Floral Purse Card Set Designed By: Christy Fulk February, 2014 This project will give you a little Spring in the middle of this cold Winter. The set includes two different designed Thank You cards. The purse can hold six of these cards, along with matching lined envelopes. This card set would make a great gift for anyone who loves purses, and make a great class, too! Purse Instructions Step 1 Cut two, 6 x 7-1/2 pieces of Calypso Coral card stock. With the 7-1/2 side along the top of the Simply Scored scoring tool, score both pieces at 6. Die-cut the top, center of one of the pieces with the second, largest regular oval die in the Ovals Collection Framelits dies. Lay the die down so half of it is on top of the card stock as shown in the Step 1B picture, and run it through the Big Shot die-cutting machine. Do the same with second piece. Stamp all over both pieces with the largest flower stamp in the Peaceful Petals stamp set with Calypso Coral ink.
Step 1A Step 1B Step 1C Step 2 Cut one 5-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. Lay the scallop oval die and the second largest regular oval die from the Ovals Collection Framelits down onto the card stock as shown in the Step 2A picture. Run the piece through the Big Shot. Then, emboss the scallop oval frame by running it through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions embossing folder. Cut the oval frame in half as shown in the Step 2C picture. Step 2A Step 2B Step 2C Step 3 Attach one of the oval halves under the cut-out half oval on one of the Calypso Coral pieces from Step 1 using a 2-Way Glue Pen. Make sure to line the top, curved edge and ends of the scallop oval frame with the cut-out half oval of the Calypso Coral piece. Do the same with the other Calypso Coral piece and oval half.
Step 3 Step 4 Cut one 4 x 5 piece of Daffodil Delight card stock from the Brights Core dinations pack and one 4 x 5 piece of Crushed Curry card stock from the Regals Core dinations pack. Die-cut both pieces by running them through the Big Shot with the Spiral Flower Originals die. Make sure you have the textured side of both pieces on top when laying them onto the die. Both pieces can be die-cut at the same time. Sand the textured side of the die-cut pieces using the Stampin Sanding Block. Sand the scallop edges a little more than the rest. Step 4A Step 4B Step 5 Run the textured side of both spiral pieces across a Bone Folder, or the edge of a table, to make the card stock curl. Turn the pieces upside down, and spray with a Stampin Spritzer filled with 70% alcohol until just damp. Step 5A Step 5B Step 5C
Step 6 Lay the Daffodil Delight spiral piece on top of the Crushed Curry one. Hold the outside ends of both pieces together with angled-tip tweezers, and start wrapping the spiral strips into a tight roll. Step 6A Step 6B Step 6C Step 7 Continue wrapping the strips, and stopping once the last two scallops are reached. Remove the tweezers, and curve the last scallop on the end to the bottom of the flower. Step 7A Step 7B Step 7C Step 8 Loosen the wound up layers until the desired flower size is reached. Press the edges of the flower petals down to separate the petals. Step 8
Step 9 Put hot glue onto the top of the last scallops on both strips, and attach them to the bottom of the flower. Separate the two different color strips from each other a bit and keep pressing the petal edges down until desired look is achieved. Step 9A Step 9B Step 9C Step 10 Pull off a little piece of Simply Pressed Clay, and roll it into a ball. Get the flower mold from the Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds. Press the clay ball into the smallest flower in the mold. Step 10A Step 10B Step 11 Turn the mold over, and press it down against a flat, smooth surface. This will make the bottom of the flower flat and smooth. Rub off any excess clay that may be around the mold. This will help the flower come out easier. Bend the mold back as shown, and take the flower out gently. Set the flower aside, and let air-dry about 24 hours. Turn it upside down to let the bottom dry a few hours before the 24 hours is up. The flowers will still be pushy, but the design will stay intact.
