Chapter 1 : About Your Privacy on this Site This outdoor game is a lot of fun. Every player gets a number and crowds around the person who is "it" for that round. "It" then tosses the ball straight up and the other players run away. Most of these games are easy and inexpensive to make and they all would make great party games for any occasion. Get the kids off their phones and playing a real life version of Words With Friends! All you need is some cardboard and markers to make a Scrabble board that spans the whole yard! This DIY doubles as decor. Forget that flimsy plastic sheet, grab a circle template and make your own game right on the lawn! You could even paint two or three boards and have teams compete against each other to get everyone involved. Make a Tree Swing: Nothing brings back more summer memories than a wooden swing hanging under a tree. Update classic yard games like horseshoes or croquet with color blocks of pastel spray paint for some chic fun in the sun! The goal is to get out the sticks without any balls falling out. Children and adults will have a blast challenging each other with this. The tutorial includes printables, making it your easiest project of the entire season. The colors are all customizable, it costs next to nothing to make and is endless amusement for the whole family. How adorable are these monster cutouts? We especially love the little teeth that make this game oh-so difficult! Colorful Ping Pong Table: Easy and essentially free, you could have a domino game that stretches all over the patio. This project is pretty inexpensive and could make a really cute gift to a family or friend who loves outdoor games. Bring it to your next barbecue or picnic. Water balloons are great, but they are a pain to make and no one likes picking up those little pieces of rubber after the big fight. Perfect for the budding athlete or just for a fun challenge to see who can get the most points. Check out this little obstacle course! These adorable gnomes are made out soda bottles! Obstacle course challenges are pure fun and energy, and they can be set up easily on your lawn or at a local park using items found around the house. Ice Block Treasure Hunt: If you play your cards right, this activity could keep the kids occupied for hours. Homemade noodle rings can be used for a ton of fun games like human ring toss, an obstacle course, a soccer goal or javelin. A water blob is a large piece of plastic sheeting that is taped shut and then filled with water. You could also add confetti or small gummy items like worms or fish for a theme party or turn on the sprinkler for a DIY slip-and-slide. All you need is a wading pool, a hula hoop and some homemade bubble solution to garner some major oohs and ahhs. Head to the thrift store and buy anything that makes a cool sound, then bring it back and make a wall of noise-makers for your budding maestro. Wood Burned Tic Tac Toe: Perfect for little hands, this rustic game set could sit outside all summer on your porch and maybe even double as coasters. Attach cups of popcorn to your shoes and hustle across the lawn trying not to spill! The person with the most popcorn at the end of the race wins! If the Big Day is coming up, check out this Hunger Games-inspired wedding where the guests played archery during the reception. An old-fashioned favorite, pickup sticks get way more challenging when the sticks are three-feet long! How fun is this all-natural mini golf course with those mossy logs and stones? The goofiness of this lawn game will ensure for great pictures at your wedding or otherwise. Picnic Blanket Game Board: Here is a really easy idea for a picnic blanket game board that has a built-in chess and checker board. Now you can play one of our favorite games outdoors, without worrying about the pieces blowing away or getting the board set up on an uneven surface. Water Balloon Spoon Races: Wrap these Dollar Tree wooden spoons in washi tape for a lovely touch. Similar to cornhole, this pipe ball game is a bit more challenging! Heading on a road trip this summer? Outdoor Tic Tac Toe: Make an outdoor tic-tac-toe game with a cutting board, rocks and decoupage! Catch and Toss DIY: Get some string, hang some donuts from a low branch and have the kids try and eat the donuts off the string without using their hands. Little dominoes made out of cement in an ice cube tray! And such a lovely color palette, we might add. This is an easy-to-learn game that is perfect to have on hand during barbecues and pool parties. How cute is this idea for a big outdoor Scrabble game? What a perfect way to get some Vitamin D while working on that triple letter score. Knock The Can Game: A classical carnival game that is a cinch to put together and makes a bright and colorful statement. Similar to lawn darts but without that element of death, these sand-filled bags are thrown into rings kind of like horseshoes, but safer for tiny players. We love the idea Page 1

