2 Western Champion, Mr. E A Peel is Licensee of the Royal Hotel. (In 1892 Mr. Peel buys Emerson s Hotel and renames it the Royal Hotel; now the Artesian Hotel). 11 Nov 1887 License renewal is granted to Mr. E A Peel Mr. Joe Edg and Margaret Edg, Licensees. Hotel name is changed to Union Hotel. During the Edg s tenure, union tickets are issued at the hotel to shearers, hence the name Union Hotel. During this time the roof is lined with calico and at times leaves would weigh down the calico and it would have to be emptied. April 1890 Feb 1891 Mrs. Margaret Edg applies to transfer the license to Mr. Hubert O Kane of Springsure. The application is refused and the hotel closes. Mrs. Margaret Edg gives over the Union Hotel to Mr. Hubert O Kane.

The Brisbane Courier, 9 June 1924 John Kuder, licensee of the Union Hotel, was charged with having his house open for the sale of liquors on Sunday afternoon, May 4. The police evidence showed that a small bar door yielded to a push, and the condition of the bar disclosed evidence that liquors had been served. Accused, with two witnesses, sought to prove that accused was at a football match from 2:30 to 4 o clock, and he said that he had the keys of the bar in his possession all the afternoon, and had left the bar doors fastened. Old boarding rooms are pulled down and a more modern building is erected Mr. Henry Thomas Hayes is hotel keeper, Winifred Elizabeth Harris is manageress.?? Mr. Ben Pelizzari is Proprietor and Licensee 1958 First hotel [in Queensland?] fitted with a cold room. Mrs. Mary Frances Sohier is manageress Mr. Darall William Seir is licensee; & Beryl Genevieve Seib.

19 Patrick George Ogden, licensee; & Olive Clare Ogden lease hotel from Mr. Ben Pelizzari. They buy the Globe Hotel in Mr. Sergio Stefando Pelizzari (son of Ben Pelizzari) and Neroli Mae (nee Churchill) return to the Union and are the current licensees. The boarding rooms are converted into motel accommodation.
