Bar Tab Settings 1. Open CRE/RPE. 2. Select the Manager r Optins buttn. 3. Enter the administratr passwrd (default: admin) where applicable. 4. Select Setup then, Setup Screen. 5. Select the Payment Prcessing tab. Here is where all the ptins are set fr the Bar Tabs. 6. Select the Other Optins tab. 7. Pre-Authrize Credit Cards (Bar Tabs) fr $ When a card is pre-authrized, this is the amunt that it will be authrized fr. 8. Pre-Authrize Cards Prmpt Will frce the authrized amunt t be the amunt set in the Pre-Authrize Credit Cards ptin. Use the amunt frm the Pre-Authrize Credit Cards ptin as default, but will allw the user t change the amunt. 9. When Starting a New Tab this cntrls hw the New Tab buttn behaves. D Nthing this ptin will prmpt fr a name, and g straight int the invice screen. Frce Credit Card Pre-Auth immediately displays the credit card screen s yu can swipe the custmer s card. It desn t allw yu t start a new tab unless a credit card was successfully pre-authrized. Allw Pre-Auth t be Bypassed asks if yu want t preauthrize a card. If yu select n, then it will behave the same as the D Nthing ptin. 2 P a g e
10. Select the Tips tab and set Print Tip Line n CC Invices t Yes. It is als recmmended t enable the ptin Keep Check Open Until Tip Applied. Nte: The ptin Prmpt Fr Tip Immediately After Sale can t be used with the bar tabs feature. When any f the Bar Tabs ptins have been cnfigured n the ther ptins tab this ptin will be disabled and grayed ut. 11. Select Update when finished. In rder t use Bar Tabs the restaurant must be setup in ne f the fllwing ways: The Business type Must be using A Fine-Dining Restaurant with Table Service. Or The Business type Must be using A Quick-Service Restaurant with Cunter Service with the ptin Prmpt Table enabled (n the Functinality tab f the Restaurant Features sectin f the Setup Screen). T set the Business type select File then chse Select Business Type frm the Lgin Screen then enter yur credentials. Yu will then be able t select the business type yu wuld like t use. 3 P a g e
Bar Tabs Implementatin T start a new bar tab, lgin t RPE select the New buttn n the Open Tabs screen. If the ptin When Starting a New Tab is set t Allw Pre-Auth t be Bypassed: Yu will be prmpted t whether r nt yu wuld like t start a credit card tab (Bar tab), select Yes. If yu have the ptin Pre-Authrize Cards Prmpt set t Use Amunt as Suggested, then yu will be given a chance t change hw much the card shuld be authrized fr. If yu have the ptin Pre-Authrize Cards Prmpt set t Frce Preset Amunt, then yu will nly be able t pre-authrize the custmer s card fr the amunt specified in the Pre-Authrize Credit Cards (Bar Tabs) fr $ field. 4 P a g e
Next, yu will be presented with the credit card screen. Swipe the custmer s credit card int this screen. If yu are using a MSR that is reading the data frm Track 1 and 2, the custmer s name will be read frm the credit card at this time. Once the card prcesses, if the prgram was able t read the name frm the card, it will be used as the name fr the new tab. If the name read frm the card was Jhn Smith, then the tab name will be J.Smith. Nte: If tw Jhn Smith s pened tabs, the 2 nd ne will have a tab named J.Smith-2. If the prgram was unable t read the name frm the card, yu will be required t enter a name at this time. Nw yu can place items n the rder and put the invice n hld. Yu may recall and add mre items at any time. Once yu are ready t cmplete the invice, just select the Pay buttn. This will display the amunt tendered screen. When Pay is selected yu will be ntified that a Pre-authrized card available t cmplete the invice. Yu will then be able t pay ut the invice with any ther tender type if the custmer wuld nt like t clse the invice t the card that was pre-authrized. 5 P a g e
If the Credit Card buttn is pressed, the prgram will ntify yu that a card has already been pre-authrized fr the rder, and ask if yu want t use it t cmplete the sale. Press Yes t charge the pre-authrized card. Press N t display the credit card screen and use a different card. The transactin will then be clsed. 6 P a g e
Bar Tabs Other Optins Yu can als setup a custm buttn t start a new tab, r change the credit card that is currently assciated with the invice. 1. Open CRE/RPE. 2. Select the Manager r Optins buttn. 3. Enter the administratr passwrd (default: admin) where applicable. 4. Select Setup then, Tuch Screen Cnfiguratin. 5. On the General tab: Select ne f the buttns at the bttm f the screen diagram. Use the drpdwn t select the Credit Card Inf ptin under Select this buttn s functin. Select Display this Buttn. Enter a Captin (This is what will be displayed n the buttn). Optinally select a Picture t be displayed n the buttn. 6. Select Save & Exit when finished. 7 P a g e
