Project name: Back to School Back Pack with Love Notes! Stamp Sets: Circle Circus, Wow Flowers Inks: Soft Suede, Melon Mambo Paper: Soft Suede, Melon Mambo, Whisper white Accessories: 20 inches of Chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, Stamping dimensionals, Eyelets. Tools: Crop-a-dile, Punches 1 ¼, 1, ¾, ½, scallop, corner rounder Virginia Killmore directions adapted from Kim Lanagan Created By: Virginia Killmore www.virginias website.blogspot.com Template included for backpack. Ribbon is 20 inches long and tied at top ends of backpack. DO NOT ASSEMBLE BACKPACK UNTIL ALL STEPS ARE FINISHED. Instructions: 1. Score and cut all parts for the back pack. 2. Set aside scraps of Melon Mambo and soft suede for card. 3. Use corner rounder on top and pocket tops. 4. Assemble small pocket. I attach the top flap to the inside of the pocket and do the same for the top flap of the backpack. Sticky Strip is the best to use to assemble the pocket and backpack. 5. Using your crop-a-dile punch 4 holes for back pack straps. They should be close to each corner of the back side of the backpack. This is important, as the crop-a-dile can only reach so far from each corner to set the eyelets. 6. Take the ribbon and tie a knot as close to the end of the ribbon as you can. Take the other end of ribbon and start from inside bottom of the backpack, and pull ribbon thru then go in at top, then back out thru the other top and then back in thru the bottom and tie another knot as close to the end of ribbon as you can. Adjust ribbon. 7. Put backpack together using sticky strip for the side. I used glue for the bottoms but you can also use sticky strip if you would like. Just make sure the last flap of bottom is facing the back of the backpack. Carefully push the top opening of backpack together so your top will easily close over the top of the backpack. Attach finished pocket to backpack about ½ inch from bottom of the backpack. 8. Use half a Velcro circle for closure of top and pocket. I stick the Velcro to the front flap then attach the bottom Velcro piece to the first Velcro piece and close it so that the bottom sticks to pocket and bag. Follow same procedure for pocket flap. Project Name: Floating Layered Flowers Created By: Cherie Franklin stampcrave@hotmail.com Stamps: Upsy Daisy stamp set Ink: Bashful Blue classic pad, Barely Banana classic pad, More Mustard, Old Olive and Apricot Appeal Markers Paper: Bashful Blue C/S, Tea Party DS paper, Shimmery White C/S Accessories: Clearly Thanks Printed window sheets, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Summer Cord Button, Assorted Clips, Chit Chat Rub-ons, Sponge, Aqua Painter, 1/16 Circle punch Paper Dimensions: 5 ½ x 8 ½ Bashful Blue 5 ¼ x 4 Tea Party DS Paper 2 ¾ x 3 ¾ Bashful Blue 2 ¾ x 3 ¾ Printed Window Sheet 2 ½ x 3 ½ Shimmery White Start out by folding your Bashful Blue card base and attach the Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon across the middle of the Tea Party panel and adhere it to your card base and set aside. Ink up the Upsy Daisy Flowers stamp with the markers listed above by coloring directly on the stamp, using the olive for the stems and the apricot for the flowers and then going back over the bottoms of the flowers with the More Mustard Marker. Stamp in the center of the Shimmery white panel. Use the fine point of the More Mustard to go over the bottoms of the flowers after stamping if needed to add a few details. Press on both the lids of the Bashful Blue and Barely Banana classic pads and open them. Use the Aqua Painter brush to pick up the Bashful Blue ink off the lid, using very little water and water color around the flowers over the whole panel. I mixed in some of the Barely Banana ink to create a softer blue. You can also use the tip of a wedge of sponge to sponge around the flowers. Adhere the stamped flower panel to the Bashful Blue layer and then place the printed window sheet over the top making sure the printed stems are at the bottom of your stamped flowers. Punch a hole on the left side through all three layers and attach a cord brad. Then attach the clip to the other side, insert a piece of taffeta ribbon and tie to the clip. The clip will hold the window sheet in place on the other side. Attach to the card base. Choose a rub-on greeting from the Chit Chat selection and adhere it on top of the window sheet at the top of the flowers. Paper Crafters Sampler Page 9 of 9
