1 April 17, 2018 Project: Bid No.: T18-003 900 Clark Avenue West, Thornhill, ON L4J 8C1 ward99 architects Project No. 16037 RE: Addendum No.3 Pages: 4 1.1 General 1.1.1 Addendum No.3 forms part of the Contract Documents and amends the drawings and specifications as noted below. 1.1.2 Receipt of this addendum shall be acknowledged on the Bid Form. 1.1.3 Clarification in response to submitted questions: 1.1.3.1 Question: Demolition Drawing: Please clarify what items to be demolished/removed are being re-used or disposed (refer to Drawing A2). Refer to Architectural Drawing A2, General Demolition Notes, Note 1 that indicates that all items noted to be demolished and/or removed are to be disposed of off-site unless noted otherwise. Refer to Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Drawings for additional noted demolition and removals. Refer to additional clarifications below. 1.1.3.2 Question: Washroom Accessories: Please clarify if items being installed are from existing demolished/removed items. Note #6 (on architectural drawing A6) related to hand dryers to be installed do not mention if re-use or new. Please note that there were four (4) hand dryer that were removed from the existing washroom, but there are five (5) to be installed. All existing four (4) hand dryers in the Existing Men s Washroom G105 and Existing Women s Washroom G106 are to be demolished as noted by demolition Note 17 on architectural drawing 1/A2 and as noted by Note 6 on Electrical Drawing E3. Electrical Drawing E3 indicates to demolish existing hand dryers and replace with new. Refer to architectural drawing 1/A6 and Electrical Drawing E5 for the location of all five (5) new hand dryers. Refer to Project Manual Section 10 28 13 Washroom Accessories page 5 of 7 and Section 26 60 20 - Electric Heaters for specification of new electric hand dryer. 1.1.3.3 Question: Referring to Drawing A4: are the MS-BAYS supplied by the Owner? Refer to Architectural Drawing A4, General Ground Floor Plan Notes, Note 10 that indicates MS refers to metal shelving. Note 10 indicates that the Owner is to supply and install metal shelving. 1.1.3.4 Question: As per the Schedule 1B Cash Allowance, it is mentioned that Cash Allowance (as described under item 1.24 in Project Manual, 01 10 00 General Instructions. Kindly specify the item no.1.24, since it has two different items which represent 1.2.4 and 1.2.4 respectively. For the list and description of Cash Allowance Items, refer to page 13 of 18 in the Project Manual, Section 01 10 00 General Instructions under paragraph 1.24 Cash Allowances. 1.1.3.5 Question: Can we use existing water and power for construction purposes? Refer to Project Manual Section 01 51 00 Temporary Utilities.
2 1.1.3.6 Question: Can we use the existing Library area for a site office? Refer to Project Manual 01 52 00 Construction Facilities. 1.1.3.7 Question: Does the demolition involve asbestos removal? Asbestos removal is not required in this facility. 1.1.3.8 Question: Can you specify PRE-FABRICATED WIER DECK LAVATORY SYSTEM shown on 2/A6 and give supplier? Refer to Project Manual Section 22 42 00 Plumbing Fixtures and Fittings, page 4. 1.1.3.9 Question: Phasing the project calls for 2 phases but all of the demolition work seems to fall under one. Do phases apply for demolition scope? All demolition work is to occur in Construction Phase One. Refer to Project Manual Section 01 10 00 General Instructions and notes on Architectural Drawing A1. 1.1.3.10 Question: Garbage Bin will the bin location be shared with other trades? What is the preferred route for the disposal through the building? Can the bin be placed closer to the entrance? All disposal bins must be located within the General Contractor Mobilization Area indicated on architectural drawing 1 on A1. It is the General Contractor s responsibility to coordinate all trades and their required disposal bins. During Construction Phase One, the route to exit the building can be from any door on the north side of the building (that is not within the Staff Area). During Construction Phase Two, the route to exit the building is the south door noted with the number 5 and as the Main Construction Entry on architectural drawings on A1. 1.2 Project Manual Project Manual Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical Specifications 1.2.1 No amendments to the Architectural and Mechanical Specifications in this addendum. 1.2.2 Electrical Addendum No. E-1 issued by WSP Canada and dated April 17, 2018 is hereby issued and forms an integral part of this Addendum. 1.3 Architectural Drawings 1.3.1 REF: Architectural Drawing A2; Architectural Drawing 1 on A2 Existing Demolition Ground Floor Plan 1.3.1.1 All lines noted as dashed indicate gypsum board finished steel stud partitions that are to be demolished and disposed of in their entirety from top of existing concrete slab to underside of existing roof assembly. Height to underside of existing roof assembly is approximately 8000mm. Refer to Construction Legend Note 2 on Architectural Drawing A4. 1.3.1.2 Demolish existing hollow metal door frame, screen frames and doors as noted by demolition notes 2 and 9 and demolish existing doors and door frames noted with dashed door swings including the existing doors and door frames to Existing Men s Wrm G105 and Existing Women s Wrm G106, existing door between Existing South Lobby G104 and Existing Corridor G129 and existing door between Existing Program Room G126 and Existing Corridor G114. 1.3.1.3 In Existing Family Washrooms G122 and G123, demolish existing recessed waste receptacles (total of 2), mirrors (total of 2) and coat hooks (total of 2). In Existing Family Washrooms G122 and G123, uninstall existing soap dispensers (total of 2), baby change tables (total of 2), paper towel dispensers (total of 2) and toilet tissue dispensers (total of 2) and hand over to the Owner. 1.3.1.4 In Existing Family Washrooms G122 and G123 and Existing Men s Washroom G105 and Existing Women s Washroom G106, demolish existing grab bars (total of 8). 1.3.1.5 In Existing Family Washroom G123, patch the opening at the location of the demolished waste receptacle with 16mm gypsum board and steel stud framing as required. 1.4 Structural Drawings and Specifications 1.4.1 No amendments to the Structural Drawings and Specifications in this Addendum.
