1 Right-angle peyote word charts FOLLOW THESE STITCH-BY-STITCH INSTRUCTIONS FOR AN IN-DEPTH GUIDE TO RIGHT-ANGLE PEYOTE. By Antonio Calles The following instructions accompany the patterns for these bracelets in the October, 2017, issue of Bead&Button. Please refer to that issue if you need to learn the basic component. Supplies sample bracelets 3 4 g in each of 3 colors: A, B, C nylon beading thread, size D beading needles, #11 NARROW BRACELET ROW 1 Work component 1 using 110s. Components 2 17 BNB-TW1017online 1. Work one RAW stitch with three As. 2. Work one RAW stitch with one B and two As. 3. Work four peyote stitches: two Bs and two As. 4. Work three stitches with two beads each: two Cs, two As, and two As. FILLING THE GAPS 1. Exit a side A along the inside edge of an end component, with your needle pointing toward the next component in the same row. Fill in the opening in the center of the adjacent four components with an A, a B, an A, and an A. 2. Sew through the beadwork to exit the corresponding side B on component 2. Fill in the adjacent opening with an A, a B, an A, and a B. 3. Repeat step 2 14 times. 4. Fill in the final opening with three As and a B. CHEVRON BRACELET ROW 1 1. Work the first stitch with four 110s. 2. Work four peyote stitches with 110s. 3. Work four stitches with two As per stitch. Sew through to exit between the first two As added in this round. 4. Work a corner stitch with a 110, a side stitch with an A, three corners with As, and a side with a A. Component 2 1. Work a RAW stitch with a B, a C, and a B. 3. Work four peyote stitches with Bs. 4. Work three stitches with two Bs each. Sew through to exit between the first two Bs added in this round. 5. Work a corner with a B, a side with a B, a corner with an A, a side with a B, a corner with a B, a side with an A, sew through the connecting corner B, and add a side A. Sew through to exit the end corner A. Component 3 1. Work a RAW stitch with an A, a C, and an A. 2. Work a RAW stitch with three Cs. 3. Work four peyote stitches with As. 4. Work three stitches with two As each. Sew through to exit between the first two As added in this round. 5. Work a corner with an A, a side with an A, a corner with a B, a side with an A, a corner with an A, a side with a B, sew through the connecting corner A, and add a side B. Sew through to exit the end corner B. CHEVRON BRACELET SUBSEQUENT COM- PONENTS Repeat components 2 3 seven times, and then repeat component 2 once more. ROW 2 1. Work the first stitch with four As. 2. Work four peyote stitches: one A, one B, one A, one A. 3. Work four stitches with two beads each: an A and a B, a B and an A, two As, two As. 4. Work a corner stitch with a B, a side stitch with a B, sew through the first corner B in row 2 (on component 2), work a side stitch with an A, a corner with an A, and a corner with an A. Sew through the beadwork to exit the end corner B. Component 2 1. Work a RAW stitch with three Bs. 2. Work a RAW stitch with three Bs. 3. Work four peyote stitches: one B, one B, one A, one B. 4. Work three stitches with two beads each: two Bs, a B and an A, an A and a B. Sew through to exit between the first pair of Bs just added. 5. Work a corner B, a corner A, a side A, sew through the corresponding corner A in row 1, and add a side B. Sew through to exit the end corner A. 2

3 Component 3 1. Work a RAW stitch with three As. 2. Work a RAW stitch with three As. 3. Work four peyote stitches: one A, one A, one B, one A. 4. Work three stitches with two beads each: two As, an A and a B, a B and an A. Sew through to exit between the first pair of As just added. 5. Work a corner A, a corner B, a side B, sew through the corresponding corner B in row 1, and add a side A. Sew through to exit the end corner B. SUBSEQUENT COMPONENTS Repeat components 2 3 seven times, and then work a component using all Bs. On the final component, add a side bead to the inside edge only. ROW 3 Work as in row 2, attaching this row to the opposite side of row 1. FILLING THE GAPS At each intersection of four components, fill in with four beads of the same color as the neighboring side beads. LACY BRACELET COMPONENT 1 (END CENTER COMPONENT) 1. Work the first stitch with four 110s. 2. Work four peyote stitches with a 110 in each stitch. 