ZERO ZELIENOPLE ROTARY WEEKLY BULLETIN 1 Zero Zelienople Rotary Weekly Bulletin MAY 12, 2017 CLUB CHARTERED 1924 NO. 5169 DISTRICT 7280 We started the meeting with a prayer by Archie Simplson, and the Pledge of Allegiance. Exchange Student Lea Birnbacher Shares Her Year! Lea shared some of the highlights of her year from traveling to Niagara Falls with other regional exchange students to her trip to Florida with Seneca Valley Chorus. She showed many great pictures of school events such as football playoff games, Raiderthon, Homecoming and Prom. Her host parents Reid and Krista Moon most recently took her on a helicopter ride over Pittsburgh!! Lea has enjoyed her time here as a student and has made many lifelong friendships she will treasure! the electric keyboard she picked up at our annual yard sale! Her host father, Reid accompanied Lea to our meeting and commented on what an intelligent person Lea is and how he marvels for her bright future! He shared that he has lost both of his natural parents this year, and how she has always managed to brighten the dinner table with her presence, which was truly a blessing to him! Neal (right) Proud father as his daughter, Megan graduates sum cum laude at Slippery Rock Carrol.. Grandson with autism was lost, but happily found on Sunday Dan Fazio.. Finished 61/2 mile relay run at Pittsburgh marathon Also a prayer buck for Kathy Corchran, who suffers from severe migraines from a head injury Craig (right)..6k fundraiser walk for an International Organization Charlie.. Craig for his involvement with the Scholarship Night Beth,, Visited 4 clubs this week 2 of them to promote Youth Exchange in our district with Jeff Simmons and Exchange students, Lea and Aneli Dan Fazio (right) Glo Run on Saturday, May 19 th at H-Z United Methodist Church Marie.. Circle of Friends Choir concert this Sunday at H-Z United Methodist Church President Ron. Penguins defeated the Capitals!

ZERO ZELIENOPLE ROTARY WEEKLY BULLETIN 3 General Business and Announcements District Conference May 19-20 at Punxsutawney Consider one of the many scheduled events. There are multiple activities for all ages. Steve Schultz shared a flier: Zelienople Revitalization, Inc. is hosting a golf outing at Harmann s on July 9. See below for more details. Beth is looking for a host family (August December) for an exchange student. Let your friends and acquaintances know of the need. Archie (below) reports on our Foundation: as of May, 12 our Goal is $4,500. We received $5,413=120.3% We have 43 members. 35 members have given for 81.4%. 28 members have reached their goal for 65.1%. We need the remaining 8 members to start to donate. Our District Simplified Grant: We will have a park bench placed behind the Kaufmann House and the remainder of the Grant will purchase a Shelter Box from our club. Craig Lutz is also donating a bench to the location President Ron praised the club for earning the Gold award for accomplishing the Districts challenges!!

ZERO ZELIENOPLE ROTARY WEEKLY BULLETIN 4 Rotary Exchange Student Lea Birnbacher held a fundraising dinner for ShelterBox. Results of that will be shared probably next week but here are some photos Don R. took of the event. Top: Tom and Marie with Lea and Rev. Moon enjoying a gorgeous day in front of a set-up Shelterbox. Middle: a display of literature highlights a veritable feast. Below: Lea smiles as she sets out the ethnic meal among festive decorations.
