1 1 Kings 7:1-51 S olomon's Or Buildings S olomon's Own House 1 B ut Solomon took thirteen years to build his own house; so he finished all his house. H ouse of Forest of Lebanon 2 H e also built House of Forest of Lebanon; its length was one hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits, with four rows of cedar pillars, and cedar beams on pillars. 3 And it was paneled with cedar above beams that were on forty- five pillars, fifteen to a row. 4 T here were windows with beveled frames in three rows, and window was opposite window in three tiers. 5 And all doorways and doorposts had rectangular frames; and window was opposite w indow in three tiers. H all of Pillars 6 H e also made Hall of Pillars: its length was fifty cubits, and its width thirty cubits; and in front o f m was a portico with pillars, and a canopy was in front of m. H all of Judgment 7 n he made a hall for throne, Hall of Judgment, where he might judge; and it was p aneled w ith cedar from floor to ceiling. H ouse for Pharaoh's daughter 8 And house where he dwelt had anor court inside hall, of like workmanship. Solomon a lso made a house like this hall for Pharaoh's daughter, whom he had taken as wife. A ll bu ildings were made with costly stones 9 All se were of costly stones cut to size, trimmed with saws, inside and out, from foundation to eaves, and also on outside to great court. 10 foundation was of costly stones, large s tones, some ten cubits and some eight cubits. 11 And above were costly stones, hewn to size, and cedar wood. 12 great court was enclosed with three rows of hewn stones and a row of cedar b eams. So were inner court of house of Lord and vestibule of temple. Huram master Craftsman of Hiram king of Tyre [ 2 Chronicles 2:12-14] Now King Solomon sent and brought Huram from Tyre. 14 He was son of a widow from t ribe of Naphtali, and his far was a man of Tyre, a bronze worker; he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill in working with all kinds of bronze work. So he came to King Solomon and d id all his work. 13 Bronze Pillars for Temple (2 Chron 3:15-17) 15 A nd he cast two pillars of bronze, each one eighteen cubits high, and a line of twelve cubits measured circumference of each. 16 n he made two capitals of cast bronze, to set on tops of pillars. height of one capital was five cubits, and height of or capital was five cubits. 17 H e made a lattice network, with wreaths of chainwork, for capitals which were on top of pillars: seven chains for one capital and seven for or capital. 18 So he made pillars, a nd two rows of pomegranates above network all around to cover capitals that were on top; a nd thus he did for or capital.

2 capitals which were on top of pillars in hall were in shape of lilies, four cubits. 20 T he capitals on two pillars also had pomegranates above, by convex surface which was next to network; and re were two hundred such pomegranates in rows on each of capitals all a round. 19 n he set up pillars by vestibule of temple; he set up pillar on right and c alled its name Jachin, and he set up pillar on left and called its name Boaz. 22 tops of t he pillars were in shape of lilies. So work of pillars was finished. 21 T he Sea and Oxen 23 A nd he made Sea of cast bronze, ten cubits from one brim to or; it was completely r ound. Its height was five cubits, and a line of thirty cubits measured its circumference. 24 B elow its brim were ornamental buds encircling it all around, ten to a cubit, all way around Sea. ornamental buds were cast in two rows when it was cast. 25 It stood on twelve oxen: three looking toward north, three looking toward west, three looking toward south, and t hree looking toward east; Sea was et upon m, and all ir back parts pointed inward. It was a handbreadth thick; and its brim was shaped like brim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It c ontained two thousand baths. s 26 T en Carts 27 H e also made ten carts of bronze; four cubits was length of each cart, four cubits its width, and three cubits its height. 28 And this was design of carts: y had panels, and panels were between frames; 29 on panels that were between frames were lions, oxen, and c herubim. And on frames was a pedestal on top. Below lions and oxen were wreaths of plaited work. 30 Every cart had four bronze wheels and axles of bronze, and its four feet had supports. Under laver were supports of cast bronze beside each wreath. 31 I ts opening inside crown at top was one cubit in diameter; and opening was round, shaped like a pedestal, one and a half cubits in outside diameter; and also on opening were engravings, but panels were square, not round. 32 U nder panels were four wheels, and axles of wheels were joined to cart. height of a wheel was one and a half cubits. 33 workmanship of wheels was like workmanship of a chariot wheel; ir axle pins, ir rims, ir spokes, and ir hubs w ere all of cast bronze. 34 And re were four supports at four corners of each cart; its supports were part of cart itself. 35 On top of cart, at height of half a cubit, it was perfectly r ound. And on top of cart, its flanges and its panels were of same casting. 36 On plates of its flanges and on its panels he engraved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, wherever re was a clear space on each, with wreaths all around. 37 Thus he made ten carts. All of m were o f same mold, one measure, and one shape. T en Lavers n he made ten lavers of bronze; each laver contained forty baths, and each laver was four cubits. On each of ten carts was a laver. 39 And he put five carts on right side of house, and five on left side of house. He set Sea on right side of house, toward s ouast. 38 Furnishings of Temple (2 Chron 4:11-18) Huram made lavers and shovels and bowls. So Huram finished doing all work that h e was to do for King Solomon for house of Lord: 41 two pillars, two bowl- shaped capitals that were on top of two pillars; two networks covering two bowl- shaped capitals 40

3 which were on top of pillars; 42 f our hundred pomegranates for two networks (two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover two bowl- shaped capitals that were on top of pillars); 43 ten carts, and ten lavers on carts; 44 one Sea, and twelve oxen under Sea; 45 p ots, shovels, a nd bowls. All se articles which Huram made for King Solomon for house of Lord were of burnished bronze. 46 In plain of Jordan king had m cast in clay molds, between Succoth and Zaretan. 47 A nd Solomon did not weigh all articles, because re were so many; weight of bronze w as not determined. S ummary of Temple Furnishings Thus Solomon had all furnishings made for house of Lord: altar of gold, and table of gold on which was showbread; 49 lampstands of pure gold, five on right side and five on left in front of inner sanctuary, with flowers and lamps and wick- trimmers of gold; 50 t he basins, trimmers, bowls, ladles, and censers of pure gold; and hinges of gold, both for doors of inner room ( Most Holy Place) and for doors of m ain hall of temple. 48 So all work that King Solomon had done for house of Lord was finished; and Solomon b rought in things which his far David had dedicated: silver and gold and f urnishings. He put m in treasuries of house of Lord. N KJV 51 F acts Revealed: Solomon's Own House (Palace) [ 1 Kings 7: 1-12] Solomon took thirteen years to build his own hou se; so he finished a ll his house. So were inner court of house of Lord and vestibule of temple. [ 1 Kings 7: 9-12] S olomon spared no expense in building of Temple of Yahweh or of his own palace. Everything was done to highest quality standards of time and by most a ccomplis hed craftsmen in both stone, wood, and metal work. same procedure was followed for Temple foundation stones as for Palace s tones. uram master Craftsman of Hiram king of Tyre [ 2 Chronicles 2:1-14] [ 1 Kings 7:13-14] 13 N ow King Solomon sent and brought Huram (Hiram's master craftsman) from Tyre. 14 He was son of a widow from tribe of Naphtali, and his far was a man of Tyre, a bronze w orker; he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill in working with all kinds of bronze work.
