With the aid of decades of experience and state-of-the-art equipment, our chemists, engineers and physicists conduct precise analyses on a vast range of materials, to provide Customers with the technical support they need, in order to interpret data correctly and identify the most appropriate operational solutions. With thousands of cases handled, TEC Eurolab has the experience and multidisciplinary expertise to make it a highly specialised Failure Investigation Centre. 8 We therefore have the capability to support our Customers in diagnosing the rootcauses of defects and failures that can occur at various stages of a product s life-cycle, from prototyping and pre-series production to the worst-case scenario - failure in service.

10 industrial computed tomography Industrial Computed Tomography is an advanced method of non-destructive testing and inspection, can be applied in various phases of production process, especially when there s the need to control a component or a piece either a final product without interfering whit it in any way. Therefore, it s applicable to inspection and control of pieces and object of different kind of manufacturing and origin we can start from mechanical elements, or electronic boards, then we can also talk about, artwork or biomedical pieces, either castings or composite materials. SIDEIUS is a spin-off from TEC Eurolab that was founded as an industrial tomography centre, and is progressively affirming itself on the market as a technological hub capable of offering a wide range of integrated engineering services designed to assist customer companies in all-round improvements of products and processes. This new industrial reality offers itself as a technological partner which can accompany client companies in the various phases of new products industrialisation, providing services including Industrial Tomography, Reverse Engineering, Tensional Analysis, FEM Analysis (Finite Element Method), Failure Analysis, Product Optimisation and Metal Replacement. 10

11 It s also an extraordinary tool for reverse engineering as well as for dimensional measurements of internal particular, and geometries, which would be impossible to determine with any other method without sectioning the piece. The tomography survey integrates very well with advanced services, such as failure analysis thereby allowing engineers to get a picture of the whole problem before applying destructive test on samples. 11

12 welding Qualifications, inspections, technical support Through our engineers, technologists and welding inspectors, we offer our customers the necessary technical support in the implementation and control of manufacturing processes, anywhere in the world. We carry out customized operations, based on the processes we also apply in-house, and on the advanced theoretical and practical know-how of our experts. Certification of personnel and processes We are an Accredited UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17024:2004 certification body: we organise the examination procedures necessary for obtaining official licences for welders, and welding operators, on metallic and polyethylene materials. We are also a UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17065:2012 accredited body for certifying soldering and welding processes 12

13 non destructive testing Non-destructive tests (NDT) are used whenever there is need to test a component without minimally interfering with it or damaging it. They are used to test finished or unused products, to avoid submitting defective components or materials to further use. They can also be used in production-line checks, for example at the end of production processes that risk damaging materials. NDT checks can be applied using different technologies to materials that are metallic, non-metallic or composite. TEC Eurolab s Non-destructive Testing department is manned by technicians who have qualified at II and III Levels, according to UNI EN ISO ASNT SNT TC 1A - NAS EN ANSF 02/2012 Guidelines. 14 dimensional inspection 14 The correctness and conformity of a component compared to its design and project, is one of the first and most vital factors in its optimal functioning and is a key strategic parameter in any process monitoring. Thanks to its long-running multi-sector experience, the TEC Eurolab dimensional department can adapt to customer s specific requirements by collaborating on the various phases of a component s life cycle. Operations can range from traditional dimensional checks to 3D component-scanning (both optical and tomographic), from first-product tests to moulding controls, from CAD comparisons to reverse engineering, from design and implementation of measurement plan to drafting of dimensional inspection procedures, statistical process analysis and statistical monitoring of measurement systems.

15 training courses Courses on Non-destructive Testing and welding The training options offered by TEC Eurolab include courses on various Non-destructive Testing methods and various welding and soldering technologies. The courses are organised in modular structures, i.e. offering days divided into modules that focus on the specific aspects of different NDT methods. This modular conformation means that those following the courses do not have to be absent from their companies for long periods, thus reducing the impact of their training commitments on their companies productivity. Customized training courses The customized training courses are learning process which are structured directly in collaboration with customers according to their requirements relating to specific materials, tests and processes. Courses with customized structures may take place either directly at the customer company s plant or at the TEC Eurolab laboratories.
