1 Requirements for Processing Welcome to the Mill at Meadowlands. We thank you for choosing our mill to process your fiber. Please read through our requirements for processing and fill out the processing fees form before filling out the order form. If we can t spin your fiber after being processed, we will contact you with an explanation why and your fiber will be returned as pindrafted roving and charged as such. Our spinning frame can handle staple lengths ranging from 2.5 to 12 inches. If you have a sample of yarn style and you would like us to match, send it along with your fiber. The mill will not accept any fiber that show the presence or prior presence of moths. Fiber will be sent back to you plus shipping charges. We do not accept any fiber with mothballs. Skirting and handling if fiber is a must. It saves you money as processing charges are on incoming weight of fiber. We want the finished product to be of utmost quality, with both of us doing our part, it will be just that! Finished yarns will contain some or all the following antistatic agent, cohesive agent, ring (spinning) oil. We recommend the washing of finished yarn prior to use. We handle each batch of fiber separately and clean all equipment between orders. Your own filber is always returned to you. We do not discount fiber processing fees if you have washed your own fiber. We need to be certain the fiber is clean and free of all possible objects prior to being run through our machinery. Exotics include Llama, Alpaca, Angora, dog hair, camel, fine wools, which need special care. Some of these might need a small amount of wool added to process properly. We reserve the right to add wool if necessary, unless you specify in your instructions not to. Fine wools include merino, corno, correidale, rambouillet, polwarth, bond, targhee and crosses of these. If we find the fiber is a little coarser than fine, we will charge based on time and extra handling of the fiber. All double-coated sheep (i.e., Icelandic, Jacob, Navajo-Churro and Karikul) may need extra pin drafting to blend thoroughly the various lengths of their fiber so they can be spun on our machines. Where the volume of undercoat to outercoat is close to 50/50 there is usually no problem; but if fleece is unbalanced, extra pin drafting is needed. Shipping/Handling: we require a 50% deposit on your order before processing. You will be notified when your order has been processed and balance will be due prior to shipment. Orders left unpaid for 60 days will become the property of The Mill at Meadowlands. We accept major charge cards, checks and money orders.
