SCIENCE MEDIA EXPLORATION THE GREATEST EXPEDITIONS BEGIN WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART RESOURCES. INTRODUCING ALUCIA. A UNIQUE BLEND OF RESEARCH CAPABILITIES WITH MEDIA EXPERTISE.
INFINITE POSSIBILITIES.
The ALUCIA The M/V Alucia is a 56 meter research and exploration vessel built to broaden our scientific understanding of the ocean and illuminate its myriad natural wonders. Her launch and recovery platform facilitate a wide range of diving and submersible operations. She boasts the latest in technical diving, filming and scientific research equipment. She contains two subs the Triton 3300/3 and the Deep Rover 2 both of which are rated for a maximum depth of 1000 meters. The M/V Alucia also features unrivaled film production capabilities and the latest in nautical expedition media technology, via her working relationship with Alucia Productions.
SCIENCE FOR MORE INFO:
Who We Are We are scientists, filmmakers, engineers, conservationists, oceanographers and team players on a mission to illuminate natural wonders and further our scientific understanding of the world s oceans. From the exploration of deep sea hydrothermal vents to 4k aerial cinematography we have the experts on hand to answer the most challenging technical oceanographic questions. Our experienced team can help navigate the complexities of acquiring scientific permits to effective outreach and education on location. TO LEARN MORE CONTACT: info@aluciaproductions.com
What We Do The Alucia s mission to promote greater scientific knowledge of ocean life has taken her around the world in pursuit of a wide range of major research expeditions. By chartering her, you provide your research team with one of the most fully-equipped and skillful vessels in existence. To date, the Alucia has already completed many significant expeditions, including:» Bioluminescence- Solomon islands AMNH» Argos oceanographic profiler deployments in the Pacific» Behavioral and physiological study of Sperm whales in New Zealand» Satellite Manta Tagging in Raja Ampat» Coral drilling to study climate change in Micronesia In addition to the ship s vast expedition capabilities, the film and media expertise of Alucia Productions offers any scientific mission the opportunity to utilize the most advanced floating studio on the seven seas. CONTACT SCIENCE CHARTERS Alessandro Bocconcelli abocconcelli@whoi.edu
Latest Expeditions Some of Alucia s most recent missions include the discovery of an Air France plane downed off the Brazilian coast. Using her on-board Triton submarine, the Alucia tracked and captured the first ever footage of a living giant squid. Alucia has aided in the discovery of several previously unknown bio-flourescent species. Many of these discoveries have provided new insight into workings of the human brain.
Partnerships To facilitate our mission, the Alucia and Alucia Productions have partnered with some of the world s leading foundations and scientific organizations: Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute American Museum of Natural History New York National Geographic National Fish and Wildlife Federation Conservation International CONSERVATION INTERNATIONAL
