Overview The VIP200 series allws pint t pint, pint t many, many t pint, and many t many cnfiguratins. The VIP200 series is set t wrk ut f the bx as a pint t pint system, n cnfiguratin is necessary, simply plug them tgether using CAT5e r better cable. The VIP200 series can wrk ut f the bx this way because it emplys its wn Aut IP addressing methd. If yu are using the VIP200 series thrugh a netwrk switch, yu will need t determine if the switch is using DHCP r assigned IP addressing methds. In either f these cases, yu wuld then need t cnfigure the VIP200 devices t DHCP r Manual IP addressing methds. The VIP200 series prvides three mdes f addressing. Aut IP Addressing The VIP200 system default cnfiguratin prvides autmatic IP addressing in the 169.254.xxx.xxx range. The Aut IP methd prvides instant and easy setup and peratin f the VIP200 devices when a specific manual IP address methd is nt required, and DHCP is nt required. Methds t determine Aut IP assignments There are tw ways t determine the Aut IP assignments f the transmitters and receivers. 1. On Screen Display Once the receiver discvers the transmitter that equals the channel it is assigned t, it will display bth Aut IP addresses in the lwer right crner when n vide signal is present. If a vide signal is present, yu can request display f the hst (transmitter) and client (receiver) with the fllwing remte cntrl buttns: 2. Netwrk Discvery This methd is available nly when the transmitter(s) and receiver(s) are cnnected tgether via a netwrk switch, and a cmputer running the VPX discvery tl is utilized. The cmputer s ip4v address must be set within the 169.254.xxx.xxx range t detect the devices. Please see the Discvery f Devices Utilizing Aut IP sectin in this manual. Manual IP Addressing The VIP200 device IP addresses can be cnfigured manually. Using ur simple sftware applicatin t identify the devices Aut IP address, yu can then access their built in web page interface t change the devices t Manual IP mde. Manual IP addressing is utilized when the netwrk is nt DHCP, and the Aut IP range 169.254.xxx.xxx des nt wrk with the current netwrk, r the intended design. These settings are nrmally dne prir t adding n t a netwrk. Please see the Setting Devices fr Manual IP Addressing in this manual. DHCP Addressing The VIP200 device IP addresses can be cnfigured t accept IP addresses using DHCP. Using ur simple sftware applicatin t identify the devices, yu can then access their built in web page interface t change the devices t DHCP IP mde. 4
One Transmitter t One Receiver Setup (pint t pint extensin) Pint t Pint direct cnnectin via CAT5e r better cable (Aut IP mde recmmended) The Transmitter and Receiver ship in Aut IP mde, which allws them t discver each ther with n cnfiguratin required. While it is pssible t recnfigure the transmitter and receiver t Manual IP r DHCP IP mde, there is n value t making these changes, unless yu need them t be n an existing netwrk and nt cnnected pint t pint (direct). Cnnect the transmitter and receiver tgether using a CAT5e r better cable. Cnnect yur surce t the input f yur transmitter Cnnect a display t the utput f yur receiver If desired, cnnect yur cnfidence mnitr t the lp ut f the transmitter (VIP200H-tx) Cnnect the pwer adapters fr each unit, and apply pwer. The system will g thrugh a nrmal btup sequence that takes apprximately ten secnds t display the image. KVM Operatin The receiver has fur USB prts, the first tw perate at 1.1 speeds, the third and furth prts perate at 2.0 speeds. Please use prts 3 and 4 when using a muse r keybard via USB t ensure ultra lw latency. Typical reference streaming rates Use f USB may add up t 50 mpbs t stream rate, depending n the USB device(s). 5
Remte Cntrl Initial setup f remte cntrl NOTE: In pint t pint cnfiguratin, many f the remte functins are nt valuable/applicable, as they are meant fr managing multiple transmitters r receivers. A remte being used fr the first time, r after battery replacement, needs t be assigned an ID The universal ID that will cntrl all receivers is 8. Press the Pwer and 8 buttn at the same time. Typical remte cntrl peratin fr Pint t Pint Operatin OSD will clear ten secnds frm displaying any menu. Display MAC address Menu, 0, Enter Display Lcal (Receiver) address Menu, 1, Enter Display Hst (Transmitter) address Menu, 2, Enter Display Receiver Firmware Menu, 5, Enter Restart Link Menu, 6, Enter Stp Link Menu, 7, Enter Enable Channel Buttns n Receiver Menu, 26, Enter 6
Disable Channel Buttns n Receiver Menu, 27, Enter Display Selected Channel Enter Set t Factry Default Menu, 333, Enter Receiver rebt Menu, 999, Enter It is typical in a pint t pint system that the transmitter is set n channel 0. The receiver must match in rder t receive the signal. Setting the units t factry default will set the transmitter t channel 0 and Aut IP, and the receiver t listen fr channel 0 and Aut IP. Mute/unmute image Press the Pwer buttn t tggle mute/unmute. Nte: there is an apprximate fur secnd delay t unmute. 7
