Quill News December 2011 3 Tool Caddy I had this little box in my stash and knew I had to put it with December s kit to create this project. The spiral tool and the magnetic strip and calendar were a perfect match with the box; now I have a place for my tools. The beautiful quilling strips and double sided paper pad added fun color and detail to the project. I even added a decorative bead to my spiral tool. I thought this made the tool easier to find and a little less likely to roll away not to mention it added a bit of whimsy!
Quill News December 2011 4 con t from pg3 TP Tag I was looking at the little recycled toilet paper album I made for my daughter a while back and thought hmmm if I only used one tube it would make a cute tag that you could tuck a card inside of. So I did!! A bit of everything from the December kit with an added eyelet, some ribbon in a single punched hole to hang and you have a CAG or would it be a TARD?? Whatever you call it it is a cute way to reuse/recycle those little scraps of this & that and those toilet paper tubes also. Ring in the New Year Card This card is what they call a stepper card; I googled for the template. With the two sided Paper Pizazz cardstock I had tons of possibilities for color. I stamped the violin twice, colored with copics then put pop dots in between for dimension. I also stamped the music measures TIP! - stamp them on a separate piece of paper then adhere to card. I used Sizzix dies to cut the music notes and the 2012. A Fleur de Lis Spellbinder die was used to cut the background for the violin. An EK success Fleur de Lis edger punch was used for the blue paper background for the sentiment. The ivy, birch leaf and blossom are all punch bunch punches. I printed out the Ring in the New Year on my computer. For the finishing touch I added some spirals and scrolls made with the quilling strips.
Quill News December 2011 5 Blue Rose and Cone Flower Box I have an assortment of pretty soap boxes to alter and the blue cardstock and strips were a perfect match for it. The punched open rose was made from the soft blue two sided card stock. The coneflowers have bell shaped fringed centers and curved marquise petals made from the coordinating strips in the winter pack. Punched accent flowers and leaves completes this pretty gift box that is a gift itself.
Quill News December 2011 con t from pg5 6 Grape Vine Card The elegant swirl leaf stickers were inked with a soft green and used as a base for the grapes and vine. Two of the long swirls were left silver and make a pretty border. The spiral tool was used to make a nice long vine from a brown strip for the quilled dome grape clusters to hang from. I inked a piece of the textured cream card stock with green and brown to age it a bit and also die cut the sentiment panel. A few punched leaves were added for dimension. Desk Calendar (Monthly Kit Pattern) This is an easy project to make for your own desk or for a quick gift. It used 1 12 x 12 piece of cardstock. It has plenty of room for the calendar pad included in the kit with room for quilled embellishments. I choose red and black for my color scheme but you could use any of the other colors included in the winter strip assortment for yours.