of a game board that you can fold up and tuck into your picnic basket for any summer adventure! Let us know in the comments below! She loves creating art, traveling, and all things chocolate. A native to the Great Northwest, she is currently living in London and pretending to be a mature grad student. Page 2

Chapter 2 : 50 Simple Outdoor Activities For Kids - No Time For Flash Cards Looking for some fun outdoor games to play at your next barbecue or family party? Good ol' fashioned group games â from sack races to cornhole and other toss games â are all the rage these days! Preschool 20 fun indoor games Here are 20 indoor games that will keep kids and you happy and activeâ no TV or video games required. Gather some pencils and paper and check out our best of pencil-and-paper games. If you want to get competitive, whoever builds the highest tower wins. Simply place a coin under one of three cups and shuffle the cups around. Then ask your children to guess which cup holds the coin. Sneaky parents can place the cups near the edge of a table and secretly drop the coin. Card games Card games are great for challenging young minds and creating hours of indoor fun. Grab a box of cards and check out our favourite traditional card games. Puzzles Exercise those creative, cognitive and problem-solving muscles with a good puzzle. You can use a store-bought variety or have the kids make their own. Have your children draw a picture on a sturdy piece of cardboard or Bristol board. Then use a pencil to outline puzzle pieces directly on their drawing. Cut out the pieces with a good pair of scissors, mix them up and get solving. Ask them to dance until the music stops. When it does, they have to freeze in whatever position they find themselves in â even if they have one leg up. To make the game more challenging, ask the kids to freeze in specific poses: Toddlers in particular love this game. The winner gets her very own gold medal! Make your own ribbons with this easy craft: Board and family games For a comprehensive list of the best of family games from Nursery Rhyme Games and Candy Land to Clue, check out our handy list of top 20 family games. Paper-bag skits This indoor game is ideal for larger groups â a sleepover favourite. Divide the kids up into groups. Give each group a bag filled with props, such as a spoon, toy jewelry, a sock, ball or ribbon. Then give them 15 minutes to construct a skit around the props. If the kids want, though, they can all vote on a winning skit. Indoor hopscotch This schoolyard favourite is sure to be an indoor hit, too. Set up your hopscotch game on any floor surface. Masking tape will do perfectly to form the nine connecting squares. Boxes will be placed in a single line, one on top of the other. Next, choose a marker, such as a coin, stone or beanbag. The first player will throw the marker into square 1 without letting it bounce or touch the lines. If successful, the player will then hop â one foot on single squares and two feet on side-by-side squares â avoiding square 1. When the player is unsuccessful, the next player takes a turn. Players resume their turns by throwing the marker on the last box played. The winner is the first player to throw the marker home 9, and smoothly complete the whole course. DIY balance beam While you have your masking tape out, why not make your own balance beam? We all know how much kids love walking in straight lines every chance they get. Put on some music, and one at a time the kids can take their turn walking one-foot-over-the-other across the straight line of tape. Make the game more challenging by having the kids walk backwards or balance with one foot on the line. Hide and Seek No list of indoor games would be complete without Hide and Seek, now would it? Families with older children might want to take things up a notch and play Hide and Seek in the dark. Just to be safe, make sure there are no loose items on the floor. Simply write your clues on some slips of paper â get creative. Then leave as many clues as you like around the house, making a trail to the final clue. Instead of a prize, the treasure hunt can lead to various coins around the house. This way the kids get to collect all the coins and put them in their piggy banks in the end. If you want to create the most amazing treasure hunt, follow these 11 tips. Indoor bowling A great way to reuse water bottles or you can purchase an indoor bowling set. Line six water bottles up at the end of your hall or living room. Place a line of duct tape at the starting line. Grab a medium-sized indoor ball and start bowling! If you want, keep score and give out trophies at the end. Hot Potato This game will have everyone giggling. Ask the kids to sit on the floor in a circle. Turn on some tunes and have them pass the potato a bean bag or soft ball around the circle as fast as they can. When the music stops, the player holding the potato leaves the circle. Keep going until only one player is left and wins the game. Take out several miscellaneous items. Have the children look at all the items, and then take them away. Next, ask one child to hide his or her eyes and listen as you pick up an item and make sounds with it. Ask the child to guess which item made the sound. Examples of items might be a comb run your fingers along it, a Page 3

