2 Rally Colorado 2018 Page 2 Competitors and Team Managers, Rally Colorado is almost here! This year s event begins with a Thursday evening Parc Expose and Ceremonial Start in downtown Rangely. Friday s competition involves two challenging loops to the north and east of town with a mixture of draws, ridges and plains. The Saturday loops head south and feature multiple mountain switchbacks and stunning vistas. Because of the terrain and remoteness, telephone and radio communication can be difficult. The rally will be utilizing 800mhz digital, private communication and will not be using 2 Meter FM. Service both days is at the east end of town in a large hard-surface, unpaved lot. Concessions will be available. There is a great barbeque planned for the Saturday finish at Colorado NW Community College. The Thursday Press Stage is focused on promotion and photo opportunities. It is short and will not provide a meaningful opportunity to test or shakedown setups. If you desire to test you should register for the Wednesday official test session. This package of information should allow you to be prepared for the event. 3 Designated Route for Service Personnel and Vehicles Page 2 This document describes the sole permissible movement allowed by service crew members during Rally Colorado. Exceptions may be granted if requested on a Request for Stewards' Review and posted on the Official Notice Board. Crews may move about freely outside of the indicated times. Only registered service vehicles allowed in the service areas. Vehicle movement inside the service areas is to be minimal. The Fuel Depot must be cleared of all equipment by 19:00 Friday and 16:00 Saturday. Do not attempt to access spectator points with large service rigs or with trailers. Spectator Areas are access points for emergency vehicles and have minimal room for making U-turns. You must also manage your time so that you are back to the service areas a bit early. The suggested return times are absolute minimums. Friday, July 20, : :00 (or until your entry DNFs or checks in at MTC 2 at the end of the day's competition, whichever is earlier) All crews may move freely within the boundaries described by the map of Rangely on page 5 of this Service Book, except Co Rd 131 south of Shale Dr is strictly off limits. SxS crews may follow the SxS trailer route at the indicated times -- you are to leave all service equipment and fuel supplies at the service area. Saturday, July 21, : :30 (or until your entry DNFs or checks in at MTC 4 at the end of the day's competition, whichever is earlier) Crews may move freely within the boundaries described by the map of Rangely on page 5 of this Service Book. SxS crews may follow the SxS trailer route at the indicated times -- you are not allowed to spectate as there is insufficient time. 11: :00 Car service crews may spectate at the stage 8/11 spectator location. Follow the instructions found elsewhere in this book. Allow 45 minutes to return to the service park from the spectator spot and plan to be back 15 minutes before your entry is expected in service. As a guide, the first car's service crew would need to leave stage 8 spectating at 12:10.

26 Rally Colorado 2018 Recce Page 2 Overall Procedures You will need your stage notes, route book, recce instructions, recce identification sticker and special recce time card. The identification sticker is to be affixed to the upper passenger side corner of the front windshield. You are also requested to drive with your headlights on. Your recce vehicle must be a normal street vehicle without signage or competition-like vehicle decorations. You are allowed only one pass on each stage as provided by following these instructions, and only during the times indicated in the recce schedule. We have workers on the stages at all times during the several days and nights preceding the rally. They are always alert for unauthorized competitor or crew inspections of stages. The start marshals for the recce stages will be parked on the right shoulder facing you. There are three different crews -- they will have a single time control sign at their car. Please pull alongside when it s your turn. The recce start teams will initial and write your start time on your recce time card before allowing you to go. There may be several observation controls monitoring speed on recce transit and stage sections. They will be identified with standard time control signs at the car. They will write your highest measured speed on your recce time card and will apply the penalties of PRR 8.2.E and the Rally Colorado Supplemental Regulations on the spot if warranted. Speed limits are 30 mph on stages, 40 mph on all other unpaved roads and 65 mph on all paved highways unless posted or noted otherwise in these instructions or the route book transits they incorporate. The slow speed used for setting the stage schedule is 20 mph so you shouldn t have to rush through the stages. If you rush you will just have a longer wait at the next start control. Take your time. During recce you may encounter oncoming traffic, off highway vehicles (OHVs), gas & oil workers, livestock, wild horses, local residents, and our tape & banner crews. Please use appropriate caution while driving there are many corners and crests on the stage roads where visibility is limited.

29 Rally Colorado 2018 SxS Page 2 Overall Procedures SxS entries are to drive under their own power through all Rally Colorado controls. SxS vehicles will run the stages after Safety Sweep and be followed by Slow Sweep. The first SxS will start the stage at a time such that if traveling at the hot time pace it will normally reach the FTC 10 minutes after Safety Sweep. This means that there are planned longer-than-normal holds between the ATC and the SS on some of the longer stages. Since UTVs are not allowed to drive on Colorado state highways you will need to trailer on the following transits: MTC 1 to ATC 1 FTC 2 to ATC 3 RGC Service 1 to ATC 4 FTC 5 to ATC 6 MTC 3 to ATC 7 FTC 8 to ATC 9 FTC 9 to ATC Service 2 RGC Service 2 to ATC 10 FTC 11 to ATC 12 FTC 12 to MTC 4 Trailering load and unload points are either after or before the MTCs, ATCs, FTCs and RGCs. Transits with trailering have an additional 8 minute time allowance for the SxS vehicles to load and unload. The detailed instructions for the trailering activities follow.

