2 Internorm at Agritechnica 2013 Internorm will again this year be taking part in the Agritechnica trade fair in Hannover, the world s largest event for agriculture. Glass fibre-reinforced polymers replace steel Do you have problems with the costs, weight or assembly of heavy steel components? If so, then we have the answer. Using today s modern glass fibre-reinforced polymers it is possible to replace many heavy steel, aluminium and stainless steel parts by lighter and usually more cost-effective parts made from plastics. 3 Damping, cushioning, gentle transport Transporting sensitive products presents a considerable challenge in many companies. The use of soft materials and cushions is the ideal way to avoid potential problems during transport. But up until now the disadvantage of soft components was their low durability or the difficult cleaning as with foams, for example. The photos above provide you with an idea of how gentle, easy-clean, soft products can be produced from very hardwearing materials. Such products are primarily used in the glass industry, in the production of ceramics and for transporting soft fruit (e.g. cherries, plums), and as shock absorbers and suspension components in machines. Internorm Kunststofftechnik GmbH at Bauma 2013 a review The considerable potential in the construction plant sector persuaded Internorm Kunststofftechnik GmbH to take part in Bauma 2013, the largest international trade fair for the construction industry, for the first time earlier this year. Between 15 and 21 April 2013, some 530,000 visitors from more than 200 countries visited the event in Munich, and the Internorm sales team was able to speak to many interesting new customers. Quite naturally, our résumé of our participation is positive. Plans for taking part again in 2016 are already underway. Damping, cushioning Bauma 2013

4 Rooting toy is occupational therapy trend for pigs! With its bright yellow colour, no one can miss it! The completely new rooting toy design for pig farms was developed by us in conjunction with Kassel University and the Weda company from Lutten. It keeps the animals occupied and therefore improves their well-being. These cost-effective, hardwearing items are made from a material that is harmless to foodstuffs and are easily fixed without having to dismantle the pens. Furthermore, they are hygienic, affordable and very quiet. Weda is exclusively responsible for sales. For further information go to Max Moormann Viktoria Fink Personnel changes at Internorm Since 1 June 2013 there have been some internal changes to personnel at Internorm. Franz Westerhaus is now head of maintenance and also in charge of training. His previous post as production manager has been taken over by Richard Tepe, who had been in charge of design up until then. Mike Broermann is now head of design, and his change of position in the engineering office has been compensated for by a new employee, Max Moormann. Another change involved Viktoria Fink, who took over logistics planning from Ms. Gronemeyer, who has just had a baby. Pig rooting toy Personnel changes

5 Our PU-Intec CI: the ideal coating material for varnishing cylinders in the woodworking industry We always know what s needed. So we ve improved our PU-Intec CI material in order to meet the growing demand for robust varnishing cylinder coatings. Thanks to this further development, our joint work with customers and varnish manufacturers has led to great progress in the varnishing of wood products in recent years. Our varnishing cylinder coatings (hardnesses from 25 to 70 Shore A) are used, for example, in Bürkle, Hymmen, Wemhöner, Cefla and Giardina machines. Compared with EPDM or alternative coating materials, the use of Intec-CI when varnishing timber boards or panels results in enormous advantages for our customers. Those advantages include: much better material application consistent application to chamfered or rounded edges an optimum coating for applying oil-based varnishes a more robust cylinder coating than rubber, with better resistance to cuts and abrasions, even when applying pressure an extremely low-swell, flexible and deformable quality coating For further information and enquiries, please contact Andreas Deters (a.deters@internorm.de). 6 Our soft tyres: a success model in sowing Our new polyurethane soft tyres are characterised by their better resistance to cuts, abrasion and tear propagation. Thanks to the composition of the material, these tyres are much softer than the rubber versions generally used and also exhibit an excellent self-cleaning effect.
