Birthday Card Organizer Designed By: Zeva Cho April 2010 This Birthday Card Organizer will help you organize your family members and friends birthdays. Each monthly file folder holds a calendar card for you to write down your special someone s birthday. Plus, there is room to hold your handmade birthday cards that you make! Birthday Card Organizer Bottom Instructions Step 1 Use the Paper Cutter to cut the 12 x 12 Rose Red textured card stock to 12 x 10-1/4. Step 2 Use the Paper Cutter with the scoring blade to score the 12 x 10-1/4 piece of Rose Red textured card stock according to Diagram A (score lines are noted by the dotted lines).

Diagram A 1/2" 10-1/4" 2" 3" 4-3/4" 2" 2" 2-3/4" Step 2 Step 3 Adhere the 12 x 2-3/4 piece of circle pattern Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper (DSP) on the outside, top portion of the bottom piece with an Anywhere Glue Stick. Step 3

Step 4 Use the Paper Cutter with the cutting blade to cut off the pieces that are shown in white in Diagram A. Use the Paper Snips to cut out the triangular parts in the flap areas (Step 4b). Add Sticky Strip to the inside of the flap areas (Step 4b). Sticky Step 4a Step 4a Step 4b Step 5 To make the organizer bottom sturdier, cut three pieces of chipboard to the following dimensions: (a) 5-7/8 x 4-5/8 (b) 5-7/8 x 2-7/8 (c) 5-7/8 x 1-7/8 Note: Each DSP pack comes with chipboard, which you can use. Step 6 Apply Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive to cover the middle sections of the bottom piece. Adhere to the chipboard pieces.

Step 6 Step 6 Step 7 Use the Paper Cutter with the scoring blade to score the 5-15/16 x 9-3/4 piece of Rose Red dot pattern Sweet Pea DSP along the 9-3/4 side at 2 and 5 (see Diagram A). Check to see if the piece fits inside the bottom before adhering to the chipboard. If needed, make small adjustments by re-scoring inside the box with the bone folder. Trim the top and bottom edges that overhang. Once everything fits, use the Anywhere Glue Stick to adhere the piece to the chipboard. Note: Glue one section at a time (middle section first). Remove the red liner from the Sticky Strip on the center flap and adhere to the dot pattern DSP piece. Step 7 Step 7

Step 8 Add Sticky Strip to both sides of the 3 x 2 outer flaps near the bottom (Step 8a). Remove red liner from the Sticky Strip on the side flaps and adhere to create part of the bottom base (Step 8b). Adhere Sticky Strip to the sides to form the organizer bottom (Step 8c). Step 8a Step 8b Step 8c Step 9 Add small amounts of Sticky Strip below the DSP area and the front of the organizer bottom (Step 9a). Remove the red liner from the Sticky Strip and adhere the 18 piece of 5/8 Chocolate Chip satin ribbon, starting offcentered (Step 9b). To cover the seam of the ribbon, use a few Mini Glue Dots to adhere the small flower and leaf from the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt set (Step 9c). Step 9a Step 9b Step 9c

Place Sticky Strip on the 3/8 flap area. Step 12 Apply Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive to cover the middle section of the top piece part 1 from Step 10. Adhere the two pieces from Step 11.

Step 12 Step 12 Step 13 Use the Paper Cutter with the scoring blade to score the 11-1/4 x 6-1/4 piece of Chocolate Chip dot pattern Sweet Pea DSP along the 11-1/4 side at 4 and 7-1/4. This is your top lid liner and it used to cover the seams. Check to see if the liner fits on the top piece before adding any glue. Use the cutting blade to trim both ends by 1/8 so that it will fit under the 3/8 flaps. Step 14 Apply Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive to the middle section and adhere the liner at the center. Step 14 Step 14 Step 15 Next apply Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive to the sides (Step 15a). Adhere the two sides labeled #1 to the DSP liner first and then the side labeled #2. Repeat on the other side. Remove the red liner from the Sticky Strips and adhere to give the edge of the lid a finished look (Step 15b).

1 1 2 Step 15a Step 15b Step 16 Print out the file with the Birthday Calendar File Folder Months on 8-1/2 x 11 Whisper White card stock. Use the Paper Cutter with the cutting blade to cut the Birthday Card Organizer to 4 x 7/8 (shown in red). Save the month file labels for Step 21. Use the Paper Snips to cut the end in a triangular shape. Adhere to the front of the lid with Stampin Dimensionals. Step 16

Step 17 From the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt set, adhere the leaves to the two flowers with Mini Glue Dots. Adhere the larger flower to the lid next to the label from Step 16 with a Pop-Up Glue Dot. Adhere the smaller flower to the lid with Mini Glue Dots and Stampin Dimensionals. File Folders Instructions Step 17 Step 18 Use the Paper Cutter with the scoring blade to score the twelve 9 x 5-7/8 pieces of Chocolate Chip card stock in half at 4-1/2. Score from the center in three 1-/8 intervals (4-5/8, 4-3/4, and 4-7/8 ) to allow the file folder to expand, if needed. This will be the front of the file folder. Step 18

Step 19 Use the Anywhere Glue Stick to adhere the 5-7/8 x 4 pieces of Sweet Pea DSP (three sets of four designs) to the front of the file folder pieces. Step 19 Step 19 Step 20 Use the 3/16 Corner Rounder punch to punch the four corners of the file folder. Repeat 11 more times. Step 21 From the print out in Step 16, stamp the dotted circle image from Think Happy Thoughts stamp set using a Rose Red Classic Stampin Pad over each month. Use the Stamp-a-ma-jig and 1-3/8 gray circles in the print out to help consistently stamp around each month. Step 21

Step 22 Use the 1-1/4 Circle punch to punch out each month (Step 22a). Use the 1-3/8 Circle punch to punch out 12 circle pieces from scraps of Chocolate Chip card stock. Adhere using SNAIL adhesive (Step 22b). Step 22a Step 22a Step 22b Step 23 Use SNAIL adhesive to adhere the month labels inside the file folders (Step 23a). The final measurement for each calendar should be 5-3/8 x 4-1/4. Note: Printers vary and you may need to adjust your cutting accordingly. Diagram D 11 4-1/4 8-1/2 5-1/2 5-1/2 4-1/4 1/8 1/8 Step 24 Step 25 Use the 3/16 Corner Rounder punch to punch the four corners of the calendar cards. Repeat 11 more times.
