5 NF-GEBCO Seabed 2030 Mission Mapping the entire world s ocean floor by 2030 Benefit of mapping the ocean floor Safe navigation at sea Tsunami wave propagation forecast Prediction of climate change Monitoring marine biodiversity Progress Less than 15% of the world s ocean floor was mapped at the start of the project in Aug ,000km 2 of data has been collected from the private sector alone in the first year of the project 5

9 Background of Ocean Innovation Project Capacity building of Japanese offshore engineers is indispensable to deal with the future market from mid- and long-term perspective. Equinor(Since 2016) Equinor has received 6 Japanese intern (3 month). SINTEF Ocean(Since 2017) SINTEF Ocean receives 3 Japanese long interns(6 month). 14