Step 11A Step 11B Step 11C Step 12 After the clay has dried, color the top and sides of the flower with a Gumball Green Stampin Write marker. Set aside to let the ink dry. Once the ink is dry, put hot glue into the center of the card stock flower, and insert the clay flower into the glue. Let cool. Step 12A Step 12B Step 12C Step 13 Cut two 6 x 1-1/2 pieces of multi-colored chevron paper from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (DSP) and two 6 x 2 pieces of Daffodil Delight card stock. Punch one 6 edge from each Daffodil Delight piece using the Scallop Edge Border punch. Attach a DSP strip onto each Daffodil Delight piece. Attach a strip about a 1/2 above the scored line on each Calypso Coral piece of card stock from before. Attach the card stock flower to the right side of one of the strips using hot glue. Step 13
Step 14 Put Sticky Strip across the bottom edge of the Calypso Coral piece without the flower (purse back), and another strip just under the scored line. Remove the red film from the Sticky Strip, and attach the bottom flap of the Calypso Coral piece with the flower (purse front) onto the Sticky Strip, lining the flaps together. Step 14A Step 14B Step 15 Cut two 11 x 1 pieces of Calypso Coral card stock. Run the strips across a Bone Folder, or a table edge, to get the card stock to curl. Put two strips of Sticky Strip onto the outside of both ends of both strips. Attach one strip to the top of the purse front and one onto the purse back. Step 15A Step 15B Step 15C Step 15D Step 16 Cut two 2 x 4-1/2 pieces of multi-colored chevron paper from the Watercolor Wonder DSP. With a 2 side along the top of the Simply Scored scoring tool, score at 1/4, 1, and 1-3/4. Do the same with the other piece. Put Sticky Strip onto the narrow, side strips on both pieces. Fold the two side scored lines back, and the center scored line forward on both pieces.
Step 16A Step 16B Step 16C Step 16D Step 17 Remove the red film from one of the strips. Attach the strip to the inside of the purse back along one of the sides, lining the bottom of the DSP to the scored line. Remove the red film from the other Sticky Strip, and attach it to the inside of the purse front the same way. Do the same with the other DSP strip and the other side of the purse. Step 17A Step 17B Step 17C
Card #1 Instructions Purse Front Purse Side Purse Back Card #1 Step 1 Cut one 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and fold it in half to make the card base. Cut one 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Crisp Cantaloupe card stock. Emboss the Crisp Cantaloupe piece by running it through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots embossing folder. Attach the embossed piece to the card base front. Cut one 4 x 1-1/2 piece of Daffodil Delight/Calypso Coral floral paper from the Watercolor Wonder DSP and one 4 x 2 piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. Step 1A Step 1B Step 2 Cut one 2 x 4 piece of Natural White card stock. Stamp the multi-flower stamp from the Peaceful Petals stamp set onto the center of the piece using Jet Black StazOn ink. Watercolor the flower using a Blender Pen in the following colors Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Gumball Green. Get the ink by pressing the top and bottom of each ink pad together in the middle. Open the ink pads up. With the Blender Pen, pick up ink from the little pools of ink that were made in the ink pads lids. Make sure to clean the Blender Pen in-between each color by brushing it onto a scrap piece of paper until the pen brushes clear. Step 2A Step 2B Step 3 Cut one 2-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. Attach the flower piece to the top of it. Attach the whole thing to the left side of the card front. Stamp the thank you stamp from the Peaceful Petals stamp set onto a scrap piece of Naturals White card stock using Calypso Coral ink. Punch it out with the Large Oval punch. Punch out a scallop oval from a scrap piece of Calypso Coral card stock using the Scallop Oval punch. Attach the greeting oval to the scallop oval. Attach it to the top right of the card using two Stampin Dimensionals.
Step 3A Step 3B Step 4 Cut one 6 x 6 piece of the same DSP as the card. Die-cut the piece using the largest die in the Envelope Liners Framelits dies. Put SNAIL adhesive onto the back of the top flap section of the liner only. Step 4A Step 4B Step 5 Insert the liner all the way into a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Press the DSP flap section onto the inside of the envelope flap to attach the liner to the envelope. Fold the envelope flap down to score the envelope liner. Step 5A Step 5B
Step 6 Repeat Card #1 Steps 1-5 two more times to make a total of three cards. Card #2 Instructions Card #2 Step 1 Cut one 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 piece of Calypso Coral card stock, one 3 x 3-3/4 piece of Gumball Green chevron paper from the Watercolor Wonder DSP, and one 4 x 2 piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. Fold the Calypso Coral piece in half to make the card base. Emboss the Daffodil Delight piece by running it through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots embossing folder. Attach the DSP to the left side of the card base, and attach the embossed piece, lining the right side of it with the bottom right side of the card base. Step 1
Step 2 Cut one 3 x 2 piece and one 2-1/2 x 1/2 piece of Naturals White card stock, and cut one 3-1/2 x 2-1/2 piece of Gumball Green card stock. Stamp the smallest single flower stamp from the Peaceful Petals stamp set onto the center of the 3 x 2 piece of Naturals White card stock using Jet Black StazOn ink.
