Outward facing to other initiatives Third Party Collaborations, JV s, NHBC Home User Guide BRE Evidence based role acting as Data Hub promoting Built Case Studies and POE role Engaged in Wellbeing & Satisfaction research and testing of survey methods and analysis tools. Focus on Carrot rather than Stick SHAP Housing Standards should aim for an evidence based, evolutionary, cross-tenure approach which augments mandatory targets and provides sound advisory guidance.

3 Our research recommends the SHAP performance standard document consists of 3 different information formats: 1) a standards library of existing documentation 2) a performance standards matrix of recommended targets 3) an evaluation chart for ongoing target analysis and development. Standards library: A compiled list of existing policy documents, guidance notes and research Proposed as an open list on editable interface (eg. Google document or dedicated wiki) Maintained by SHAP as ongoing/updated list of policy docs and case studies in the housing field. Links out to latest online version of cited sources.

4 Standards matrix: Setting targets under pre-agreed topics; outlining current minima, proposing initial targets and future stretch targets (Current minimum > SHAP 2020 > SHAP 2025?) Proposed as open spreadsheet for ongoing editing and contribution by others Creation of working groups or topic champions for research and workshops into each category

5 Wellbeing given role as summary/results of other categories Opportunity for recommendation of Post Occupancy Evaluation Joint Ventures with other organisations in health and wellbeing research sector? Publication of outcomes and case studies? Feedback from regional partners (eg, BMHT) on resident surveys and varying cultural desires and needs that might influence the weighting of standards and the evolving categories

6 Evaluation chart: A comparative tool to assist in judging housing quality between the topics and across housing projects The creation of a graphical evaluation chart, summarising the recommendations in the standards matrix Framework for use by topic working groups and project consultants in meetings and workshops The overlaying of a scoring system to simplify and structure cross project dialogue
