Use with products heavier than the maximum weights indicated may result in instability causing possible injury. WARNING Serious or fatal crushing injuries can occur from furniture tip-over. To help prevent tip-over: Place heaviest items in the lowest drawer, shelf. Do not set TVs or other heaviest objects on the top of this product. Never open more than one drawer at a time and never allow children to climb or hang on drawers, doors, or shelves. Use of tip-over restraints may only reduce, but not eliminate, the risk of tip-over. 3 CAM LOCK SYSTEM OPERATION HOW THE KD ASSEMBLY SYSTEM WORKS 1. Screw Cam Bolt into the pre-drilled small holes on panel. 2. Insert Cam Lock into pre-drilled hole on panel. 3. Make sure Cam Lock pointed arrow is pointed towards Cam Bolt. 4. Connect both panels together; making sure Cam Bolts goes into pre-drilled hole on the end of panel with Cam Lock. 5. Once Cam Bolt is connected inside Cam Lock, take Phillips screwdriver and tighten Cam Lock clockwise. You are now ready to assemble our KD unit. ASSEMBLY TIPS Read all instructions BEFORE assembly. Remove all hardware from box and sort by size. Check to see that all hardware and parts are present BEFORE assembling. Ask a friend to assist you with the assembly of this furniture. To avoid damage, assemble the unit on a sturdy, level and non-abrasive surface. Please wait until all steps are completed before tightening bolts. 6 Assembly Instructions 1. Attach Drawer Panels Left & Right (8 & 9) to Drawer Back (11) using #10 x 38mm Screws (L). Then slide the Drawer Bottom (10) all the way into the grooves. 2. Insert and screw the Small Cam Bolts (F) into the pre-drilled small holes on back side of Drawer Front (12) as shown. Attach Drawer Front to the drawer frame by engaging 4 Small Cam Locks (E). 3. Attach Glide Runner (A) to Drawer Panel Left & Right (8 & 9) using #6 x 13 mm screws (J) through pilot holes into place. Plug Plastic Covers (M) to cover the Small Cam Locks for nice looking. 4. Repeat previous steps to attach other three drawers. 5. Attach Upper Front Molding (2) to Top Panel (1) by using three M6 x 25 mm Dowels (B) and 2 Plastic Connectors (H). Fasten each Plastic Connector (H) by screwing two M8 x 13 mm Screws (I) into the pilot holes. 6. Screw 4 Cam Bolts (D) all the way into the pre-drilled small holes on Top Panel as shown below. 7 Assembly Instructions 7. Connect Stretcher w/ pilot holes (7) to Lower Front Molding (3) by attaching 2 Plastic Connectors (H) using M8x13mm Screws (I) into place. Tighten the Screws with the Phillips Screwdriver. 8. Lay the Side Panel Left & Right (4 & 5) on a scratch free surface. Align and attach Glide Tracks (A) to Side Panels using three #6 x 13 mm Screws (J) through holes on Glide Track into the pilot holes, as shown in figure below. Make sure the Slide Tracks are properly aligned with the pilot holes and the front edge of Slide Track (with roller) is flush with front edge of Side Panel. Whalen Storage Factory No.: Page #7 of 12

Install Cam Bolts (D) and M8 x 30 mm Dowels (G) into pre-drilled holes on Side Panel Left & Right (4 & 5) and make sure they are completely seated, attach Stretchers (6) to Side Panel Right (5) by engaging Cam Locks (C) as shown in figure below. 10. Repeat last step with Side Panel Left (4). 11. Insert the M8 x 30 mm Dowel (G) into the middle hole pre-drilled on top edge of the Side Panels (4 & 5). Position the Top Panel (1) onto the inserted Dowels and attach in place by engaging 4 Cam Locks (C). Whalen Storage Factory No.: Page #8 of 12

9 Assembly Instructions 12. Now carefully flip the assembled Drawer Cabinet onto its front edges. Secure Lower Front Molding (3) to the Side Panels (4 & 5) by attaching 2 Plastic Connectors (H) at the joints with the M8 x 13 mm Screws (I) into the pilot holes. 13. Go back and tighten all Cam Locks and Screws. 14. Expand the Back Panel (13) and lay it onto the back edges of assembled frame making sure the margins along all edges are equal. Attach the Back Panel in place by using M4 x 19 mm Screws (K) through the pre-drilled holes of Back Panel. Whalen Storage Factory No.: Page #9 of 12

To insert the drawers inside the Drawer Cabinet, tip the front of drawer down and drop the rollers of the drawer glide runners behind the rollers of glide tracks on the unit. Lift the front of the drawer up and slide it into the unit. 16. Gently tap the Floor Protectors (O) at the bottom of side panels avoiding crack or damage of side panel. If you plan to use this unit as a hutch (stand this on another unit), please skip this step. Whalen Storage Factory No.: Page #10 of 12

11 Assembly Instructions NOTE: If you buy more than one unit, the stacking configuration can be available. 17. This cabinet was designed with a feature that allows stacking two units. Additional units sold separately. Place second unit on top of base unit making sure it is centered properly and back edges are even. Secure units together by attaching the metal plates (F) at both ends with the #8 x 16 mm screws (G) into the pre-drilled holes. Use caution to prevent damage to side panels. (Note: The Metal Plates and #8 x 16 mm Screws are provided only on the Hutch hardware package.) Note: The Metal Plates are provided to prevent the unit from falling over. You must attach them to the product in use with all the #8 x 16 mm Screws. TIPPING RESTRAINT HARDWARE We have included one Tipping Restraint Hardware bag for this unit. You must install this hardware to prevent accidents or injuries from falling unit. When properly installed, this restraint can provide protection against the unexpected tipping of the storage rack due to small tremors, bumps or climbing. We strongly recommended mounting this hardware to a wall stud and your unit. Please carefully read the instructions printed on the bag. Note: You must install the Tipping Restraint Hardware with the unit in use to prevent any accidents or damage to the unit. 12 Care and Maintenance Use a soft, clean cloth that will not scratch the surface when dusting. Use of furniture polishes is not necessary. Should you choose to use polishes, test in an inconspicuous area first. Using solvents of any kind on your furniture may damage the finish. Never use water to clean your furniture as it may cause damage to the finish. Always use coasters under beverage glasses and flowerpots. Liquid spills should be removed immediately. Using a soft clean cloth, blot the spill gently. Avoid rubbing. Always use protective pads under hot dishes and plates. Heat can cause chemical changes that may create spotting within the furniture finish. Stains or marks from crayons or ink markers will be difficult to remove. In the event that your furniture is stained or otherwise damaged during use, we recommend that you call a professional to repair your furniture. Check bolts/screws periodically and tighten them if necessary. Further advice about wood furniture care It is best to keep your furniture in a climate controlled environment. Extreme temperature and humidity changes can cause fading, warping, shrinking and splitting of wood. It is advised to keep furniture away from direct sunlight as may damage the finish. Proper care and cleaning at home will extend the life of your purchase. Follow the important and helpful tips that will enhance your furniture as it ages. This warranty is not transferable and does not cover chipping, flaking, scratches, rust, dents, or other damages to the surfaces of this product. Whalen Storage is not responsible for consequential, incidental, or other damages or losses resulting from product failure. This warranty is in lieu of all other expressed warranties.