glass gently tap it, cymbals, shakers, sandpaper, blocks rubbed together, a pot and spoon. Be creative and have fun! For this game, you need a plate and straw for each player, some dishwashing soap and water. Place a dime-size drop of dish soap at the centre of each plate. Pour a little water onto the plate and gently mix with the dish soap until some suds start to form. Have the kids place the straw in the suds and blow very gently. Watch as massive bubbles start to form. To make this competitive, see who blows the biggest, or longest-lasting, bubble. Simon Says This traditional favourite will never get old. To start, choose one player probably a parent for the first round to be Simon. The last player left in the game wins and becomes the next Simon. Touch-and-feel box Most preschoolers flock to the classroom sensory table as soon as the teachers pull it out. So there is little doubt they will love this entertaining challenge. Find a shoe box or any box that has a lid on it. Cut a hole in one of the sides of the box â large enough for your child to fit her hand in. If you want, get creative and decorate the box with glitter and question marks. They can ask questions about the item if they need to, or you can offer clues. Get as ooey-gooey as you wish fresh pumpkin seeds or slimy spaghetti are great choices for Halloween, or use such simple objects as a brush, a toy, a piece of fruit. To make it competitive, you can give a point to the first child to name the object. All you need is a bucket and a rolled up sock or a small, light ball. Each player takes a turn at throwing the sock-ball into the bucket. When a player scores a bucket, he or she takes a step back and throws again until missing. The player who shoots the ball in the bucket from the farthest distance wins. Page 4

Chapter 3 : Best 25+ Outdoor Games ideas on Pinterest Yard games, Backyard games and Outdoor yard Whether your party is in your backyard, a local park, or the beach, these timeless and fun outdoor party games will be a hit with kids. Everyone will have a great time running around as they compete, get silly, and just have a ball. Tweet Pin Kids are spending more time than ever on mobile devices. Children 8 years and younger are reportedly spending an average of two hours and 19 minutes per day glued to their screens with roughly 30 percent of that time spent on mobile devices tablets and smartphones. To boot, 42 percent of kids have their own tablet. That said, now more than ever, we need to get our kids outdoors and moving around. So Your Kid Wants a Cellphone: How Young Is Too Young? Take turns running across your lawn, then sliding across the tarp for a slippery, exciting game. Flashlight tag Best played after the sun goes down, flashlight tag is the perfect outdoor game for late-night birthday or block parties. One player is designated "it" and is given a flashlight. The other players hide. When the person who is "it" finds a hidden player, they shine the light on the hider and the hider then becomes it. The original "it" then hides, and the game continues. Jump rope challenge Give each player a plastic cup filled with water. Start spinning a large jump rope. One at a time, each child must attempt to enter the rope and jump three times, all while spilling as little water as possible. The child with the most water left in his or her cup wins the game. Hole in the bucket Fill up a large trash can with water and place two empty trash cans about 40 feet away. Split kids into two teams and give each team an empty milk carton with 10 to 12 holes in the bottom. They empty the remaining water into the trash can, then run back, passing the carton to the next player. The first team to fill its trash can with water wins the game. Line them up facing one another. To start the game, yell out, "Sticks! Any tagged players must switch teams, and the two new teams line up to play again. The team to bring all the players to its side wins the game. Shoebox relays Split the kids into two teams. Each team gets two shoeboxes. Tape the lids onto the shoe boxes and cut an "I" shape into the top of the box, with a 4-inch slit and two 1-inch slits. Have the first player from each team slip her feet into the shoeboxes. When you say, "Go! Players pass the shoeboxes to their waiting teammates, and the relay continues until all the players have participated and a winning team is crowned. One at a time, blindfold the kids and let them work their way through the obstacle course. The child to make it through the fastest wins the game. Give one child a football and have him stand about 20 feet in front of the remaining children. The child with the ball throws it up into the air toward the waiting players while calling out a number between 50 and The player to catch the ball earns the number of points called, but if they drop the ball, they lose those points. The first player to accumulate points becomes the next thrower.
