2 GENERAL INFORMATION Name of the Trade : Shirts and Trouser Maker N.C.O. Code No. : , Entry Qualification : Passed 10 th class examination under 10+2 system of education or its equivalent. Duration of the Apprenticeship Training : 02 years Rebate allowed in Apprenticeship Training : One year and six months for trainees completed Broad Based Basic Training in Apparel Sector under Centre of Excellence Scheme and Advanced module of Centre of Excellence Scheme in Shirts and Trousers. Ratio of apprentices to workers other than : 1:4 unskilled workers Terminal Behavior : On Completion of the training the trainee is able to Design & Stitch Various Shirt and Trouser. Course Outline : The training shall comprise of a) On the job training The actual training shall be dependent on the facilities available in the establishment, with an idea to expose the trainees to as many activities as possible. The trainees shall maintain a daily work dairy for on the job training, which shall be periodically authenticated by the supervisor. b) Project Each apprentice shall under take a project in any of the areas depending on her interest and facilities available in the establishment. The duration of the project shall be two Weeks. 2

5 5 Designing & making a gents jackets from denim & suiting material. Skills involved different yokes, slant pockets, front placket finishing withzip. Finishing, pressing & packing of above garment using different industrial machines for each purpose. 6 Designing and making of different trousers 1) Pleated pant 2) One piece narrows bottom pant. 3) Bell bottom pant. 4) Jeans 5) Cargo pant. Main skills involved- different finishing for belts, plackets, such front side, different finishing for pockets such patch pockets side pockets etc. Using special machines. 7 Finishing, pressing & packing of different trousers using special industrial machine for each purpose. 1) Mini boiler with vacuum pressing table with shirts & trousers buck. 2) Electrical steam press (automatic) 3) Shirt folding machine 4) Stain removing machine. RELATED INSTRUCTIONS 1) Measuring, drafting, cutting & pressing tools equipment. (identify use & maintenance ) 2) Different types sewing machine i.e. single needle, double needle, button holder, tacker, overlock etc. use& 3) Care of these machine (including\oiling\cleaning etc.) 4) Main parts and their functions, major adjustment while operating sewing machine and their functions. Different sewing thread and needle specially used for different industrial machine. 5) Purpose of making paper pattern, principle and techniques of making paper pattern and use in dress cutting i.e. layout etc. 5

Trade terms use in cutting room. different fastener used in shirts and trousers various parts of tucks, zips, buckles and button. 7) Pattern drafting & stitching garment principles & methods of grading for different patterns (shirts, trousers & jackets) 8) Alteration of paper pattern in respect of individual figure Height Girth proportion \disproportion, normal\abnormal, average shape, construction lines and fitting.different process of fitting belts,,plackets, collers etc. Difference between ladies & gents patterns. 9) Packing etc. Correct method of pressing different garments according to the fabric stands folding of garment. Method of fitting on dummy or person observation.& marking calculations accordance to size & width of fabric. 6
