Line 2 should read "Nov by several partial impressions of what is almost certainly Illustration 65/5" ************** YAP : I wrote to Yap asking for an example of their current postmark in early June 2017 They responded on November a first response for quite a number of years. The cover arrived in the U.K. on November Although the Postmaster made several impressions of the cancellation on the cover none were 100% clear (all omitting the lower part of the cancellation). I have scanned and enhanced the best one to provide a slightly better example than Illustration 78/1. The actual colour of the cancellation is very pale red except for the date which is dark red See Illustration 79/1 below Illustration 79/1 **

The image shown as Illustration 79/2 was received from Dave by I have also received a cover cancelled by this datestamp on Nov The datestamp is 30mm in diameter. Illustration 79/2 MAJURO AIRPORT: Although Jim Mulik has confirmed with a contact in Majuro that there is a Post Office at Majuro airport no one has reported a commercial cover with an Airport cancellation several philatelic covers with Airport E & F cancellation but nothing that looks commercial However Jim Mulik spotted an e-bay offer of Pacific area Kiloware and included amongst them were a couple of Airport F cancels (dated Jun 9 & ) which appear to have been clipped from commercial mail see below - Illustrations 79/3 & 79/4.

3 U.S. PACIFIC ISLANDS BULLETIN - NUMBER 79 - DECEMBER 2017 PAGE 3 Illustration 79/3 The June 16 cancellation is on Page 4 BUT...perhaps I am overly cautious in accepting these as mailed at the Airport - you will note on Pages 3 & 4 of Bulletin No. 78 Bernd Neuhaus reports receiving a philatelic cover from Majuro with an Airport F cancellation on Nov and I received a cover dated Aug News of any non philatelic uses of the Airport cancellation would be welcome. Where are Airport A, B, C & D? actually at the Airport?

4 U.S. PACIFIC ISLANDS BULLETIN - NUMBER 79 - DECEMBER 2017 PAGE 4 Illustration 79/4 ** MAJURO ULIGA: Jim Mulik recently received a batch of covers from a contact in the Marshall Islands. The covers ran from February 2014 to August 2016 and mostly originated with the Majuro Water and Power Co. and the National Telecommunications Authority - presumably containing billing. Almost all had a single 49c stamp (unlike the Kiloware above which was apparently taken from large envelopes with each piece containing multiple stamps often of the same values) The cancellations are almost all the current type Majuro Uliga A & B cancellations. The single exception was Majuro Uliga C used on 4 Feb The Uliga Majuro A cancels on Jims covers ran from May to Sept while the Majuro Uliga B cancels ran from Apr to Aug A couple of the covers are shown on page 5.

The 32c denomination suggests it was first issued some time ago but I do not recall having seen it previously.

This was first reported without the mounting block) in the Bulletin as Illustation 56/24 and again as Illustration 57/14. Illustration 79/9 ***************************** U.S. PACIFIC ISLAND MENTIONS IN OTHER PUBLICATIONS: Possesions the Journal of the United States Possessions Philatelic Society 4th Quarter 2017 included an addition to the article reported in Bulletin No. 78 Hawaii Branch Post Offices by Dan Ring - (Possessions 3rd Quarter 2017). The origional article referenced the Hawaii Branch offices outside of Hawaii mostly in our area of interest. The new article covers the Midway Island cancellations of reported in Bulletin No 20 (Illustrations 20/18 & 19) Bulletin No. 24 (Illustration 24/12 ) and Bulletin No. 31 (Illustrations 31/15 & 16). Mr Ring remarks that while Midway is part of the Hawaiian chain it is not part of the Territory or State of Hawaii, hence the inclusion in his article) ***************************** END OF BULLETIN NO. 79 *****************************
