2 Vizsla Club of America 2014 National Open Puppy Judges Bios Gene Salmons Liberty, IL Gene has been in Brittanys since the early 1960's. He wouldn't think of going hunting without a Brittany. He is an avid sportsman and feels the Brittany is the best dog for that activity. Shortly after acquiring his first Brittany the interest in field trialing began. He has finished more than 30 Field Champions and Amateur Field Champions. In addition, he has also placed show titles and obedience titles as well as Hunt Test titles on his dogs. However, the field has always held the most desire and interest for him. Gene has spent many an hour judging weekend trials, Classics, the Gun Dog Nationals, and the Amateur All Age Nationals. He attends field trials consistently throughout the central region on an every weekend schedule during the spring and fall. He is a consistent placer at whatever trial he attends. He seldom gets shutout of the placements. He has placed in National events as well. (ABC Futurity, Gun Dog Classic, Quail Classic and has received Honorable Mention at the Gun Dog Championship twice). Art Terstage Louisville, KY Art is a firm believer that form follows function. He keeps conformation standards in mind but also believes breeding stock needs to be proven in the home and in the field. He regularly hunts with his dogs on quail, pheasant and chukar and actively campaigns them on the AKC, American Field and NGSPA field trial circuits. Art believes field trials are a great way to compare the dogs against other dogs and, more importantly, a great way to make some great friends. He is an active member of the German Shorthair Pointer Clubs at the local and national level. Art has judged actively since 2006 and regularly judges 10 or more stakes annually.

5 Ed Dixon Norco, CA Ed has been around Bird Dogs for 62 years since the age of nine. He currently trains his own Brittanys and English Pointers and competes in both AKC and American Field Trials. He regularly hunts all of his dogs on wild birds with a great deal of success, and has finished many of them with the titles of FC, AFC and Champion. Ed s past judging assignments have included: 2010 American Pointer Club National Amateur Championship, 2007 German Shorthaired Pointer National Amateur Championship; 2006 German Wirehaired Pointer National Championship; 2005 Vizsla Club of American National Amateur Championship; 2005 Weimaraner Club of American Open All Age; 2000 Weimaraner National Amateur Championship; The Arizona Shooting Dog Championships on 3 different occasions; Region 11 Championships 5 times; Region 9 German Shorthaired Pointer Championship, Kansas All Age Championship, and numerous other American Field and AKC Trials. Sherry Ebert Mott, ND Sherry has experience as trainer, handler, scout and judge. She (sees well)? and knows what she is looking at. Her years of experience with the Smith Setters give her insight into what a dog is thinking. Sherry has trained dogs of nearly every pointing breed for amateur owner/handlers. She has judged prestigious trials throughout the nation for several breeds and numerous American Field Championships for pointers and setters. She pays close attention, often spotting a dog before its handler does. Sherry is out there to see the best dog win the trial and gives the job her all. Sherry is highly valued as a judge both here and abroad. Her assignments have included: Continental All-Age Championship, Georgia All-Age Championship, Michigan Shooting Dog Championship, Midwest Shooting Dog Championship, National Vizsla Association National Championship; National Amateur Derby Championship, Northeast Shooting Dog Championship, the prestigious Ga-Lina Amateur Classic and many more.
