Tip Yu can manually mve the current map sectin within the screen if needed, in rder t, fr example, shw the POIs in the area f the calculated rute in the map view. T d s, tap a suitable psitin in the map sectin, hld the psitin and mve it arund the screen as desired: The map sectin is adjusted accrdingly. In additin t the visual navigatin, all maneuvres are annunced by vice cmmands at the same time, prvided yu have activated the feature in the menu Settings > Vice annuncements. Yu can adjust the vice utput during navigatin as fllws: Tap the buttn in the upper left area f the screen: The setting menu Vlume then pens, which allws yu t individually set the vlume fr vice utput, the key click and audi playback f MP3 files using the additinal MP3 Player applicatin. The buttns and allw yu t individually lwer r raise the vlume fr the respective signal utput in seven steps. Output fr the respective signal is muted at the lwest level. Nte The vlume setting is saved and the stred value will be used the next time yu start-up yur navigatin system. 25

Other views Yu can call up alternative views t the map display in the Quick menu. The Quick menu settings are described in the Adjusting the Quick menu settings sectin. Cmpass display In cmpass display, yur current psitin is shwn in relatin t the fur cardinal pints, Nrth being labelled in clur fr better rientatin. In additin, yur current psitin is stated with lngitude and latitude in degrees, arc minutes and arc secnds. The cmpass rientatin as well as the lngitude and latitude display is cntinuusly updated t enable precise rientatin. As a rule, hwever, the accuracy f the measurement and the display depend n the quality f the GPS receptin signal: Fr this reasn, the GPS receptin quality is als indicated as a value in the HDOP field. In additin, the number f satellites currently receiving the signal is displayed next t the symbl. The infrmatin bar in the lwer prtin f the windw shws all f the ther infrmatin abut the current rute (such as speed, distance, calculated travel time etc.). Tip Yur navigatin system uses the signals frm several satellites t determine the psitin. There may be verlap between the sectin areas f these satellite signals which reduces measuring accuracy. The HDOP value indicated in the cmpass describes the measuring accuracy within the hrizntal 2D map: Fr values in the range t 6, a high t satisfactry measuring accuracy is guaranteed, fr values ver 6 deviatin is increasingly cmmn. Nte Any speed limits entered fr the current rute sectin are displayed in the left crner using the symbl. A spken warning nly ccurs if the Warning signs ptin in the Settings > Cnfigure special functins menu and the Traffic advice in the Settings > Vice annuncements menu have been activated and the speed has been exceeded by this value. 26

Arrw view In the arrw view, yu are guided by a guidance system based n arrws, independent f a map. The arrw view prvides the fllwing infrmatin: The current directin f travel is described using the arrw. When there is an upcming manœuvre, the rientatin f the arrw indicates in what directin yu will be led during the maneuvre. Depending n the manœuvre, side streets may als be displayed, but the main rute is always clearly marked. The distance t the next manœuvre is shwn using the segment chain beside the arrw: The clser the manœuvre cmes, the mre segments in the chain are filled. This allws yu t readily estimate the actual distance frm the manœuvre based n yur speed. The street n which yu are currently lcated is shwn n the upper edge f the screen, as is the rute that yu must travel n this street t the next maneuvre. A-rads and mtrways are distinguished by clur and their number. If maneuvre is imminent, the display is switched: Nw the distance t the manœuvre is shwn as well as the street/directin in which yu will be guided after the maneuvre. The infrmatin bar in the lwer prtin f the windw shws all f the ther infrmatin abut the current rute (such as speed, distance, calculated travel time etc.). Trip inf In the Trip inf view, the fllwing infrmatin is displayed abut the current navigatin: Maximum speed Average speed Rute travelled Travel time This infrmatin refers t all f the rutes travelled since the last time the Trip inf was reset (see belw). T measure infrmatin abut a specific rute, yu must reset the trip inf at the start f navigatin. T d this, activate the buttn: All values are reset t 0 and the measurement is restarted. Nte 27

The values in the Trip infs are autmatically reset t 0 if yur navigatin device has received n valid GPS data packet in tw hurs. Chapter 4: Adjusting the Settings After starting yur navigatin device, the screen gives yu the available functin areas f yur navigatin system t chse frm. This buttn starts the the map view. Ecnmic The rute calculatin represents a cmbinatin f the quickest and shrtest rute: This is the ecnmic rute. The fllwing ptins are then nly available if the crrespnding map data has been installed n yur navigatin device. Fr further infrmatin, see Manual actins fr data exchange. By pass Traffic-flw ptimised Using the Traffic-flw ptimised ptin lets yu identify the fastest pssible rute. Hwever, in ding s the navigatin device accesses specific infrmatin n traffic density which is indicated in the map material: junctins fr which there is the risk f a traffic jam at the time f the rute calculatin, are avided. Instead, an alternative rute t the junctins is calculated, with ptimised traffic flw. Nne The traffic jam avidance functin is nt active: Current traffic infrmatin (TMC) nt taken int accunt during navigatin. Manual When the manual traffic jam avidance functin is active, a warning symbl n the map view indicates the next traffic disruptin n yur rute that will affect yur travel time. Autmatic When the autmatic traffic jam avidance functin is active, the navigatin sftware autmatically uses available traffic infrmatin t calculate deturs arund traffic disruptins in yur way that wuld affect yur travel time. Tip Ferries The traffic jam avidance ptin selected is als used fr the TMC settings in the Prgram settings menu and can als be changed there (see Adjusting the Prgram settings). 30

Use The use f ferries is taken int accunt fr the purpses f rute calculatin. Mtrways Avid The use f ferries is excluded frm rute calculatin.