3. Work four stitches with two Bs per stitch. 4. Work a corner stitch with a 110, a side stitch with a C, a corner with an A, a side with a C, a corner with an A, a side with a C, a corner with an A, and a side with an A. Sew through the beadwork to exit the next corner A. COMPONENT 2 (FIRST SIDE COMPONENT) 1. Work a RAW stitch with two Cs and a B. 3. Work four peyote stitches: B, B, A, A. 4. Work three stitches with two beads each: two Bs, a B and an A, and two As. Sew through to exit between the first two Bs just added. 5. Work a corner A, a corner A, a side C, a corner A, and a side C. 6. Sew through the beadwork to exit the adjacent corner A on component 1, with your needle pointing toward component 2. COMPONENT 3 (OPPOSITE SIDE COMPONENT) Work as in steps 1 5 of Component 2, making sure this component works up as a mirror image of Component 2. COMPONENT 4 (SECOND CENTER COMPONENT) 1. Work a RAW stitch with a B, an A, and a B. 2. Work a RAW stitch with three As. 3. Work four peyote stitches with one A per stitch. 4. Work three stitches with two Bs per stitch. Sew through to exit between the first two Bs just added. 5. Sew through the corner A on the adjacent component. Add a side B, a corner A, a side B, a corner A, and a side B. Sew through the next corner, and add one more side B. Sew through to exit the next unattached corner A. COMPONENT 5 (SECOND SIDE COMPONENT) 1. Work a RAW stitch with a C, an A, and a C. 2. Work a RAW stitch with two Bs and an A. 3. Work four peyote stitches: A, C, A, A. 4. Work three stitches LACY BRACELET with two beads each: an A and a B, a B and an A, and two Cs. Sew through to exit between the first A and B just added. 5. Work a corner A, a side C, a corner A, a side C, a corner A, and a side C. Sew through the next corner, and add one more side C. 6. Sew through the beadwork to exit the remaining corner A on the adjacent component, with your needle pointing toward component 5. COMPONENT 6 (OPPOSITE SIDE COMPONENT) Work as in steps 1 5 of Component 5, making sure this component works up as a mirror image of component 5. COMPONENTS 7 37 Repeat Components times, and then repeat Component 4 once more. COMPONENT 38 (END SIDE COMPONENT) 1. Work a RAW stitch with an A, a C, and an A. 3. Work four peyote stitches with an A, a B, a B, and an A. 4. Work three stitches with two beads each: an A and a B, two Bs, a B and a C. Sew through to exit between the first A and B just added. 5. Work a corner A, a corner A, a corner A, a side C, sew through the next corner, and add one more side C. 6. Sew through to exit the remaining corner A on the previous component. 3

4 COMPONENT 39 (OPPOSITE END SIDE COMPONENT) Work as in steps 1 5 of Component 38, making sure this component works up as a mirror image of component 38. COMPONENT 40 (END CENTER COMPONENT) 1. Work a RAW stitch with a B, a C, and a B. 3. Work four peyote stitches with one B per stitch. 4. Work three stitches with two Bs per stitch, and sew through to exit between the first pair of Bs just added. 5. Sew through the corner A in the adjacent component. Add a side C, a corner A, a side A, a corner A, and a side C. Sew through the next corner, and add one more side C. PARTIAL COMPONENTS 1. Sew through to exit an outer corner A in an end side component, with your needle pointing away from the beadwork. 2. Work a RAW stitch with two Bs and an A. 3. Work a RAW stitch with three Bs. 4. Work four peyote stitches: a B, an A, a B, and an A. 5. Using a B and an A, make a connecting RAW stitch, attaching it to the corresponding corner bead in the next component. Sew through to exit the last A added, with your needle facing the component you started with, and add one C. 6. Sew through the beadwork to exit the corresponding corner A on the next edge component. 7. Repeat steps 2 6 along the remaining edge. 8. Repeat steps 1 7 to add partial components to the opposite edge. 4
