We had opportunity to see successful scientists giving their presentations and show a little bit of our work in Poster Session.

4 SPIE Optics+Photonics conference in San Diego. In August we participated in SPIE Optics+Photonics conference in San Diego. We had occasion to see how other SPIE Chapters are working and make new friendships with their members. We had opportunity to see successful scientists giving their presentations and show a little bit of our work in Poster Session. As our representative in conference took part treasurer of chapter - Tomasz Kozlowski Fair of Scientific Chapters and Student Organizations KONIK As always in October we took part in annual fair of scientific chapters and student organizations of Warsaw University of Technology. It was a great opportunity to present optics and to provide some curious, scientific experiments. Our game which is based on elastooptic effect was very

popular and many visitors enjoyed it, of course there were prizes for winners.

Multi-Touch Screen Elastooptic game WUT Annual Day Every year Warsaw University of Technology makes many events which aim to raise interesting in science, one of them is WUT Annual Day. By our participating we try to present science to casual people and students; we show both simple (polarization, mixing colors) and more complicated (holography, diffraction) experiments. This event allows us to understand and learn science, presenting it as an extremely exciting and fascinating sphere of life, and by bringing the researcher workshop encourages and inspires visitors to take an independent scientific activity. How to explain it in simple way?! Diffraction Elastooptic effect SPIE Party We ve made a party for all members of our faculty and students from Erasmus Mundus also. The idea was to integrate with people who we see every day in a corridor, have fun and talk about many things. Our dear professors were there also of course. 8 Our hologram OPTO Meeting For Young Researchers and VI International SPIE Students CHapters Meeting. Just like last year, many of us took part in the conference "OPTO Meeting For Young Researchers" which this time also took place in Torun. Weronika Zaperty represented us presenting a lecture on: "Wide angle viewing holographic multi SLM system with inclined plane wave illumination". The conference was again an opportunity to meet many interesting people and to discuss many scientific topics. We heard about medical microscopy, nonlinear effects in optical fibres, selffrequency converted lasers and astronomy (because we visited Torun Center of Astronomy). 9 All of us in front of the big radiotelescope 20/ International Meeting of Technical Universities Elektrijada At the end of May in Kopaonik in Serbia, took place International Meeting of Technical Universities Elektrijada. This event gathered over 1000 students from southern Europe, who got an opportunity of participation in scientific and sports competition. Our representatives were Adam Sobuń, Paweł Kamiński and Bartłomiej Siwicki.

10 Kopaonik Our volleyball team Polish bear Warsaw Scientific Picnic Every year takes place in Warsaw a Scientific Picnic, where many universities and organizations show some scientific curiosity. SPIE WUT was there also. In not so big blue tent, we showed a few colours of lasers, moire effect, holograms, elastooptics and polarization.
