1 Promoting an Ethical Organizational Culture with Mindfulness Practices Marla Berkow, CHC Michael Belleau, J.D., M.Ed. 1 Learning Objectives Present the use of Mindfulness Practices in your Organization to: Teach mindful breathing and focused attention Promote clearer thinking and more rational choices Calm the nervous system, slow the heart rate and impact blood pressure Help relieve stress, and work from a more positive mindset 2 1

2 What are mindfulness practices? A set of practices that focus your attention Who needs to practice mindfulness? Everyone in your organization (you too) Why practice mindfulness? It works INTRODUCTION 3 Being Mindful is: Noticing Breathing in, I know I am breathing in, breathing out, I know I am breathing out. Following your breath with your awareness focuses attention.
