The club will be hosting AERO TOW. Dates are Saturday and Sunday June 22nd-23rd. 9:00am-6:00pm both days. Contact Stephane Ruelle for more information. Note: The field will be closed to open flying during these times. We may fly prior to and after each daily session, and during their lunch break. Next Fun Fly Saturday September 14th. Back up date Sunday September 15th.

2 MRCA meeting minutes Monday June 3rd MRCA June 3, 2013 Meeting Minutes Meeting was called to order: Treasurer s report: If you wish to know the actual figures, please contact Barb. This keeps our financial matters off the Internet. Bills field maintenance, pump out, and fun fly were submitted to Barb, and were paid. It was moved and seconded to accept the Treasurer s report. OLD Business: Mark contacted the company responsible for pumping out the porta-potty (Parkway) and discussed our concerns about the PP not being pumped out as claimed. Parkway defended its actions. Seems the PP was actually pumped out on June 3. The Milan Fair demo and show was a no go. They may be interested in doing something in the fall. It was brought up that we should do our own Get to know the Club function at the field ourselves. Fun Fly, Sunday June 2. CNX Weather. Fun fly was rescheduled for Saturday June 8th and was held on that day. o It was a great day for flying, getting together to talk, food and competition. o Competition: Trials: Timed and landing accuracy. Speed estimation, radar timed both fast and slow. Timed loop and roll. Sorry, I returned the judging sheet to Len, so I don t have the individual event winners, BUT OVERALL WINNERS 1ST Matt Schultz 2ND Brandon Schultz 3rd Walt Hancock Stephane s Aero Tow will be held at the field on Saturday and Sunday, June

3 Powered flying is not permitted during the Aero Tow, but you can fly before, after and during their lunch. Come out and support Stephane s efforts. NEW Business: New member: o Mike Kucins. Reformed helicopter pilot (Nitro), will be flying fixed wing. o Voted in. o Please introduce yourself to Mike and help where you can. Tom Sawyer is back in town and has rejoined the club. Dues and timing of dues payment were discussed. o This subject to be discussed by the board in the fall and proposed by-law rules changes will be published. o For now, dues remain the same and late fees are in effect. o If you need to you can mail your dues to Barb. o Mark just sent an and a copy of our by-laws to the membership. Next meeting, Monday July 1st, at the field. Bring your flying gear!!!! The meeting was adjourned. MRCA to Host Aero Tow 2013 Stephan has requested that the club host Aero Tow in June. Dates are Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23. Time 9:00 Am through 6:00PM Field will be closed to flying during these times. We may fly prior to and after each daily session, and during their lunch break. This is an opportunity for the club to make some much needed funds, but more importantly, will help our club through recognition and good will. Come out and support the club, and enjoy the soaring. This should be fun for all involved. Motion was made and seconded to host the Aero Tow. Motion passed unanimously at the June meeting. I have taken the greatest effort to make the meeting minutes as accurate as I can. Errors and omissions are unintended and will be corrected if you notify me. Space/Aviation History images of the month By Robert Throne Snark Cruise Missile at Cape Canaveral The Northrop Snark was the first intercontinental missile developed by the US Air Force in the early 1950s. Propelled by powerful jet engines and launched by solid rocket motors. Snark was 67 feet in length with a wingspan of 42 feet and a fuselage diameter of 5 feet. Snark had and erratic test record. Those that failed went into the ocean just off the beach from the cape. The waters then gained the reputation of being Snark Infested
