4 SURFACE CABLE TRUNKING TRUNKING Turnbuckle Lid Fixing Armorduct Systems Ltd offer a comprehensive range of standard returned edge surface trunking, single or multi compartment. Both the lid and the body are supplied in 3 metre lengths complete with coupler and all necessary fixing screws. All couplers are supplied with captive threaded bushes, and all accessories are generally of weldless manufacture fitted with integral couplers. 9 MULTI COMPARTMENT TRUNKING DESCRIPTION Turnbuckle Lid Fixing A comprehensive range of returned edge multi-compartment surface cable trunking and accessories in pre-galvanised sheet steel. The trunking is supplied in 3 metre lengths as standard, complete with body, lid, coupler and all necessary fixing screws. The body of the trunking and accessories is constructed with a returned edge and the lid is fixed using captive zinc die-cast turnbuckles. The couplers are secured with M5 zinc plated screws fixed into captive threaded bushes. Accessories are generally of one-piece manufacture with integral couplers fitted with captive threaded bushes. TECHNICAL INSTALLATION INFORMATION Handed top lid bends, tees and intersections When asymmetric compartment spacings are specified accessories with top lids are handed as illustrated. Where possible the exact hand and location of the accessory should be specified. When this is not possible, which is often the case in practice, loose dividers can be supplied for on-site fitting. Flyovers Flyovers are necessary to maintain segregation through top lid tees and intersections only. However, the introduction of the flyover always reduces the capacity of the system by half. This is a severe restriction and must always be taken into account when the system capacity is specified. Full capacity can be maintained through the junction by using tees and intersections with double depth. Individual lengths of trunking are connected together by 300mm long internal sleeve couplers. The trunking lid is designed to clip into the mouth of the trunking section and is manufactured from steel or plastic in standard lengths of 2 metres. 14 INGRESS PROTECTED TRUNKING WEATHERPROOF A range of single and multi-compartment surface cable trunking designed to achieve ingress protection. The system is designed with an outward returned flange which is gasketted. The gasket is compressed between this flange and an overlapping lid by screws which fix into bushes inserted into the flange. Joints between trunking lengths and trunking accessories are secured using a combination of external and internal couplers both of which are gasketted. The trunking is supplied in 2 metre lengths as standard complete with body, lid, internal and external couplers and all necessary fixing screws. 19 CLEAR POLYESTER COATED TRAY Clear Polyester Coated Tray is now established as an alternative to traditional post-galvanised tray. Applying a factory coating of clear polyester powder to pre-galvanised steel cable tray produces a system with superior finish and performance, with none of the attendant problems of roughness and distortion associated with the post-galvanising process. Uses of CPC Tray include installation in corrosive atmospheres such as chemical plants, battery rooms, marine environments or general outside use, where post-galvanised or stainless steel systems have been commonly specified in the past. In such installations, CPC Tray provides a more cost effective solution to the problems of combining mechanical performance, ease of installation and endurance in hostile conditions.
