Everything in your essay should fall under it, or be related to it. It makes an essay more than just a report, summary, or story.