30 2018 Rally Colorado SxS Trailer Route Location Instructions MTC 1 Load Load your vehicle in the Auto Museum lot after it clears MTC 1. 11:40 AM Head west on Hwy 64 from the lot. After 2.8 miles turn right to go north on Co Rd 1 toward Blue Mountain. In another 6.5 miles you will reach Co Rd 96 on your right, which is the Stage 1/4 Start Unload Stage 2/5 Finish Load entrance to Stage 1/4. Unload your vehicle along the right (east) shoulder of Co Rd 1 just past Co Rd 96 on your right. The U-turn to return to Hwy 64 is.7 miles ahead on your right in a large, graveled open area. After your U-turn travel 7.3 miles south to return to Hwy 64. Turn left (east) on Hwy 64 toward Rangely. It is 3 miles to Rangely and another 1.5 miles to the Hwy 139 junction east of town. From the 64/139 junction, continue east another 16.7 miles to the junction with Co Rd 73. Turn left onto 73 and turn around before the first bridge using the field entrance on your left (you probably want to back in). Load your vehicle on the west shoulder of Co Rd 73 heading toward Hwy 64, between the bridge and the highway after making a U-turn using the field entrance before the bridge Travel Time est. FCD 1:10 PM Stage 3/6 Start Unload Return to Hwy 64 and turn right (west) toward Rangely. After 7.5 miles turn left (south) onto Co Rd 122. Unload your vehicle along the right (west) shoulder of Co Rd 122 immediately after the turn. U-turn to return to service is just ahead using the driveway on your right. Return to Hwy 64 and turn left (west) toward Rangely. After 7.5 miles turn left onto Co Rd 131 to access the Service Area

31 2018 Rally Colorado SxS Trailer Route Location Service Area Load Instructions Load your vehicle along the north shoulder of Shale Dr after it exits the Service Area and Regrouping Control. Travel Time est. FCD 3:10 PM Take Shale Dr and Co Rd 131 to Hwy 64. Turn left (west) on 64 towards Rangely. Pass the junction with Hwy 139 in 1.7 miles and head into and through Rangely. Turn right (north) on Co Rd 1 toward Blue Mountain approximately 3 miles west of Rangely. In another 6.5 miles you will reach Co Rd 96 on your right, which is the entrance to Stage 1/4. 20 Stage 1/4 Start Unload Unload your vehicle along the right (east) shoulder of Co Rd 1 just past Co Rd 96 on your right. The U-turn to return to Hwy 64 is.7 miles ahead on your right in a large, graveled open area. After your U-turn travel 7.3 miles south to return to Hwy 64. Turn left (east) on Hwy 64 toward Rangely. It is 3 miles to Rangely and another 1.5 miles to the Hwy 139 junction east of town. From the 64/139 junction, continue east another 16.7 miles to the junction with Co Rd 73. Turn left onto 73 and turn around before the first bridge using the field entrance on your left (you probably want to back in). 45 Stage 2/5 Finish Load Load your vehicle on the west shoulder of Co Rd 73 heading toward Hwy 64, between the bridge and the highway after making a U-turn using the field entrance before the bridge 4:40 PM Return to Hwy 64 and turn right (west) toward Rangely. After 7.5 miles turn left (south) onto Co Rd Stage 3/6 Start Unload Unload your vehicle along the right (west) shoulder of Co Rd 122 immediately after the turn. U-turn to return to service is just ahead using the driveway on your right. Return to Hwy 64 and turn left (west) toward Rangely. After 7.5 miles turn left onto Co Rd 131 to access the Service Area. 15

After another 13.4 miles you will reach the junction with Co Rd Turn right onto Co Rd 116 and find a suitable place to make a U-turn so that you are facing Hwy 139 (headed east) along the south shoulder, within 1/2 mile of the highway. Load your vehicle on the south shoulder of Co Rd 116 heading toward Hwy 139 within 1/2 mile of the highway. Return to Hwy 139 and turn left (north) toward Rangely. After 13.4 miles turn right onto Co Rd Unload your vehicle in the large gravel turn-around on the right, 150 ft before the Stage 9/12 Start Control. Return to Hwy 139 and turn right (north) toward Rangely. After 2.0 miles you will pass Co Rd 100 on your left. After another 1.5 miles you must pull onto the wide left shoulder across from Co Rd 138, which is the 10 Stage 9/12 finish. Load your vehicle on the west shoulder of Hwy 139 across from Co Rd 138 on your right. Beware of traffic! After loading, carefully continue north on Hwy 139. After 2.0 miles you will reach the junction with Hwy 64. Turn right (east) on After another 1.7 miles turn right (south) onto Co Rd 131. Unload along the right shoulder immediately after the turn. After 13.4 miles turn right onto Co Rd Unload your vehicle in the large gravel turn-around on the right, 150 ft before the Stage 9/12 Start Control. Return to Hwy 139 and turn right (north) toward Rangely. After 2.0 miles you will pass Co Rd 100 on your left. After another 1.5 miles you must pull onto the wide left shoulder across from Co Rd 138, which is the 10 Stage 9/12 finish. Load your vehicle on the west shoulder of Hwy 139 across from Co Rd 138 on your right. Beware of traffic! After loading, carefully continue north on Hwy 139. After 1.2 miles you will reach the junction with Co Rd 106. Turn left (west) on 106 and unload 5 immediately along the right shoulder.
