In 2014, she went and trained in the Tigers Fantasy Camp in Florida! If you can t find her in her office you might find her cheering on SVSU s Volleyball team! She incorporates her Quote of the Year into her daily life.

4 Michele was involved with Residence Housing Association at Saginaw Valley State University from During which she was urged many times to join the Executive Board but ultimately declined as she did a lot of behind the scenes work in the organization. Her time in RHA helped her find her sweet spot and ultimate love of Residential Life and Student Affairs. She is a real Hall-of-Famer in the fact that she was a member of Saginaw Valley State University s first delegation to NACURH in 1992!

For me it was always about the interactions with student leaders. In addition to the conferences listed above, she has also attended many conferences in regards to Housing and Residential Life operations such as Commission for Housing & Residential Life (ACPA).

6 She served as the GLACURH Regional Advisor Resource Training Coordinator from In this capacity she coordinated all training and resource sessions for Advisors at the annual conference and No Frills conferences. Attended conferences and been an advisor within 3 different Regions. 7 She has attended at least 11 NACURH conferences, one as a delegate and 10 or more as an advisor. She served as the NACURH National Information Center Advisor at Oklahoma State University from In this role she acted as a resource agent on NACURH policies and procedures for student leaders. Also supported the staff in goal-setting, teambuilding and successfully maintaining healthy staff morale.

8 Saginaw Valley State University Director of Residential Life Supports and oversees Residential Life student organizations, including: Residence Housing Association (Advisor for RHA) National Residence Hall Honorary Community Councils Living Learning Communities Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates administrative-professional and support staff. Develop relationships and collaborate with student organizations. Forecast and manage Residential Life budgets and financial transactions. Provides individual and group assistance to residential students. Plus many more duties which impact Residential Students Michele with the Associate Directors and Resident Directors of the school year. Michele is the Director of Residential Life and has served in this capacity since August of In this position she oversees all of Residential Life, which includes supervising two Associate Directors of Residential Life, six Resident Directors, 44 Resident Assistants, as well as other support staff. Although she oversees all Residential Life student organizations she plays a larger role as one of the two Advisors of Residence Housing Association. During the academic year she served as the sole advisor while a replacement was sought for one of the Associate Directors of Residential Life. Her overall role as an advisor includes attending RHA s weekly General Assembly Meetings which occur Tuesdays at 10 p.m., encourages and serves as a resource to the RHA Executive Board, Representatives, and General Assembly Members.

She has a remarkable talent of locating the silver lining in every situation and her enthusiasm and passion has strengthened the minds of my fellow student leaders across all forms of campus life. With each year that passes, Michele has been making a difference at Saginaw Valley State University. Michele is quite possibly the main reasons I've chosen a career in Student Affairs. She invested in me when I became part of the RHA e-board my sophomore year. I soon after became connected with many more realms of Residential Life and Student Affairs.
