1 Birthday Calendar Desk Set Designed By: Glenda Calkins December 2011 This gorgeous Birthday Calendar Desk Set can be used for many years to come. When you open it up you will find a perpetual calendar where you can write in important dates to remember, including Birthdays. Also inside are six birthday cards (three feminine and three masculine) with envelopes.

2 Box Instructions Step 1 Cut a sheet of Basic Black card stock to 7-½ x 10 and with the 10 side across the top of your Simply Scored Scoring Tool score at 6 and at 7-½. With the 7-½ side across the top of your Simply Scored Scoring Tool; score at 1-½ and at 6 (Diagram 1). Diagram 1 Step 2 Cut on the solid White lines shown in diagram 1 to the score line. Fold on all score lines using your Bone Folder. Step 3 Attach the 2-¼ x 4-¼ piece of Mocha Morning Specialty Designers Series Paper (DSP) and the Sticky Strip to your box as shown in (Diagram 3). Fold the little tabs in on the sides and then secure the sides closed as shown in (Diagram 3b). Diagram 3a Diagram 3b

3 Step 3 Box Front Instructions Step 4 Cut a sheet of Basic Black card stock to 7-½ x 9-¾. Place the 9-¾ side across the top of your Simply Scored Scoring Tool and score at 1, 2-5/8, 7-1/8, and 8-¾. Turn and with the 7-½ side across the top of your Simply Scored Scoring Tool score at 1-½. Cut away the two boxes that have the X thru them in (Diagram 4a). Once you have cut away the squares it will look like (Diagram 4b). Diagram 4a Diagram 4b

4 Step 5 Fold on all the score lines. Apply Sticky Strip to the bottom piece. Take a Clear Translucent Medium Envelope and cut off the flap. Apply Sticky Strip to the center section and attach the envelope with the opening towards you; (so that when you fold it up the opening is at the top). Step 5 Step 6 On the front side apply the two 1-3/8 x 4-½ to the side panels and the one 4-¼ x 4-½ pieces of Mocha Morning Specialty DSP to the center section. Step 6

5 Step 7 Remove your Sticky Strip from the flap and attach this fold up front to the box. Step 7 Step 8 Print the calendar pages onto Very Vanilla card stock. Cut the calendar pages to 4-¼ x 5-½. You will store six months of the calendars in the Clear Translucent envelope and the other six months will be stored in the back of the box with the cards and envelopes. Step 8

6 Cover Instructions Step 9 Cut a 4 x 7-¼ piece of Basic Black card stock. Using your Simply Scored Scoring Tool, score all sides at 1-¼. Cut on the solid white lines to the score line as shown in (Diagram 9). Diagram 9 Step 10 Apply Sticky Strip to the tabs and attach the 1-¼ x 4-½ piece of Mocha Morning Specialty DSP to the center of the cover. Attach the two 1 x 4-½ pieces of Mocha Morning Specialty DSP, one on each side and the 1 x 1-¼ piece of Mocha Morning Specialty DSP to the ends in the center. Step 11 Fold tabs in to create box top. Step 10

7 Step 11 Step 12 Print out the title Dates to Remember on Crumb Cake card stock. Punch out the title Dates to Remember using the Decorative Label punch. On a piece of Basic Black card stock; punch out two more Decorative Label pieces. Take Paper Snips and cut one of the label pieces in half horizontally and the other one vertically, cutting off the little corners as well. Apply SNAIL adhesive to the backside of the Crumb Cake label piece and attach the two vertical Basic Black pieces. Attach the other two pieces to the ends. Step 12 Step 13 Attach the Basic Pearl Jewels to the front of your Decorative Label punched piece and attach to the front of your box using Stampin Dimensionals.

8 Step 13 Card #1 Instructions Card #1 Card #1 pieces Step 1 Cut a sheet of Basic Black card stock to 4-¼ x 11 and fold in half to create your card. Cut a 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 piece of Very Vanilla card stock and attach to the front. Cut a 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 piece of Mocha Morning DSP and attach to the Very Vanilla card stock. Step 2 Cut a 2-½ x 2-7/8 piece of Mocha Morning DSP. Cut a 1-3/8 x 2-7/8 piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Cut a 3 x 4 piece of Basic Black card stock and attach the Mocha Morning DSP to the bottom half and the Crumb Cake piece to the top half. Attach this piece to the front of your card. Step 3 Cut a ½ x 3-5/8 piece of Basic Black card stock and attach this to your card front centering it over the top of where the Mocha Morning DSP and the Crumb Cake card stock meet.

