(18 cm) 110 Miyuki Delica cylinder beads 5 g white (DB0200, opaque white) 3 g purple (DB0906, sparkling purple-lined crystal) 3 g amethyst (DB0108, gold luster amethyst) 1 g olive (DB0133, olive AB) 1 g dark green (DB0797, matte opaque olive) 2 g dark orange (DB0653, opaque pumpkin) 1 g light orange (DB0651, opaque squash) 1 g pale yellow (DB0233, lined crystal/yellow luster) toggle clasp 2 20 mm Toob findings ( 2 4 mm jump rings nylon beading thread, size D, or Fireline 6 lb. test beading needles, #11 2 pairs of chainnose, flatnose, and/or bentnose pliers FCT-SC _05 [1] On a comfortable length of thread, attach a stop bead (Basics, p. 78), leaving a 10-in. (25 cm) tail. Reading the pattern starting at the bottom left-hand corner, pick up cylinder beads for rows 1 and 2: one olive, nine purple, four amethyst, one white, one amethyst, and 10 white. Complete the band in flat even-count peyote stitch (Basics). End and add thread as needed (Basics), but do not end the working thread or tail when you complete the band. [2] With the working thread, sew through the last row to exit the third up-bead from one edge with your needle pointing toward the other edge. [3] Pick up a cylinder in the same color as the one your thread is exiting, and sew through the up-bead again. Continue through the last row to exit the next up-bead. Attach a cylinder to each of the next eight up-beads, and end the thread. [4] Slide a Toob finding over the beads added in the previous step, and use chainnose pliers to bend each end flap down to secure the finding. [5] Open a 4 mm jump ring (Basics), and attach the Toob finding to half of the clasp. [6] Remove the stop bead from the tail, and work as in steps 2 5 to finish the other end of the bracelet. w 2014 Kalmbach Publishing Co.
