President Stewart Skinner was unavailable for tonight's meeting. 1st VP Cindy Powell opened our meeting at 6:00 PM. 39 Lions and 15 guests were present. Lion Dick Tuttle led us in singing America, and VP Cindy led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. OUR GUESTS: PCC Ron Barber and wife PDG Georgia. Bliss guest of Lion Dave Weber. Randy was here but Dave was home recuperating from the crud that is going around. Lion George Davis had 7 guests--wife, Ann, Laurie and Justin (his kids), Shawn Martin (son-in-law), and grandsons Alex and Jack. Don Mundy came back for a visit! Several members of the Sharp family. I spotted Lisa Dun, Craig Sharp. Sorry if we missed anyone! Ryan Gumm guest of Lion Dee Hathaway. Debbie and Rick Kellough guests of Lion Joy Cox.
NEW MEMBER INDUCTIONS: Next week Ryan Gumm, Claudia Weiderman, Rand Bliss, and Debbie and Rick Kellough will become our newest Lions. That will put our roster at 90 members! 10 more for 100- -keep pushing in your search for new members! OUR MEAL: Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, tossed salad, succotash, dinner roll, and pineapple upside down cake for dessert. Lion Neal arrived at the club at 9:30 to find Lions George Davis, and Sam Creech busy in the kitchen making pineapple upside down cake or should we say upside down cake. It seems that Lion George forgot to add the pineapple! After two trips to two different markets, more cake mix was found and Ann Davis arrived to sort out the cakes. The rest of the dinner was, for lack of a better term, a piece of cake! Speaking of cake...anyone who knows George knows that dessert is in each of his food groups. Lion Mike caught him enjoying a pre meal snack! OUR COOKS: Lions George Davis, Gene Oliver, Arlan Cox, Sam Creech, Neal Senff, Jerry Powers, Melinda Stephens, Mike and Dee Hathaway, and Gene Oliver--An extra special thanks to Ann Davis for the cakes!

The growth on her thyroid was benign! Lion Gene Donahue will have a heart catheterization done on Thursday. Lion Richard Cox's daughter is recovering from surgery. Lion Roger Geise visited with Lion Tom Gustin and said that Tom would appreciate some visitors. Lion Joy Cox and Dave Weber are both down with the Greater Ross County Crud. Lion Dawn Sorensen thanked members for the card, prayers, and concerns following the passing of her father last week. Lion John Malone had a small stroke last week, however, he joined us this evening. Lions Gary Warner, Dave White, Tom Gustin, and all of those mentioned above need our prayers. PARKING LOT: After our meeting 4 cars had to be pushed out of the mud in our new lot. We have come up with a plan to prevent this. The
back door of the club will be open. Early arrivals (cooks etc.) should park behind the flag barn and club. This should open up spaces in the main lot and the area in front of the flag barn. Please be cognizant of weather conditions and if it has been raining stay out of the over flow lot! PRAYER: Lion Don Mundy. SURPRISE: Tonight we honored Lion George Davis. Lion Don Mundy presented Lion George with the President's Lifetime Achievement Award for Public Service. To qualify for the award a person has to have 4200 hours of voluntary service to the public. Lions Neal Senff, Arlan Cox, Sam Creech, and Mike Hathaway, along with George's wife Ann had spent the last few months quizzing Lion George about what he had done at church, the Cavalier Club, Goodwill, United Way, Chillicothe City Schools, Chillicothe Park System, and Lions. We quit after tallying 8300 hours and we are sure that we probably could have doubled that had we kept counting. Lion Don gave a very fine presentation speech and Lion Neal Senff read a congratulatory letter signed by President Barack Obama. Lion George received a standing ovation from all present!

MILESTONE: Last week Joanne Tuttle was inducted as a new member, sponsored by husband Dick. Turns out Joanne was the 36 th person Lion Dick has sponsored, one for every year he has been a Lion!
