5 Martinycas This footwear derives originally from a traditional shoe from Menorca island (Spain), called Abarcas. The designer baptized these stylish and comfortable shoes, Martinycas. When the tractor was invented in the 18th century, Spanish craftsmen began to recycle parts of the tyre to make the soles for their sandals. World s first sole, made of tyres, was elaborated in Menorca, Spain, and have been known across the world as Abarcas ever since. All Martinycas are carefully handmade one by one, using traditional techniques, to meet perfect standards. Made of high quality cow- or sheep leather, they adapt smoothly to your feet. Once you wear them, you can t let them go you ll simply get comfort-addicted! The essential formula consists in the fact, that the strap around your heels will never fall down, but hold your feet safely. A somewhat tight fit is recommended, when you wear them for the first time, since your feet need to become familiar. After 2 days use, the leather will give in, and adapt perfectly to the shape of the foot. These sandals are made of high quality leather and strong, recycled tires. For the instep we use elegant, soft Nubuk leather, combining two colours to reach a bright, vivid and stylish design. Traditional Martinycas made in Menorca.
