Baroque Motifs Christmas Gift Set Designed By: Monika A Davis December 2011 Make this quick and easy ornament that can hang on your tree or use as a pretty 3D gift tag. The matching mini gift bag and greeting card will make this a fabulous gift set for anyone. Gift Box Instructions Step 1 (Pom-poms) Note: The pom-poms on the projects are very small. For the purpose of giving you a better visual, I made a much bigger pom-pom for the tutorial! Cut nine 18 and nine 5 Cherry Cobbler Baker s Twine strips to make nine pom-poms. (If you desire bigger and/or puffier pom-poms, add extra yardage to your strips.) Tape one end of a longer strip to a fork, and wrap it around two of the prongs. When done, secure the other end to the fork with a piece of tape so it doesn t come undone. Using the shorter strip, tie it loosely around the center of wrapped twine, take tape off and slip twine off the fork. Then tighten twine, and double knot it. Next, cut around the outside edge of the pom-pom with Paper Snips until all the loops are cut apart. Now you can poof up the pom-pom as desired and cut extra-long pieces off.
Step 1a Step 1b Step 1c Step 1d Step 1e Step 1f Step 2 (Gift Bag) Die cut two Top Note shapes out of Real Red card stock using a Tope Note die and Big Shot. These will be the front and back panels of the small gift bag. Punch an oval out on both for the handles with a Small Oval punch. Step 3 Place a 2-½ x 4-¼ piece of Whisper White card stock on your Top Note die, about ¾ from bottom edge, and die-cut it. Stamp the swirl image from the Baroque Motifs stamp set with Real Red ink in the top right corner. Next, emboss panel with the Square Lattice embossing folder. Sponge edges with Chocolate Chip ink using a Sponge Dauber.
Step 3 Cut two 1 x 4-¼ Chocolate Chip strips and punch edge with an Eyelet Border punch. Attach border pieces to white panel, trim excess off, and then attach it to one of the Top Note die-cuts. Step 5 Cut two 4-1/8 x 5/8 strips of Whisper White card stock for banners. Score strips at 1, 1-1/8, 3-1/8, and 3-2/8. Stamp Merry Christmas greeting from Season of Joy stamp set with Chocolate Chip ink in middle of strips. (Use a Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up image perfectly.) Cut a triangle out from both ends of banners, and then sponge them. Fold banner at score lines. Step 5
Step 6 Die-cut six holly leaves out of Old Olive card stock using the Stocking Accents die and Big Shot machine. Crumple and sponge leaves with Chocolate Chip ink using a Sponge Dauber. Step 7 Decorate front panel of bag. First attach banner, using Stampin Dimensionals (underneath the middle part, where greeting is stamped), and SNAIL adhesive (end of the banner). Then attach holly leaves and pom-poms with Mini Glue Dots. Finally, add Basic Pearl Jewels. Step 8 (Box) Cut a 4 x 8-1/2 piece of rectangle out of Real Red card stock. Score at ½, 3-½, 4, 4-½, 7-½, and 8, then turn rectangle once and score at 3 along the long side. The 1 strip will be the bottom flaps of the box. Cut flaps at ½, 3-½, 4-1/2, and 7-½. Adhere box together, then add front and back panel. Ornament Instructions Step 8 Step 1 Punch a 2 circle out of Whisper White card stock. Stamp swirl image with Real Red ink, then sponge edges with Chocolate Chip ink. Distress edges. Cut a 3-½ x 1 strip and score it at ½, 1-½, 2, and 3. Attach two ends to make a box shape. This will serve as a riser under the circle so that it sits closer to the lid. Attach box to inside of ornament, then adhere circle shape on top of the box. Step 1
Step 2 Punch a hole with 1/16 Circle punch on top lid of ornament. Attach a 6 piece of Cherry Cobbler Baker s Twine as the hanger. Step 2 Step 3 Add Mica Flakes inside of ornament, then seal top and bottom together with adhesive. Decorate outside of ornament with banner, holly leaves, and pom-poms. Card Instructions Step 1 Cut a 4-¼ x 8-1/2 piece of Real Red card stock and fold it in half. This will be the card base. Step 2 Cut a 2-½ x 4-¼ strip of Whisper White card stock. Stamp the swirl image from Baroque Motifs stamp set with Real Red ink in the top right corner. Next, emboss panel with Square Lattice embossing folder.
