At our Hamburg shipyard and throughout the world, we deliver turn-key solutions, time-critical repairs, conversions and maintenance services for any vessel at any time. We combine our detailed design and engineering knowledge for new build with the hands-on approach and the project structure of the complex refit business. We succeed, because our people have a vast store of engineering and shipbuilding talent and because we blend creativity with craftsmanship. Innovative and awe-inspiring, our superyachts are beautifully engineered. Graceful, 2014 Graceful s hull was built in Russia and towed to Hamburg for work to continue. Our yard was selected because the 82m superyacht has unique, complex design characteristics, including an unusually large 15m indoor pool. We added a bulbous bow and features such as a folding balcony to provide direct sea access from the owner s duplex suite. 10

Fast delivery While the BV80 s hull, machinery and superstructure are pre-engineered, many areas and elements can be customised to the owner s individual requirements. The first BV80 is currently under construction and delivery will be available 30 months after order. BV80, 2016 Cutting of the steel plates to start construction of the BV80 began in Since then, significant progress has been made and the stunning design by Eidsgaard is starting to take shape. Customisation is key. While the locations of the owner and guest areas are fixed, the layout and use of these spaces is fully flexible. This smarter thinking leads to faster delivery. 13

Refit and repair work can take place at our huge Hamburg shipyard or our new central mega yacht facility at La Ciotat, near Marseille. We also offer worldwide support. Octopus Refit, 2013 /14 On time and in budget, we carried out an extensive 10 th anniversary refit (more aptly described as a rebuild or renewal ) of the world s most technologically complex expedition superyacht. The overhaul included state-of-the art upgrades and installations unparalleled in the world of mega-yachting. We worked closely and meticulously with the yacht s fastidious technical team during the extensive planning phase and the execution of the project through to the yacht s return to service. 16

18 CRUISE SHIPS & FERRIES REFITS & CONVERSIONS Our shipyard: a popular destination for cruise ships Shipyard work on a passenger vessel is one of the industry s ultimate challenges, demanding precise engineering project management skills, logistics and high quality implementation, all on time and within budget. We always rise to the challenge, completing tasks such as work on the hull, especially propulsion systems and paint treatment, machinery and operating systems in a short timeframe. Queen Mary 2, 2016 Following a year of planning, we completed the iconic liner s most complex master refit in just 21 days. The work included overhauling all four pod propulsion units and organising the logistical support for a complete interior upgrade as well as the installation of four pieces of scrubbers for exhaust gas treatment. A key task was the almost complete renewal of the forward top deck, including the installation of 35 high luxury prefabricated cabins and the renewal and shift of the sports court.

The yard s mechanical, steel pipe and electrical workshops are exceptionally well equipped and our docks can accommodate the world s largest merchant ships. Dan Swift In a 12-month project, we converted an incomplete cable layer into an ocean-going accommodation and support vessel. We added over 1,640 tons of steel, 400 km of cables and 44 km of piping. Creating accommodation for 291 passengers, we also installed a full bridge with integrated navigation console, engine control centres, HVAC plant, fire-fighting systems, sprinklers, CO2 and water mist systems and completely outfitted workshops. 20

Alongside standard repairs, we install dynamic positioning systems, make structural optimisations, construct service cranes, modernise production facilities, extend crew quarters and carry out engine upgrades. Enquest Producer, 2013 The 248-metre Enquest Producer, originally built as a tanker and then converted to a floating production storage and offloading vessel, came to us for a 22-month modification and life extension programme that, at the peak of activities, involved over 1,000 people on site. The upgrade and conversion work included the complete renewal and upgrade of the topside equipment, the installation of steam turbine machinery and the addition of two boilers. 23

Any time Completing all types of harbour repair work, our projects include hydraulic and electrical equipment repairs, crane, steel and stevedore damage repairs, painting, changing anchors and chains, stripping down and rebuilding engines and machining crankshafts. We repair vessels afloat and during cargo operations. Along with our team of fitters, electricians and riggers, we have dedicated flying squads and an in-house pipe production centre. We also offer mechanical processing with turning lathes of up to 20 metres. We carry out paint spraying, sandblasting and equipment cleaning at our Hamburg shipyard. We also hold a hot work permit for the Hamburg habour and we offer our services 24/7. 24

We work on all types of tanks, including double bottomed, secondary containment, floatingroof, fixed-roof and vapour storage tanks. Operators appreciate our flexibility, reliability and our knowledgeable service team. Storage tank building project Hamburg-Harburg, 2016 For a customer in Hamburg-Harburg, Blohm+Voss has recently built an above grounded cylindrical storage tank with a diameter of 28 metres and a height of 16.5 metres. The Blohm+Voss experts used 215 tonnes of steel in only three months. Since its completion, the storage tank holds m³ of bitumen. Due to the successful project, the customer placed a second order for an identical storage tank with Blohm+Voss. 25

We repair, maintain and modernise heat and power plants, incinerators, sewage treatment plants, boilers, pressure-vessels and steel components. Our many customers include power companies, processing plants, industrial companies and municipal utilities. Production Line repair, 2016 (near Hamburg) Repairing damage caused by over-heating in an aluminium industry calcination system, we prefabricated and changed 51,000 kg of different steel parts in around 9,000 working hours. A major logistical challenge was that all parts had to be designed in 75 drawings and transported onto different levels of the building up to 62m high. We also replaced the system s chimney with a special engineered transport clamp. 28

We focus on fast and efficient marine coating activities during the ship s complete lifecycle and we consider future-proof technologies, cost-effectiveness, technical performance, environmental impact and health & safety. Coatings for the Cunard fleet since 2014 As part of a strategic initiative to reduce fuel cost and associated CO emissions while maintaining operational schedules, Cunard has switched to uoropolymer technology coatings. Cruise ships within the Cunard fleet had up to 6,000m² of hull coated with Intersleek 1100 during maintenance and repair docking at our Hamburg yard. The vessels have been recoated to achieve operational speed while using less power and less fuel. 29

The depth of experience of our engineering and construction workforce is the main reason our shipyard has successfully developed and delivered some of the most iconic mega yachts during the last decade and carried out complex repairs and conversions of passenger, offshore and other vessels in-time and on-budget. We have concentrated our engineering forces at our shipyard in Hamburg, leading to strong teamwork between project development, engineering, production and, crucially, our clients. To enhance this essential cooperation, we work with state-of-the-art CAD-tools and fully integrated ERP systems. By bringing all the right product information together into automated processes, we can better synchronise efforts, increase productivity and achieve greater innovation. 37
