15 PERFECTION THROUGH PRECISION PACKAGING IN HALBERSTADT, GERMANY No matter how well the preparation and planning is carried out, precise implementation is ultimately the crucial factor. Because we know this, based on our decades of experience, we rely on the highly professionally run manufacturing plant at our Halberstadt site in Germany. The plant has optimal rail and road connections for transport, as well as cutting-edge technology that enables us to create a complete package for a vast range of projects, including pipework and cabling. Expertly trained, highly motivated employees, specializing in the areas of compressor and EI&C engineering, steel construction and vessels/ pipework installation, assemble the complete compressor systems regardless of whether we are producing a small unit or a giant 7,500 kw compressor system. Using CNC machine tools and laser-controlled precision alignment allows us to exceed even the most stringent requirements. 16 Two compressors for natural gas storage Two base-frame-mounted piston compressors are packaged with two gas engines. The delivery is 125,000 Nm 3 /h, final pressure 206 bars. The two Ariel compressors are six-cylinder, and the gas engines are 3,550 kw. The precision-manufactured base frame is 11.5 m long, and the total unit weighs 102,000 kg. Manufactured, assembled and delivered ready for use on time from Halberstadt to the natural gas storage.

17 Underground storage facility in Saxony-Anhalt * The volume flow of 120,000 Nm 3 /h is provided by the integration of two independent Ariel compressors into the existing system. The compressors are driven by speed-controlled electric motors. Gathering station in Lower Saxony * With the speed control of the electric motors and an infinitely variable flow rate regulation, it is possible to react to the fluctuating pressure of the natural gas field. 18 WHERE EVERYTHING RUNS OPTIMALLY NATURAL GAS DELIVERY AT ITS BEST The safe delivery of natural gas depends largely on the gas being transported reliably under conditions that can vary such as seasonally fluctuating pressure and varying volumes. We provided a complete compressor unit in the gathering station for an international power supply company in Lower Saxony in Germany from planning to packaging to on-site installation and commissioning. Two 2-cylinder Ariel gas compressors, each driven by a 710 kw speed-controlled electric motor and supported by an infinitely variable volume flow control, constantly ensure the transport of the required volume of gas, even when the pressure in the gas field fluctuates considerably, from 20 to 65 bars. CUSTOMIZED STORAGE COMPRESSION Natural gas storage can be operated much more economically if the gas can be taken in and out of storage quickly and flexibly. We recently completed a new, efficient compressor system for a storage provider as part of an expansion. Here, too, we provided the full range of services, from planning to implementation to final commissioning.
