2 ABSTRACT A two-way automatic sliding doors have been made. In general, automatic sliding door is designed using a two-way, ATMega16 microcontroller, LCD 16x2, L298 DC Motor Driver, Keypad, Limit Switches, Push Button, Alarm, 5V DC motor. Microcontroller receives inputs from Keypad, a password consisting of 4 digits. then the microcontroller gives the output to the DC Motor Driver L298. Furthermore, the output of the LCD entry into DC motor which serves to open and close the door. By the time we entered the wrong password then it will sound alarm. At the time in the position, there is Push Button which serves to open the door without entering a password. doors will open at the push of a button Push Button. It can be concluded that the prototype is a two-way automatic doors can be used system security at door house Keyword: Microcontroller ATMega16, limit Switch, L298 DC Motor Driver,a two-way automatic doors

11 CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background Microcontroller is an IC in which already includes a Central Processing Unit, ROM, RAM, input / output. Thus the microcontroller to enable the required set of software written in basic language and then compiled so that it can be read by the microcontroller, and the software must be stored in the microcontroller ROM. Technology microcontroller at this point is not a new thing anymore for people who have been in the computer world. Microcontroller very helpful in terms of human activities because of the cost of making a tool that uses the main components of microcontroller is cheaper than making the tool uses the computer's main components. Besides, by using the microcontroller will be more practical and simple. Along with the changing times there are some people who take life with a shortcut to get rich, one of them with the crime of stealing. People would be easier to steal at home that does not have a security system. With the advancement of technology, people will be required to provide a solution of a wide range of security issues. One of them is microcontroller technology to meet those needs The foregoing is the background for the creation of a tool to provide security at the door of the house in this regard will be final project titled "Design of an automatic door opener By Using Password-Based Microcontroller ATMEGA16 ''

12 1.2 PROBLEM STATEMENT Based on the background described above, there are some problems as follows: 1. How to design MC ATMEGA-based system that can automatically control the door? 2. How to implement such a system on the system miniature? 3. How to test the ability of the system is based on presentations made? 1.3 SCOPE OF PROBLEM Issues raised in this thesis have a boundary problem as follows: 1. System controller used is MC ATMega16 2. The language used is Visual Basic 3. The door will open after obtaining the appropriate password 4. The number of password created by 4-digit 1.4 FINAL MOTIVATION Motivation Final The motivation of this fyp can be ex process describe us follow : 1. Contribution of this report Contribution of this report divided into 3 parts: 1. institution This thesis can be a module and reference for students in Medan State Polytechnic 2. Community Area This thesis can be helpful to broaden, to facilitate an IT makes this tool, because it is very useful for society

Author For the author of this thesis will be one of the skills that may aka in need in the future world of work 1.5 METHOD OF FINAL ASSIGNMENT In the manufacture and preparation this thesis, the author uses the method as follows: Literature Review At this stage of the study to the problems of reference are available from various sources on microcontrollers as well as finding out what a good microcontroller used in this control system. Based on the studies that have been done can be concluded that the use is ATMEGA16 microcontroller, keypad, limit switches, push button, LCD, driver dc motor, dc motor, alarm The design of the hardware At this stage of the design tool to connect all Component of the MICROCONTROLLER ATMEGA Implementation and Testing At this stage is the stage in the design of a tool that uses keypad to enter a password, after the password is entered, the data is stored in ROM MICROCONTROLLER, with the correct password then the door will open, if the password is wrong then alarm goes off.

15 1.5.4 Analysis and Discussion At this stage of the analysis system has been created based on the final project goals and identify the problems that may arise. In this stage also conducted discussion about trials that have been done in the previous stage Final Preparation and Documentation At this stage of the preparation of a report that includes documentation regarding the manufacture MICROCONTROLLER ATMEGA16 based tool, and the results of testing tools that have been made. 1.6 STRUCTURE OF WRITING Here is a systematic writing used in breastfeeding final report: CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION This chapter contains a description of the background of the title selection, problem definition, motivational and goal final task, the target application design and implementation methods of the final project. CHAPTER 2 BASIC THEORY This chapter provides the theoretical basis which becomes the main reference in the thesis. Discussed the theory associated with the application to be made and also used for analysis and design of applications.

16 CHAPTER 3 SYSTEM DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT This chapter discusses the analysis and design of systems. Stages analysis illustrates and describes the activities performed on the running system while designing stage application display applications such as design, programming algorithms. CHAPTER 4 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION This chapter discusses the testing and the results obtained from the system that has been created CHAPTER 5 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS This chapter to explain the end result of all the writing that in doing the conclusions and suggestions which contains input to develop and complete the applications that have been built in the days to come
