37 God s Covenant With Abraham The Almighty God now attached himself to a particular people. He called himself the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob. Exodus 3:6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

38 God s Covenant With Abraham This covenant was the bedrock of the relationship between God and the tribes of Israel. Deuteronomy 9:27 Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin:

These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

42 The Covenant of the Law of Moses The tribes of Israel were God s chosen people regardless of whether they kept the Law. The Law taught them the works that accompany righteous living and a proper relationship with God. Deuteronomy 11: A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: 28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
