1 Entering the EXIF Metadata - In Adobe Bridge CC (as at 30/30/2018) Place all your images into one folder, with no other images present. Press <Ctrl> and <A> to select all images Select <File> (menu) then <File Info> Enter the Entrants name into the "Author" field (highlighted in red above), press <Ok>. That will enter exactly the same Entrant's name into the Author field of every image. This will not be shown to the judges, it is used for the selection process and for the exhibition DVD. Please do not enter your distinctions here though. With all the image files still selected, select <Tools>, then <Photoshop>, then <Image Processor>. e:\my documents\clubs & societies\rps\exhibitions\ea region\projected image\image preparation\2018\entering exif data docx - page 1 -
2 Under 2 (above), select the folder you want to put the re-sized, re-formatted image files. This will retain your originals. Under 3 above, tick Save as JPEG, Resize to Fit and Convert Profile to srgb, then enter 1600 into W px and 1200 into H px, and 12 into Quality (the maximum it will accept). All are highlighted in red above. Click <Run>. Back in Bridge, click on the first image so that only that one is selected. Select <File> (menu) then <File Info>. Enter the image title into the "Document Title" (top box, above the Author field), press <Ok>. The judges and audience will see this information, and it will be used for the exhibition DVD. Please make sure spelling, capitalisation and punctuation etc is all correct. Repeat for all the other images. Select <File> (menu) then <File Info> Enter the image title into the field marked "Document Title" (highlighted in red above). The judges and audience will see this information, and it will be used for the exhibition DVD. Please make sure spelling, capitalisation and punctuation etc are all correct. Enter the Entrants name into the "Author" field (highlighted in yellow above). This will not be shown to the judges, it is used for the selection process and for the exhibition DVD. Please do not enter your distinctions here though. Remember - please be consistent across all images entered. Press <Ok>. Select <Edit> (menu) then <Convert to Profile> e:\my documents\clubs & societies\rps\exhibitions\ea region\projected image\image preparation\2018\entering exif data docx - page 3 -
4 Select "Working RGB srgb IEC ", press <ok>. Select <File> (menu) then <Automate> then <Fit Image> Enter 1600 into the Width box, and 1200 into the Height box. Press <Ok>. 5 Entering the EXIF Metadata - In Windows Explorer Place all your images into one folder, with no other images present. Press <Ctrl> and <A> to select all images. Right-Click on an image and select "Properties", then the "Details" tab. Enter the Entrants name into the "Author" field, press <Ok>. >. That will enter exactly the same Entrant's name into the Author field of every image. This will not be shown to the judges, it is used for the selection process and for the exhibition DVD. Please do not enter your distinctions here though. Click on the first image. Right-Click on an image and select "Properties", then the "Details" tab. Enter the image title into the "Title" field, press <Apply> then <Ok>. The judges and audience will see this information, and it will be used for the exhibition DVD. Please make sure spelling, capitalisation and punctuation etc is all correct. Repeat for all the other images. 6 Entering the EXIF Metadata - In Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 (as at 30/30/2018) Open the image file in Photoshop. Select <File> (menu) then <File Info> Enter the image title into the field marked "Document Title" (highlighted in red above). The judges and audience will see this information, and it will be used for the exhibition DVD. Please make sure spelling, capitalisation and punctuation etc is all correct. Repeat for all the other images. Enter the Entrants name into the "Author" field (highlighted in yellow above). The judges will not be shown this information, but it is used for the selection process and for the exhibition DVD. Remember - please be consistent across all images entered. Press <Ok>. Select <Image> (menu), <Convert Colour Profile> then <Convert to srgb Profile>. e:\my documents\clubs & societies\rps\exhibitions\ea region\projected image\image preparation\2018\entering exif data docx - page 6 -
7 Select <Image> (menu) then <Image Size> Resize the image, using the "Pixel Dimensions" "Width" and "Height" boxes. Make sure it is no more than 1600 wide and 1200 high. Note the example image used is portrait format (higher than it is wide), therefore the critical dimension is "1200 high". It MUST fit within a 1600 x 1200 rectangle. Press <Ok>. Select <Image>, <Convert Color Profile>, <Convert to srgb Profile> Save the image as a maximum quality jpeg (or jpg). e:\my documents\clubs & societies\rps\exhibitions\ea region\projected image\image preparation\2018\entering exif data docx - page 7 -
