4 WE MOVE A LOT BUT NO SOIL 4 We are among the pioneers in the field of development and manufacturing innovative systems for trenchless installation as well as for renewal of supply and disposal pipelines. Our products range from soil displacement hammers, pipe ramming machines, HDD rigs, pipe bursting systems as well as radial and vertical drilling rigs to generate geothermal energy. Numerous companies worldwide from small local buiding firms to international construction groups as well as planning offices and public utilities are counting on the reliability of our trenchless technologies. It is no wonder that underground installation and renewal of supply and disposal pipelines are becoming more and more popular. 5 dealing with time consuming and costly excavation and rehabilitation work are no longer necessary. Furthermore conflicts with local residents, traffic jams, diversion of traffic, noise pollution and carbon dioxide fine dust can be avoided and additionally construction times can be reduced significantly. These are major advantages when installing property service connections and undercrossing highly frequented public roadways. Since surfaces of high value should not be destroyed nature benefits from trenchless technology - as the the nature protection association in Germany (NABU) approves. 5

6 THE ORIGINAL CANNOT BE REPLACED BY ANYTHING ELSE, EXCEPT FOR THE ORIGINAL GRUNDOMAT is the crowning glory of soil displacement hammers. Our pneumatically driven soil displacement hammers are working precisely and reliably applying the 2-stroke-principle. Using this method the soil is being displaced into the surrounding soil layers and simultaneously compacted. That way a channel develops in which short or long pipes without sockets up to OD160 (plastic material e.g. PE, PVC or PE-X) or cables up to a length of 25m (depending on the soil, even longer is possible) are pulled in. 6

7 Property service connections using soil displacement hammers for gas, water, sewage, electricity and broadband connections (FTTB) can be directly executed from the inside of a property, which makes it even easier and more profitable as well as environmentally friendly. Afterwards the wall of the house will be sealed up using a special duct. Several property service connections can be realised within 1 day. 7

8 DYNAMIC THROUGH POWER AND ENDURANCE GRUNDORAM pipe ramming machines can be characterised by their resilience and power as well as high operating hours without downtimes. They are driven by compressed air and are particularly precise because they are penetrating different soil formations instead of displacing obstacles as a whole into the surrounding soil layers. The soil is being picked up by the open steel pipe in the front and after installation water and compressed air can be used to empty the pipe. 8

9 Using the steel pipe ramming method with GRUNDORAM railway tracks, streets, buildings and rivers up to a length of 80m can be crossed under. Our TT rammmers with a thrust performance of up to 40,000 Nm can be used to ram in steel pipes (up to a diameter of 4000mm) in soil classes 1 5 (partly even class 6 easily soluble rock) without any pressing abutments. 9

10 SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO BREAK THE OLD TO CREATE SOMETHING NEW GRUNDOBURST systems are perfectly suitable for the renewal of pipes applying static pipe bursting. With the powerful and robust bursting rigs damaged pipes with a diameter of up to 1,200 mm (circleand oval shaped profiles) can be trenchlessly renewed. Pipe bursting is a worldwide approved method for more than 30 years and an especially sustainable method for the renewal of pressure and gravity sewers, which is characterised by the replacement of an old pipe with a new one of the same size or even larger diameter. 10

11 The special components in our GRUNDOBURST systems are the QuickLock rods with which even gentle curves can be handled. Screwing parts together is no longer necessary since quick and efficient push- and pull resistant methods are being used. This special method eases and speeds up the process and reduces the time to execute the project significantly. 11

12 ROCKET TECHNOLOGY BUT DIFFERENT GRUNDODRILL is an intelligent and powerful drilling rig for the HDD method. The way it works can be explained quickly: After the pilot bore the hole needs to be upsized to the required diameter. Afterwards the pipe can be pulled in. The Bentonite drilling fluid is the main guarantor for the successful execution of the project. It supports the excavation of soil, displaces drilling cuttings, stabilises the bore path and ensures smooth drilling. 12

13 GRUNDODRILL can be used to execute challenging projects such as gas, district heating, supply of drinking water, laying sewage pressure pipelines, cable protection pipes for the supply of broadband internet as well as telecommunication, traffic management systems, emergency call pillars, low-, medium- and high voltage cables, fibre optic cables, parallel installations, crossings, crossing under waters and other transportation routes (e.g. streets, pathways). 13

14 THIS IS HOW INTELLIGENT OUR FUTURE CAN BE GEODRILL combines as an innovative geothermal drilling rig the advatanges of horizontal and vertical installation of borehole heat exchangers. The GRD system uses efficiently depth and size of the property without influencing the deep-set groundwater. Using our technology it is possible to reduce the technological effort as well as installation costs significantly. 14

15 During the drilling process the rig can be adjusted from 30 up to 95. Powerheads of different sizes can be used depending on the project. The decoupling of the rig boom from the drive unit is another advantage of our system. Drilling in densely built-up is not a problem. In addition our newly designed forklift and drive unit can be used as a transport crawler on your construction site. 15
