1 Christmas Baby Mistletoe and Holly Craft. 3 red stem balls 30cm of red string to fold over 1 straw 1 hot glue gun 1 glue stick 1 sharp knife 1 baking sheet 1 Sharpie pen Salt dough coloured green (use food colouring or you can paint once dried) Instructions: Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Take the dough and flatten with hands to the size of your child's foot. Make sure the surface is smooth so the footprint comes out visible. Place your child's foot on the clay, pressing down on the heel, top of foot, and all the toes for a good impression. Lift straight up and check out the impression. You can use your fingers to fix areas or make them deeper to see better. Take a sharp knife and cut along the footprint and smooth out the edges. You may need to reshape the toes a little to make them more recognisable. Take a straw to make a hole at the heel for the string to go through after they are baked. Place in the oven for 30 minutes. Let cool. Decide how wide you want the feet to be and line up the holes at the heels and use hot glue gun to glue together. Double the 30cm string so its 15cm long and string it through the holes at the heels. Tie a knot, then tie another knot at the very end of the string so you are left with a small loop to hang the mistletoe. Lastly, you take the 3 small baubles and with the wire attached to each red ball twist them together and use the now single wire to string through the holes in the heels. Write the child's information on the back so you remember who, when, and how old. This is great for gifts to the family and friends!. 2 Christmas Wreaths What you will need Paper plates Paint Glue Ribbon Pom poms and other decorations (cut up crepe paper, glitter etc) How to do it Cut the centre of the plate out so you only have the rim. Paint the rim. Dip the pom poms in glue then stick on the plate. Add other decorations if you wish. Put a small hole in top of the plate and thread a ribbon through so it can be hung. 4 Candy Cane Bark Ingredients: Makes: Approx. 10x10 Square, Broken into small pieces 10 ounces White Chocolate, chopped 9 Candy Canes, crushed into small pieces Directions Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside until needed. Place the chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the chocolate for 30 seconds. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir. Repeat the same microwave-and-stir process until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, let it slightly cool on the counter for about 5 minutes. Once cooled, add the crushed candy canes into the white chocolate, reserving 2 tablespoons for topping the bark. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly until its ¼ inch thick. Sprinkle the remaining crushed candy canes over the white chocolate mixture. Place the baking sheet into the refrigerator until its firm, about 10 minutes. Once it has hardened, break it apart into medium-sized pieces. Serve and enjoy! This bark is best kept in an airtight container or sealed plastic bag for up to two weeks.. 5 Sand foam What you will need Sand approximately 3 cups Shaving Foam x 1 can 250g (approximately) What to do: 1. Get your ingredients together 2. Use a plastic container and tip the sand in 3. Start adding the shaving foam. Mix as you go until you get a consistency you like 4. Mix it in really well, the children enjoy this part. Now it s time to play. Add some dinosaurs, cars, shells or anything else you would like to increase the sensory play. 6 Letter to Santa What you need - Paper - Pens and Pencils - Glue - Scissors - Mailers/Pamphlets - Pictures of toys What to do - It is always nice to send a letter to Santa with the children as it helps them feel in the Christmas mood. - If your children are quite young and can t write yet the easiest way to support them with this activity is by using pictures of toys from mailers and pamphlets that they can simply stick on to a piece of paper to create their letter. - Chat to your children about what they might like Santa to bring them - Once you have come up with ideas of what the children would like look through the mailers to see if you can find pictures showing them. - Encourage the children to cut out the pictures and stick them on their letters. - To make it more personal the children can draw pictures showing what they would like. For older children they can write words and add their name. - This is a great activity that will bring lots of conversation and excitement to the children - Send letters to Santa Claus, Santa's Workshop, North Pole 0001 Children will experience an environment where they experience the stories and symbols of their own and other cultures
