( 2 0 ) BETWEENWESTHAMPSTEADANDBEDFORD The maximum permissible speed on the slow lines between Harpenden (24m.,70ch.) and Bedford North Junction has been raised to 75 m.p.h. except between the following points where it will remain at 60m.p.h 37m. 09ch. and 37m. 35ch. 40m. 15ch. and At West Hampstead South Junction permanent speed restrictions of 25m.p.h. l to the down Hendon line 50 m.p.h. apply from the up fast to the up slow (former up local) and 40 m.p.h. apply from the down slow (former down local) to the down fast.1 The 110 m.p.h. permanent speed restriction applicable to class 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 trains on the fast and local lines between Finchley Road and Cricklewood Junction is withdrawn. At Si)kstream Junction the 30 m.p.h. permanent speed restriction through the junction from Up Slow to up local (renamed up slow throughout) has been withdrawn. The permanent speed restriction through the junction from and to the Hendon lines is now 30m.p.h. At Mill Hill Broadway the 55 m.p.h. permanent speed restriction on the slow lines through the station has been withdrawn. ( 2 0 ) BETWEENBLETCHLEYANDWOLVERTON(MILTON KEYNES) Signal BY.157 (up fast) and BY. 158 (up slow) together with the associated A W.S. inductors has been taken away. Note : The route to the down slow L.O.S. has not been brought into use at this stage. An A.W.S. inductor has been provided 200 yards before reaching the new signal which is provided with a telephone to Bletchley box.

Note :Until further notice signal BY.51 will display a red aspect only and the position light signal beneath the main aspects will not be in use. A telephone to Bletchley box has been provided at the new signal. A new 4 aspect controlled signal (BY.55) applicable to movements on the up fast line, has been provided 17 yards beyond the south end of the up fast platform. An A.W.S. inductor has been provided 200 yards before reaching the new signal which is provided with a telephone to Bletchley box. A new single aspect signal (BY.92) facing south and displaying a red aspect has been provided to the lef t of the up slow line (in the normal direction of travel) immediately at the north end of the slow platform. A telephone to Bletchley box is provided at the signal. A new position light shunting signal (BY.84) has been provided adjacent to the up slow line approximately 230 yards south of the station. The new signal applies to set back movements along the up slew line or to the bay platform, as required. Note : The route to the bay platform has not been brought into use at this stage. A new pos it ion light shunting signal (BY.85) wit h stencil 'XDS' indicator has been provided adjacent to the down slow line 30 yards from the south end of the down slow platform. The new signal applies to set back movements to the down slow line 'Limit of Shunt' indicator. Signal BY.156 (down slow) situated approximately 260 yards south of the station has been renumbered BY.49. A stencil '2' indicator has been provided above, and a new position light signal beneath, the main aspects. The signal applies as follows: Aspect displayed Indication R o u t e set main d o w n slow main ' 2 ' u p slow (platform 2) R+ sub ' B ' b a y (platform 1) Note : The routes to the up slow and bay line have not been brought into use at this stage.
