Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Nordstrom At Home Taper and Votive Candles 01/25/08 Weekly Recall Information

2 Units: About 2,500 Importer: Nordstrom Inc., of Seattle, Wash. Hazard: The candle's exterior coating can ignite, posing a fire hazard. Incidents/Injuries: Nordstrom has received four reports of flames or smoke coming from the candle or the exterior coating. One instance of property damage was reported but no injuries have been reported. Description: This recall involves Nordstrom At Home 10-inch taper candles and Nordstrom At Home votive candles. The taper candles were sold under style numbers NR-07059G and NR-07059S. The votive candles were sold under style numbers NR-07001G and NR-07001S. The candles came in silver and gold and were sold in a box of six. The style number can be found on a sticker at the bottom of the packaging. Manufactured in: Taiwan Sold at: Nordstrom stores nationwide from September 2007 through December 2007 for about $18 for the taper candles and about $12 for the votive candles. Remedy: Consumers should stop using these candles immediately and return them to any Nordstrom store for a full refund. 3 (2) POTTERY BARN RECALLS DECORATIVE CANDLES DUE TO FIRE HAZARD The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Round and Egg-Shaped Decorative Candles Units: About 185,000 Importer: Pottery Barn of San Francisco, Calif. Hazard: The candle s exterior coating can ignite, posing a fire hazard. 3

4 Incidents/Injuries: Pottery Barn has received two reports of the gold paint on the candle exterior igniting. No injuries or property damage have been reported. Description: This recall involves egg-shaped and large and small round candles sold in three sizes. The candles were sold in green, red and white with gold glitter and leaf designs. The recall includes all styles of this candle, including style numbers , , , , , , , , and The style number for the candles can be found on the price ticket under the candle. Sold at: Pottery Barn stores nationwide from September 2007 through December 2007 for between $10 and $20. Manufactured in: Hong Kong Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and return them to any Pottery Barn store for a full refund. RECALLS CANDLES DUE TO FIRE HAZARD The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Jar candles Units: About 1,300 Manufacturer: The Wick & Petal Co. of Indianapolis, Ind. Hazard: The candles can burn with a high flame, posing a fire hazard. Incidents/Injuries: Wick & Petal has received seven reports of the candles burning with high flame, some resulting in minor property damage. No injuries have been reported. Description: This recall involves all Wick & Petal jar candles. The candles have a cylindrical shape and a chrome lid. The lid has a white label with a picture of the fragrance, the fragrance name, and Wick & Petal Co. printed on it. Sold at: Select candle retailers and craft fairs in Indiana from October 2007 through December 2007 for between $8 and $18. Manufactured in: United States Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. SMITH RECALLS EXHAUST FAN ELECTRIC MOTORS DUE TO FIRE HAZARD The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products and unplug the unit immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Whole-house Exhaust Fan Electric Motors Units: About 6,300 6

7 Manufacturer: A.O. Smith Electrical Products Co., of Tipp City, Ohio Hazard: The fan s electric motor can be miswired and overheat, posing a fire hazard. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recalled electric motor is part of a residential whole-house exhaust fan that is typically mounted on the floor of an attic. The shutters of the fan are visible on the ceiling of the floor beneath the attic and must be opened and closed by the consumer. The motors were included with exhaust fans manufactured and distributed by Air Vent Inc. and Triangle Engineering of Arkansas Inc. A.O. Smith, the model number, and the service date code are printed on the rating plate of the motor. The recall includes model numbers S56A30A54 and S56A30A97, and service date codes M M, 03207JY 33407JY, and YB07 YL07. Units that have a sticker indicating that the unit has been rewired are not subject to this recall. Sold at: The recalled motors, included with the exhaust fans, were sold at home improvement stores nationwide or by professional installers or builders from February 2007 through November 2007 for about $3,000. Manufactured in: Mexico Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled unit immediately and contact A.O. Smith to arrange for a free inspection and repair of the motor. Consumers should stop using recalled products and unplug the unit immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Portfolio Incandescent Torchiere Lamps Units: About 90,000 Importer: L G Sourcing, Inc., of North Wilkesboro, N.C. Manufacturer: Field Smart Lighting Co. Ltd., of China Hazard: A short circuit in the lamps wiring can pose a fire hazard to consumers. Incidents/Injuries: L G Sourcing has received two reports of lamp fires. No injuries have been reported. Description: The recalled lamp has a black steel frame and a bowl-shaped light fixture. The item number is printed on the packaging and the bottom of the base of the lamp. Only lamps sold between March 2005 and October 2007 with UL listing number E are included in the recall. Lamps marked ETL listed are not included in the recall. Sold at: Lowe s retail stores nationwide from March 2005 through October 2007 for about $17. Manufactured in: China Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lamps and return them to any Lowe s retail outlet to receive a refund. 8