9 Step 4 Stamp the Birthday Wishes sentiment from the Bring on the Cake stamp set onto Very Vanilla card stock using Basic Black ink and punch out using the Decorative Label punch. Attach this to your card front using Stampin Dimensionals. Step 5 Attach Basic Pearl Jewels to your card front. Card #2 Instructions Card #2 Card #2 pieces Step 1 Cut a sheet of Crumb Cake card stock to 4-¼ x 11 and fold in half to create your card. Step 2 Cut a 3-3/8 x 4-5/8 piece of Mocha Morning DSP and attach this to a 3-½ x 4-¾ piece of Basic Black card stock. Cut a 15 piece of Crumb Cake 3/8 taffeta ribbon and tie it around with your knot in the front on the left hand side. Attach piece to the front of your card using SNAIL adhesive. Step 3 Stamp the Birthday Wishes from the Bring on the Cake stamp set onto Crumb Cake card stock using Basic Black ink and punch out using your Decorative Label punch. Punch out two Decorative Label pieces from a piece of Basic Black card stock. Cut each Basic Black label piece as shown in Card #1 instructions and attach to your Crumb Cake piece. Attach to your card front using Stampin Dimensionals. Step 4

10 Attach Basic Pearl Jewels to the card front and Birthday Wishes piece. Card #3 Instructions Card #3 Card #3 Pieces Step 1 Cut a sheet of Very Vanilla card stock 4-¼ x 11 and fold in half to create your card. Step 2 Cut a piece of Basic Black card stock 4 x 5-½ and using your Scallop Edge Border punch; punch one end. Step 3 Cut three different 1-5/8 x 3-7/8 pieces of Mocha Morning DSP card stock and attach to the scallop edged Basic Black piece leaving approximately 1/8 of Basic Black card stock showing between the strips. Attach this piece to a 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Attach this whole piece to the front of your card. Step 4 Stamp the Birthday Wishes from the Bring on the Cake stamp set onto Very Vanilla card stock using Basic Black ink and punch out using your Decorative Label punch. Punch out two Decorative Label pieces from a

11 piece of Basic Black card stock. Cut each black label piece and attach to your Crumb Cake piece. Attach to your card front using Stampin Dimensionals. Step 5 Attach your Basic Pearl Jewels to your card front. Card #4 Instructions Card #4 Card #4 Pieces Step 1 Cut a sheet of Crumb Cake card stock to 4-¼ x 11 and fold in half to create your card. Step 2 Cut a 2-3/8 x 5-1/8 piece of the Mocha Morning DSP and attach it to a 2-½ x 5-¼ piece of Early Espresso card stock. Attach this to your card front. Step 3 Cut a 2-¼ x 2-¾ piece of Crumb Cake card stock and stamp the Birthday Cake image from the Bring on the

12 Cake stamp set using Early Espresso ink. Attach this to a 2-3/8 x 2-7/8 piece of Early Espresso card stock. Attach this to a 1-½ x 3-¼ piece of Early Espresso card stock. Step 4 Cut a ¾ x 3 piece of Mocha Morning DSP and attach it to your piece you made in Step 3. Take your Paper- Piercing Tool and Mat Pad and pierce a hole on each end of the DSP strip and insert Gold brads. Step 5 Attach this whole piece to your card front using Stampin Dimensionals. Card #5 Instructions Card #5 Card #5 Pieces Step 1 Cut a sheet of Early Espresso card stock to 5-½ x 8-½ and fold in half to create your card. Step 2 Cut three 1 x 4-7/8 strips of Mocha Morning DSP. Attach your strips to three 1-1/8 x 5 strips of Early Espresso card stock. Attach your strips to a 4 x 5-¼ piece of Crumb Cake card stock; leaving ¼ of Crumb Cake showing between the strips.

13 Step 3 Take your Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat Pad and pierce three holes on the bottom right corner of the DSP strip and insert Gold brads. Attach this whole piece to the front of your card. Step 4 Cut a 1 x 3 piece of Crumb Cake card stock and stamp the Happy Birthday image from the Bring on the Cake stamp set using Early Espresso ink. Attach this to a 1-¼ x 3-¼ piece of Early Espresso card stock. Attach this to the front of your card using Stampin Dimensionals. Card #6 Instructions Card #6 Card #6 Pieces Step 1 Cut a sheet of Early Espresso card stock to 4-¼ x 11 and fold in half to create your card. Step 2 Cut a 4 x 5-¼ piece of Mocha Morning DSP and attach to your card front.

14 Step 3 Cut a 2-¾ x 4 piece of Mocha Morning DSP and attach it to a 3 x 4-¼ piece of Early Espresso card stock. Attach to card front. Step 4 Cut a 2 x 2 piece of Crumb Cake card stock and stamp Birthday Wishes on it using Early Espresso ink. Attach this to a 2-1/8 x 2-1/8 piece of Early Espresso card stock. Step 5 Using your Decorative Label punch; punch a label out of a piece of Early Espresso card stock. Cut this punched piece in half. Attach one half to the top of the square and one half to the bottom of the square. Step 6 Take your Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat Pad and pierce a hole thru the center of the top label piece and the center of the bottom label piece and insert Gold brads. Attach this whole piece to the front of your card using Stampin Dimensionals. Materials: Stampin Up!
