2 Industrial Stitching Machine Operator 1 TRAINING OBJECTIVES This course is designed for the participants who want to join garment industry as a Stitcher or Industrial Stitching Machine operator. In this course the student will get the operating skill and knowledge of special garment machines, their function, lubrication minor faults and remedies. The purpose of this course is to enhance productivity with quality. This course aims at producing skilled manpower for Garments Industry in the field of Industrial Stitching Machine operator. This skilled manpower shall be given adequate training in operating the various stitching machines generally in use in Garments industry. Emphasis will also be on character building of students during their training by delivering motivational lectures on patriotism, discipline and work ethics. 3 Industrial Stitching Machine Operator 2 SKILL PROFICIENCY DETAILS At the end of the course, the trainee must be able to attain the following skills about various industrial-stitching machines: - 1. Identify the name and functions of various machines and their uses. 2. Identify accessories of various machine s and describe their functions. 3. Machine Cleaning (Before & after work). 4. Wind a bobbin, thread a machine, thread colour change, without removing complete thread (by knotting) adjust tension, choose and change a needle. Differentiating needs of L/S; O/L, F/L etc. 5. Operate M/C, handle garment and control speed of each machine properly. 6. Paper / Card sewing Exercises (simple to complex shapes). 7. Sewing on Rags. 8. Making special shapes on fabric pieces e.g. collar, placket; sidevents etc. 9. Complete garment making. 10. Produce maximum work in minimum time with required quality. (Using proper movements of Arms, Legs, Hands etc). 11. Rectify the causes of thread breaking, bobbin thread breaking and their remedies. 12. Rectify the causes of skip stitches.
