See instructions to cut the daisy petals See instructions to cut the daisy centers See instructions to cut the daisy petals See instructions to cut the daisy centers See instructions to cut the poppy centers See instructions to cut the poppy See instructions to cut the poppy See instructions to cut the poppy centers Cut one 6" x 42" strip for one rose Cut one 6" x 42" strip for one rose 1/4 seam allowance, sew down one long side of the folded fabric (Fig. 1). Repeat with the remaining two 1 1/2 x 42 strips. Turn the three sewn strips right side out. Cut the strips in half to make six stems. Turn under one short end on each stem a 1/4 and then a second 1/4 to make a closed finished edge. Top stitch the folded end close (Fig. 2). Repeat with one end of each of the remaining stems. Slide one 1/8 dowel into each stem and close the other end of the stem. Turn under the open short end on each stem a 1/4 and then a second 1/4 to make a closed finished edge (Fig. 3). Top stitch the end close careful not to stitch over the wood dowel. This will create a scunchy fabric stem. Cut out the leaf template from the pattern. Fold the remaining green fabric in half, right sides together and press. Trace twelve leaves onto the top layer of green fabric with a fabric pencil. Cut out each leaf template from the two layers of green fabric. Sew around each leaf pair, leaving an opening for turning (Fig. 4). Assembly Instructions Daisy 6. 7. 8. Cut out the daisy petal and daisy center templates from the pattern. Fold the yellow fabric in half, right sides together and press. Place the folded fabric on top of a piece of batting and pin the folded fabric and batting together. Trace the eight daisy petals and two flower centers onto the fabric side of the folded fabric/batting sandwich using the petal template and fabric pencil. Place a pin through the folded fabric and batting in the middle of each drawn petal or flower center. 9. 10. Cut out each flower petal sandwich and flower center sandwich. Turn each petal right side out through the opening at the bottom and press. Repeat with the remaining petals. 11. Stitch all the way around the flower center. Clip the curved edges of the flower center. Make a small slit in the top layer fabric to turn the flower center right side out (Fig. 2). (The slit side will be glued to the petals and will not show in the finished flower.) Repeat with the flower center. Fig. 5 12. 13. 14. 15. Repeat Steps 2-6 with the orange fabric to make eight more daisy petals and two flower center. Arrange seven yellow petals on top of a work surface (Fig. 7). Once you have the petals the way you like them, apply glue to one orange flower center on the slit side and press down onto the center of the petals (Fig. 8). Let the glue dry. Carefully pick up the orange center with the petals glued to it and flip it over so the glued orange center is on the bottom. Position a stem from Step 3 on the flower and glue in place (Fig. 9). Glue the remaining orange center on top of the petals and stem (Fig. 10). Glue two leaves to the stem to complete the daisy. Repeat Steps 13-15 to make a orange daisy with a yellow center. (You will only need five petals.) Repeat with the three poppy center circles to make six poppy center petals (Fig. 13). (You will only need five petals.) Turn all the poppy petals and poppy center petals right side out and press. Carefully pull the stitches tight gathering the fabric on the thread to form the first petal (Fig. 15). DO NOT CUT THREAD. Fold the blue print fabric in half, right sides together and press. Trace the three poppy circles using the poppy template and fabric pencil. Place a pin through the folded fabric in the middle of each drawn poppy through both layers of fabric.
