3 CREATING A CHANDELIER IS LIKE CREATING A POEM: THEY SHARE THE SAME sensitive approach IT IS CURIOUS: IT IS LIKE INVENTING A NEW UNIVERSE Chandeliers... and More Since the 13 th century in Europe, when the Venice s Serenissima Republic was ruled by Doges, the nobles adorned their palazzi with enchanting chandeliers that could only be made by the glass maestri of Murano Island, who created chandeliers one-by-one to match each context, matching them to the colours and details of the furniture and tapestry. Today you have I Dogi, specialized in bespoke oversized artistic chandeliers and luminous tables created in cooperation with architects and interior designers. I Dogi is synonymous with careful design and superb quality in craft creations. In recent years, on request of our clients and design studios, we have been using ancient and new knowledge to design and create personalized luminous furniture and representational tables, often used to match our artistic chandeliers.

5 GLASS IN PROGRESS Glass is made from silica, which liquefies at very high temperatures. Before the glass passes from a liquid state to a solid, there is an interval in which the glass becomes soft and malleable before it hardens completely, allowing the craftsman to shape the material. As well as silica, other raw materials, called fluxes, soften at lower temperatures. The more sodium oxide there is in the glass, the more slowly it solidifies. This is an important factor for manual glass working as it gives the glassmaker more time to shape the material.
