2 Mind Control A self working mental miracle Effect :- The magician, that s you takes out your stack of business cards, shows them to the spectator and offers to perform a minor miracle, if of course there was such thing as you only perform MIRACLES! You then proceed to remove a card and if you wish draw a crystal ball on the card with a pen. This is to a portal into the subconscious! The Spectator then draws a symbol, word, date, time, picture in the crystal ball. The magician does not see what is written or drawn at all. The card is then placed face down and inserted into the stack of cards lost in the centre somewhere! The magician then removes another card and tables it, the stack of business cards are placed into your pocket or jacket, or even placed to one side on the table! There is no way the magician could have seen what was written on the card. The magician and spectator concentrate and the spectator projects what they have written on the card and the magician receives it and begins to write down what feel the spectator has sent via their mind! Bizarrely the magician gets it spot on and takes credit for once again being a maker of magic and mayhem. 2

3 Method:- You are supplied with a stack of business cards and few rubber bands, plus the instructions you are reading. Closer inspection will show that there are a few cards in the centre of the stack which have large circles cut out in the centre. On the top of the stack there will be two or three normal cards followed by the cutouts then followed by ONE normal card. The secret is simple as most of the best ones are! You simply will do the following to gain the secret information written down by the spectator. After the stack has been shown to the spectator in a casual way, you take the top card from the stack and place it face down on the table. You then draw a crystal ball in the centre of the card (see example supplied) you can also place a few symbols on the card if you want to around the edges of the cards this can be used to maybe psychologically direct the spectator in their choice if you choose to perform an ESP style presentation. It does of course make no difference whatsoever what they write down as you will be able to see it in a few moments. Once the crystal ball is drawn and the card handed to the spectator along with a pen, you turn your back and ask them to write something in the centre of the ball and then place the card and pen on the table, making sure the card is face down. 3

4 You now have two choices you can either take the card face down and slide it into the centre of the stack of cards or you may have the spectator do this. You state that there is no way you could know what was written on the card, but you will attempt to reproduce it one another card. Now comes the sneaky part you will take the bottom card out of the stack, to do this take the cards and flash the bottom card as you turn your hand back over you pull the card out and place it on the table, keeping the cards with all the holes in towards the table. You take the pen and state Ill put these cards away. In doing this your hand will naturally turn and you will see what was written on the card as you place the cards in your top pocket. The cards can be placed in any pocket just get a glimpse of what was written on the card. You then take the card and begin to pick up on the thoughts of the spectator, now this needs to be done with some acting skills as you already know what is on the card in your pocket. So don t just write it down or draw it and go there you are!!!!! Make it interesting for them, talk about you are getting certain letters or symbols and why not while you are doing this give a bit of a cold reading as well, this is so simple to do as you know what they wrote down. 5 So now you have written or drawn what was on the spectator s card on your card, you reveal it to them in a magical and dramatic way and leave them with the business card. It s a sure fire method of handing out a business card with a bit of business and a lot of magic. To reset this you simply take the card that was placed in the centre of the stack and it is thrown away, and you place a new card on the top and the bottom and you are ready to go again. Now we have supplied you with enough cards to get you started but it is quite obvious that you will want to perform with your own business cards so we will now tell you how to make the holes in the cards, because believe it or not we have had more questions on this than anything else!! You will need to buy a circle cutter sometimes called a compass cutter from any stationary shop such as Staples, Office World, and would you believe there are 100s on Ebay! Prices vary from 99p to 10 depending on quality, it is all to true you get what you pay for here. To use the cutters it is very easy, simply place the point in the centre of your card and twist it will cut a circle of the size you set on the scale. 5

6 Ideas for presentations:- An ESP test, place some ESP symbols around the crystal ball and ask the spectator to select and draw one inside the crystal ball and to concentrate on it. This works very well when combined with ESP Perception also available from us. A Date test, ask the spectators to write down a special date for them, this works very well when you give a cold reading as you try to get the date, as the date will normally be a birthday, anniversary, wedding, death whatever it is it will have an emotional hook, and nothing slaps a spectator in the face more than when you get a date,combined with a cold reading smack on! You will simply set up the cards the same as the business card set up i.e from the top of the stack Normal card,normal card, normal card, cut out,cut out, cut out, cut out,cut out, cut out, normal card. The amount of cards you use is up to you though taking a stack 4 inches thick may look rather stupid! 6

7 Want to create your own cards, then simply either buy some precut cards or get some heavy card and run some up using a DTP program like publisher. You don t even have to use a business card, I personally use a business sized card with mental forces on them, I use these symbols to hypnotize my spectator, to be honest whether it works or not is well my secret but it makes for an interesting trick!!! 9 The card is inserted back into the centre of the stack, the spectator can do this but in our example the magician has inserted the card. EXPOSED VIEW- The bottom card is removed for the magician to write his received thoughts on! This is done without you looking through the holes in the cards The glimpse is done as you pocket the cards,simple turn the cards inwards as you place the cards into your top pocket or trouser pockets. This will pass the spectator by 100% as you are getting rid of all the evidence and is a completely natural action to take. After all you are only giving out your business card, and showing them a trick with it! Make sure you glimpse the writing on the card in a natural manner (No crazy, bong eye looking) use your peripheral vision! A simple glance is all you need! You now take the card into your hand in the example we have laid it on the table and receive the thoughts of the spectator.write them on the card, show them what you have & do this with as much showmanship as you can muster & take a bow! You are a genius! 9