RECALLS COUNTERFEIT CIRCUIT BREAKERS DUE TO FIRE HAZARD The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. 9

10 Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Counterfeit Circuit Breakers labeled as Square D Units: About 50,000 Distributor/Retailer: North American Breaker Co. Inc. (NABCO), of Burbank, Calif. Hazard: The recalled circuit breakers labeled Square D have been determined by Square D to be counterfeit and can fail to trip when they are overloaded, posing a fire hazard to consumers. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The counterfeit circuit breakers are black and are labeled as Square D QO-series models 110, 115, 120, 130, 210, 215, 220, 225, 230, 235, 240, 250, 260, 280, 1515, 1520, 2020, 2125, 315, 340, 350, 360, and Actual Square D circuit breakers have (a) the amp rating written on the handle in white paint on the front of the breaker; (b) the Square D insignia molded onto the breaker side, and; (c) a yellow chromate mounting clip with half of the top of the clip visible. If your breaker, labeled as Square D, does not match this description, it could be counterfeit. Sold by: NABCO, electrical distributors, and retailers nationwide from March 2003 through April 2006 for between $3 and $85. Manufactured in: China Remedy: Consumers should contact NABCO to determine if the breaker they have is counterfeit and to arrange for a free inspection and replacement or refund if necessary. 11 (7) LENOX RECALLS COVERED WARMER DISHES DUE TO FIRE AND BURN HAZARDS The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Covered Warmer Dishes with Rack 11

12 Units: About 43,000 Importer/Distributor: Lenox Group Inc., of Bristol, Pa. Hazard: Flames from the tea candle can extend up the sides of the dish. In addition, a label on the bottom of the dish causes excessive smoke when exposed to the flame. This poses fire and burn hazards to consumers. Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received eight reports of flames extending up the sides of the dish and smoking. No injuries have been reported. Description: This recall involves covered ceramic warmer dishes with a rack and tea light candle. A label with Lenox and the SKU number is on the bottom of the warming dish. 14 (8) CHRISTMAS CANDLE SETS RECALLED BY SPECIALTY MERCHANDISE CORP. DUE TO FIRE HAZARD The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Christmas Candle Sets Units: About 13,000 Distributor: Specialty Merchandise Corporation (SMC), of Simi Valley, Calif. Hazard: The snowman candle could tip over and the exterior coating on both candles can ignite, posing a fire hazard. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: This recall involves the 2-pieced Snowman and Christmas tree candle set. The snowman candle measures 6 and ¼ inches high and the Christmas tree candle measures 7 inches high. Sold through: SMC s catalog from October 2003 through September 2007 for between $4 and $13. Manufactured in: China Remedy: Consumers should stop using the candles immediately and contact SMC to return the candle for a refund of the original purchase price. 15 (9) DEWALT RECALLS CORDLESS DRILLS DUE TO FIRE HAZARD The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Name of Product: DEWALT Cordless Drills Units: About 346,000 Manufacturer: DEWALT Industrial Tool Company, of Towson, Md. 15

16 Hazard: The trigger switch of the cordless drill can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. Incidents/Injuries: DEWALT has received 11 reports of trigger switches overheating. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
