3 Overview PowerTrivia is a free add-on that allows users to harness their PowerSurveyPlus, PowerSMS, and PowerWebForm subscriptions to create and track SMS trivia games within CRM. PowerTrivia allows users to capture lead information, learn more about Contact and Leads via their survey answers, and provide commands and responses to provide interaction with players. System Requirements Users must meet the following requirements in order for PowerTrivia to function. Subscribed to: PowerSurveyPlus PowerSMS with Twilio as service provider PowerWebForm PowerBitly, free tool Security Roles PowerTrivia has no security roles, users will need to have the sufficient PowerSurveyPlus, PowerSMS, and PowerWebForm privileges to use; see the respective user guides for information on security roles. How PowerTrivia Works As stated above, PowerTrivia utilizes several other PowerPack Add-Ons in the game process. Before using the solution, it s important to understand how each component is used. PowerWebForm is used to collect player information if no Contact or Lead record is found with a matching mobile number. This check is performed when a player texts in the Start Key to begin a game, then if no match they receive a response with a link to the web form. PowerSurveyPlus is used to create the trivia questions. During the game, PowerTrivia will randomize the surveys and send to players at the chosen interval until all have been answered or the game period ends (whichever occurs first). PowerSMS is used to send and receive text messages during the game. The players can send inbound messages to join a game, receive their score, or receive the top 10 game scores. The outbound messages are used to send the web form link if needed, send links to surveys, send scores, or notify players that the game has started, ended, or they re trying to play outside of game schedule. PowerBitly is an integral part of the game and is used to shorten the web form and survey links in the text messages.

4 Importing a PowerPack Add-On The first step in getting started with any managed solution in Microsoft Dynamics CRM would be to import the solution in the Solutions section of CRM. To navigate to this section, you would simply go to Settings > Solutions > and Select the Import button from the ribbon. This will prompt a dialog box that will walk you through the import process, which is shown below. 1. Select the PowerPack solution file that you have previously downloaded to your desktop 2. The next screen will verify the details of the solution you are about to import, select Next to move on

5 3. Next you will have to make sure that the Enable any SDK message processing steps included in the solution option is selected. Once this box is checked, select Import in the lower right corner IMPORTANT: If you do not select this checkbox the solution will not function properly. 4. Once you have selected the import button a new dialog box will appear showing you a progress bar for the import. This step usually takes between 5 10 minutes 5. Once the import has completed, you will get a screen with the overview of the import and components. Simply select close.

6 Creating a Game This section will go through the steps necessary to create a Game with PowerTrivia. First, navigate to the Game section of the PowerTrivia area and select New. Proceed to fill out the details of the Game Form and when completed press Save. General This section contains the basic set-up information for the game. Name Provide a unique name for the game, if the name is not unique it will prevent game play on future Games with the same Name. Start Key The Start Key is the command players will send via SMS to join the game. Players can only participate in one game at a time. When running multiple games simultaneously, users will need to define a unique Start Key for each. If a player registers for a different game, their previous game and score are erased before they re placed in the new game. Score Key The Score Key is the command players will send via SMS to obtain their total points. Top Key The Top Key is the command players will send via SMS to obtain the top 10 scores and their rank if within the top 10. Question Delay This is the interval in which the trivia questions will be sent via SMS after the previous question is answered correctly. Catch up Delay This is the interval in which the trivia questions will be sent via SMS after the previous question is answered incorrectly.

7 Webform ID This is the web form users will receive to register if the mobile number does not match an existing Contact or Lead record s mobile number. For full instructions on how to create a web form, please see the PowerWebForm user guide. IMPORTANT: The web form must contain a hidden field with the exact Game Name in the Default Value and mapped to the Game Playing field on the Contact or Lead record. Form Field ID This is the hidden field on the web form that is mapped to Mobile Phone. Tip: To save time, you can select the +New button on the web form look-up and create the web form in a pop-up window. Game Messages Game messages are automated responses users will receive while playing the game. Once you have setup a game, the solution will add default messages. Users can create their own messages or change the text displayed in the default messages. IMPORTANT: Do not delete the default messages from your CRM system. Game Schedule The game schedule allows users to choose specific start and end times, if no schedule is defined the game will run indefinitely allowing each player to answer all survey questions. Users can set multiple schedules to allow game play during specific hours over several days. Players can answer their current question outside of the

8 scheduled time, but will not receive a new question until the next schedule period begins. Any questions answered after the game ends is ignored. Trivia Questions (Surveys) PowerTrivia uses PowerSurveyPlus surveys for the trivia questions. User will need to create a separate survey for each trivia question they wish to include in the game. Naming a Survey The surveys must begin with the exact Game Name in order for PowerTrivia to include them in the game play. Scoring a Survey Question/Game Each survey question must be scored in order to tally a score during the game. If you do not assign a score to the survey question, it will still be used in game play. Viewing Game Scores To view the player scores, navigate to the Contacts or Lead area of CRM, and select the PowerTrivia Scoreboard view.

9 Uninstalling a PowerPack Add-On To uninstall the solution, you will select the solution from the Solutions list and delete. Deleting the solution will remove all records and activities associated with PowerTrivia. If you would like to keep this information in your system, you can simply leave the solution in your system.
